Armory is being tested with mid-season patch

If you have logged in with your Eternal character to get the boost, you might have notice that, as soon as you pick your ‘'welcome back boost’', your skills, gear and paragon instantly swap to that build.
If this isn’t a way to ‘‘test’’ how the armory will work, I don’t know what else could be.

That being said: I really hope that they don’t pretend to make the armory the ‘’ big seasonal’’ thing. The game deserves and needs way much more than a feature that should’ve been there since day one, especially after this disastrous season that they simply decided not to fix anything so RMT and exploiters could keep having SpiritFun.

A lot of people say they want an Armory, but it’s not a feature that gets used by the population that much when one considers the overwhelming majority of all players don’t play enough to really take advantage of multiple builds.

It’s a feature for the kinds of people invested enough to bother posting on forums, but not something that brings most people back to the game. This season, following so many very sparse seasons, has to have content. It’s gotta have things that people want to try where the armory is an afterthought, something that is just extra.

If the first bullet point of their campfire is “armory”, this season may be a non-starter for many.

That’d be more than dissapointing if it is the main focus of the season. But I can’t forget how in the campfire chat Rod Fergusson said that ‘‘there won’t be major changes coming in Season 7’’. They might fix bugs, buff a few classes, add armory and call it a day.

Sure, man. It was all to bring you to this post so you could watch the ads and I can get paid by BlizzTube. But first, let me tell you about my sponsor…

Damn that would be funny if they had the armoury for just 1 season oh man plz let that happen.

I’d go broke in the  bill alone

This is my bigger concern. Every patch starting with S4 has been about adding content and ignoring the Seasons entirely. If I had to guess I think they disbanded the Seasonal teams and just merged everyone into the same team to work on core changes for the game.

I hope I’m wrong, but based off the last 3 seasons, this is how it feels. Not that we don’t need these core changes of course, but it would be nice to have something else to go with these changes for those of us who play Seasonal.

Didn’t mean it was going to be there for 1 season but that it would be the main selling point of the season. Come on, you perfectly know they are cappable of doing such thing.
Hopefully not, but got zero expectations about them not doing it.

Honestly I like it that way. Core improvements to the gameplay are far more important than seasonal power spikes.
This is why everyone was so bored in season 3 - the op vampire powers from season 2 were gone.
And Eternal is more playable this way too.

They could (and should) add fixes as soon as they are ready. Same for core features, like the armory. They won’t because they like selling those as a new addition, something to add more text in the patch notes and also an extra slide in the campfire: 1 for Rogue buffs and 5 for the armory.

Agreed, the season ends in January, put out the armory now, let us test it on the live servers, fix any problems, and it’ll be much smoother going into S7. We all know they won’t, and there will be some major bugs going into S7.

‘The armory deleted my gear!’ ‘Missing paragon points after switching at the armory!’ ‘Armory isn’t saving my builds!’ On top of whatever other bugs come out for the patch. It’s a never ending cycle of release patch, fix some bugs for two weeks, ignore game until mid season patch, ignore game until next major patch/season.

They accidentally buffed the spiritborn and now they are clearing T150 twice as fast as before. I don’t think the armory is high on their priority list.

Not to mention the new duping bug with Obducite.

Yeah i won’t be using the armory at launch, with any characters/gear that matter to me… and i don’t anticipate spending time on a throw-away character just to test a new feature. I’ll let the streamers test it and maybe i’ll use it the following season.

I shall test it with my new clan for you lol.

loadouts should be standard by now and incorporated into game at launch. Diablo is not a new game and they’ve decades of player data and feedback from the forums and social media too. The devs should know what we like and what our expectations are as to what should be standard by now

They will let us test ‘‘an old build’’ of it in the PTR. Feedback will be given and fully ignored. Will be out in S7 and will be having all those you mentioned plus that’s a solid candidate for dupe paradise.
Again: I really hope this doesn’t happen, but watching what’s actually happening right now, it doesn’t sound crazy but actually logic.

And not even to that extent. I never used it in D3 and I will never use it in D4. It’s utterly useless to me and the way I play.

Things like boosters and armories are probably very popular among WOW players and they feel are necessary for them. For an ARPG, they are arguably useless hence no other ARPG ever had them and probably never will. In fact, I think they dilute the experience.

The thing is: I’d rather have an armory for my main Rogue instead of 3 or 4 Rogues just to play differently when I am bored or to test something. The armory saves me time because I don’t have to go to the main menu despite it takes seconds and I won’t lose my elixirs+incen. effects in the process. And of course, not having to level up glyphs 3 or 4 times, which is painful and tedious since I hate The Pit with all my heart.
I am more interested in having 1 character per season in which I invest it all instead of a spread of characters with no other purpose than testing.

By all means, let’s keep wasting characters on posts about what should have been. I’m sure once we hit the target post count, that’ll change the past.
