Yup.
An armory/loadout system is just another basic feature of the game that they forgot to develop; it doesn’t, inherently, solve or expand gameplay.
I’m actually going to laugh if they try to pass off “season of the armory”.

Then it would be a dis-armory.
I’m here all week. Try the veal. Lol
Seriously, I too suspect any armory feature will be a bugged mess. There’s something wrong with Blizzard’s testing methodology. Or the game code is an even worse mass of spaghetti than we suspected.
It’s the company as a whole.
Black Ops 6 is having similar bugged out releases and QA issues. WC3 Reforged 2.0 is an AI hackjob of marketing deception (cough cough D4).
The company is just floundering.
The issues of lack of QA testing is inherent through all of their products at this point.
Luckily for them, they have enough people (can’t name names >.>) who will buy their products, no matter what, based on brand loyalty and nostalgia.
I still can’t see how an armory would make much difference since respec is essentially free right now. I change things all the time without any issues whatsoever. If anything, it’s already too easy to respec but that’s another discussion.
Anyway, I think there are reasons why the game launched without it plus no other ARPG has a similar feature. It’s not laziness btw, it’s deliberate.
I’m sure the armory will be some kind of a “Select between these 4 curated builds for your class” at first with a mention of the items and aspects you need to chase if you don’t already have them (like the Build helper thingy in Diablo Immortal to help casuals).
If that’s the case, I’ll just laugh. I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if it was something as barebone as that…
this game is so bad right now, who even cares about armory?
It’s not that it cost something now, but in some cases, by moving paragon/skills/passives and gear around, you end up wasting a lot some time. Considering they can’t even come up with a true DPS meter or some precalculated DPS stat in your stats tab to help you figure out which item/build is best for you, a loadout selector would at least make testing easier. I’m not against that.
since all interactions with the devs are sent to the forums, discussing things here now in the present could have potential impact for the future but maybe you can’t grasp the concept
Keep dreaming, buddy. Your criticism isn’t going to have an ounce of impact on them. You’ll just be “another person who thinks they know better than we do”.
All that aside, there was nothing constructive about your comment, so your point is moo.
I am gold capped, it is not about gold and have never been, it is about the time you spend doing that even tho I almost have memorized my paths. 3 to 4 mins in a respec is enough to think twice about doing it for a test that you know might take 20 mins and then having to respec again back to the main thing.
Why should this be hard?
None of those reasons is good. It is literally making the player waste time.
Diablo 3 has it…
I will ignore the fact that you don’t know actual facts and call another tittle: The Division 2: which has an even less tedious and way smaller tree to go through.
“If anything, its already too easy too respec.”
What? Why should it be more difficult? please explain that logic. I think it shouldn’t even cost anything because I’ve already farmed the glyphs boards and time, and i should be able to respec at my leisure. But i also understand why they charge. So thats a wash but making it more difficult. Nah Pass.
I never used it in D3, either. It bugged out just enough and the needed changes were often so minor that it wasn’t worth it for me.
If it allows you to change out paragon in D4, then I’ll definitely use it. I do not like messing around with paragon and I especially hate that nearly every 3rd party interface blows D4’s official interface out of the water.
Even if there are some people that will find the armory useful, I find the “need” of it excessively hyperbolic. Especially when we consider the game still lacks endgame content, is full of bugs and exploits, and arguably itemization is awful even after the rework. The armory won’t address any of that and I believe 90% of players won’t ever use it, unless it offers a copy from web capability but I doubt it. It’s a feature they’ve been working on for like a year now. So much developer time went into it that instead could’ve been used in addressing some things from the list above.
You are not getting the point, mate. Let’s simplifly this: You are right and I am right. Both things are needed and should’ve been there and working perfectly since, at least, season 2. Don’t forget this is multimillion dev game that you (and I) paid full price for. You are demanding for your stuff, I am demanding for mine. I want what you want and you should want what I want because they should be hiring devs for both things (also creating jobs and getting more people paid in the process) instead of picking one or the other. It shouldn’t work like that, but it does and you should be mad at them for picking the armory over the bug fixing… which isn’t actually fixing a thing.
Can you see it now?
Yeah, it’s cool. The armory is not the hill I’m dying on considering what a mess this game is
Armory would have been great to launch with the expansion. I would have played about 4 or 5 different spiritborn builds. You are right though, they need to stop making these editions the focus of the season. It needs to be added alongside the seasonal content, not as the seasonal content.
If that is the case then it will be the second season I skip. Im not playing through this slog again.
Don’t worry. They cut off the expansion story so they could add little bits of it every season and call that the season theme.
Totally agreed. I’d rather they focus to keep permanently improving the base game - and do random seasonal gimmicks after that. Something that adds to the game long term is much better than some random powercreep spike for a few months.
Game started getting significantly better when they started focusing on the game instead of seasonal gimmicks.
