Ive played all the StarCraft games and i dont remember them being like this, they seemed finished and fun to play over a few times.
Not sure but i think i played Diablo 1 and loved it till i wrecked it by using a trainer and killed it for myself by making it to EZ.
So what happened to D4 ?
After level 60 it feels like jury duty. Its just hard to play unless your ok with making completely new toons { which i am } but doing the slow campaign over { i didnt take the option to skip it so thats on me } its just slow and im not looking 4ward to it.
The skill tree seems almost juvenile
The loot is mediocore at best and i sell 99.4% of anything i find
Then when i do try to re roll/enchant something the cost prevents that from happening/being fun
The storage also prevents replaying other classes
Yes they might fix a few things in S2 but why wait ?
Im under no illusion that activision will " read this thread and fix everything " while thanking me at the next share holders metting 4 single handedly saving the franchise.
Everyone sees the shortcomings not just me.
Are the devs really that inexperianced ?
Was no " prior diablos " explained to them ?
Did they do no research to see what die hard fans loved and hated from past games ?
To me this looks like a leadership fail tbh. The responsibility falls on the top dogs, just like the bonuses and corporate retreats on mega yachts and private islands.
I dont hate the game, i hate the game cuz i love diablo so much.
So did activision drop the ball and hire the wrong leadership or is activision ok and green lighted the game in this condition ?
I get the deadlines and market timing for release but the leads get paid big bucks to deal with that and turn out a game the loyal community hopefully loves, so who phoned it in ?
Nope, this is all Activision’s doing. They’re trying to apply the same garbage game elements that they put in Destiny 2. Which is why I don’t play Destiny 2 anymore. The changes they’re trying to add here DO NOT FIT in this game’s format. So they’re trying to make all games fit into the same mold over at Activision. That is where the real problem stems from. They’re trying to change all games into one homogenous game format. Soon it will be games FPS2023, Sports2023, MMO2023 just like Madden games. They’ll all be completely void of fun, and the only way to enjoy them will be to spend ungodly amounts of money on intangible items.
–Edit I also blame idiots with too much money and very little brains for adding to this problem.
Well, there was that whole incident with the lawyers and the harassment and the people in major positions getting fired. So, that definitely didn’t help the development cycle.
first you must understand that blizzard died in 2007 and was sold in 2011 or so and when you check even just lame wiki about blizzard and list of their games you will notice, that D4 is basically the first game in 15 years …
overwatch is not a game, just simple shooting … it works like counter strike but not a game per se
D3 was done by different studio, blizzard didnt liked it so they closed it in 2007 and changed a lot of stuff … thus female diablo was born
since that time, there is ZERO games released … only expansion or remakes, mostly failed
D2R was kinda good was also highly influenced by modern harassing blizzard, a lot of stuff removed or changed … weirdly even though they did mostly good job, none of the features or even technical system were implemented in D4 … like shadows or light radius which was kinda okay in D2R but extremely broken and fake in D4 …
blizzard has so many internal problems, just google a bit … there are seksual harassements in blizzard for years … i know about for like 6 years, still active today … and many more abusive behaviour from their side
WoW is the most live service game Blizzard has ever made. It started with a 1 to 60 leveling experience with dungeons scattered all throughout the level brackets. It launched with 1 raid. They’ve been releasing new zones, quests, dungeons and raids for 18 years. It’s ludicrous that ppl are complaining about a lack of content in D4 after only 3 months.
released in 2010 … and i did say later they released expansions
so i didnt forgot
thats because you DONT think … google it.
Blizzard admit itself … they talked about openly how they shut down the studio and changed the male diablo into female diablo … its on youtube
and you can also google when the company was sold to activision …
its all facts … it doesnt matter you dont believe it, truth is true
its just how games are made these days. Its a marketing concept.
It has nothing to do with the franchise. The quality of PC games got worse and worse over the years and we just hit an alltime low this year.
However Diablo4 will certainly grow over time, cant say that for many other games that got released in a bad shape this year.
Large game studios can do this because the customer base is not smart, and keeps preordering games, and so studios can easily fix the game after launch since so many will buy it anyway.
If the gamers didnt buy a game until launch day, and only after confirming its in a decent state, then every studio would come out the gate swinging for the fences. They are not motivated to do this financially, and its easier for them to develop a partial game for launch then fix it up as needed. So long as the money comes in they will do tis.
Not every developer is like this however.
I expect D4 to grow like D3 did, not at all, just an expansion to fix endgame, a new, poorly designed class that wasnt very fun to play, then maintenance mode. Theyll do this because it worked for D3, people still bought D4 anyway. Theyll announce D5 i bet shortly after the first expansion and start farming those preorders lol.
Build a game to 25% > Sell access to the game as “Early Access” (to get paid testers instead of paying a Q&A team) > Continue building the game to about 50% complete, and release it > Continue to build the game to 75% and release as a new expansion > continue building and finally release the full game 100% at 2nd expansion.
A lot of that process depends on the level of interest from us and their ability to exploit us.
Activision’s formula throws in a lot more opportunities to milk their player base in between each segment.
D3 not really fixed after expansion, I remembered I quit after having the expansion few months later, it only took off in those late seasons when the Devs decides to let loose and patch fun stuff on seasons 25 onwards.
Do note D3 was severely discounted as well to bring in those lost souls that ran out of games to play.
It was really one hell of a ride for that game and now it’s D4’s turn unfortunately. Activision ruining all these great titles.
They are getting worse with each new release such as, more predatory in monetization, less product, and more like a free-to-play but you have to pay for the game too.
Alot like EA games.
