I’m going to definitely be building me a WW barb… Loved seeing the one item that made barb do a shadow clone. >…> ofc WW it will become a meta. lol… but… I always have a WW barb in each one of the games.
already got a portion of the gameplan. but… really need to see unique items, and more legendary affixes to see whats going to take it to the next level.

Everybody is saying that fire is the way to go for sorc endgame. I love frost, since the good old d2 and I’m willing to give it a try at launch. Play your first playthrough the way you want and like. Enjoy the journey. Find what you think is good and what you think is bad. You only get one first time, so go on and try stuff. When seasons launch with leaderboards, then the game will be more competitive. Until then, play the way you like. That’s what I’m gonna do!

I will not watch any of the early game reviews. The only problem is that a lot of people will watch and get min/max builds and guides that give them an unfair advantage. Way to blow it Blizzard!
Yeah I’m not one to follow builds, I don’t mind seeing others inputs on builds to get some ideas of how mechanics work but following it word for word takes the fun out of making your own style and discovering stuff. Most of the stuff is just speculation / theory crafting right now anyway with no hardcore trial and error. So far I haven’t seen anyone using my build yet so I am pretty satisfied with trying it out on game day.
It’s always better to learn how the skills work and why they do what they do rather than just following a guide and speed running through content. Some of what is already out there is reliant on other factors other than gear, skill, passive and paragon selection to really achieve its potential. If you don’t understand how some of the stacking mechanics work or which status buffs or debuffs are present than you won’t have nearly as easy of a time with content as the person who created the build.
The strongest build guide might not be the strongest build for you. Read the tooltips of all the skills and select the appropriate path for those skills as you power them up. The higher DPS option of each skill is not always the best answer. Sometimes you will need fortify from a certain skill over DPS and a status ailment like vulnerable from another skill to make you main damage dealer hit the hardest.
Those are things that people rarely learn from guides because they are interested in the end instead of the means. Once you learn how the game works there aren’t necessarily any wrong builds, rather there are more efficient builds, which will likely require tweaking depending on how lucky you get with your drops.

I believe we have to enjoy our own discovery which can lead to own failure occasionally. But since most of the first skills can be easily redistributed then you can expirement as much time as you need.

I might for seasons, but not likely with my first character.
Even the colours of the skills help to build your own build. Their own manual will also highlight them.
I wouldn’t mind a visual option where you can re-arrange the skill tree “wrenches” in the main cathegories in organized lines as some of the D4 skill sites do. Maybe we should get such things in future updates.
i’m 100 making my own builds. The only reason i’m watching streamers is because you might misunderstand a skill, and the way they explain it makes you realise it’s utility. Aside from that, my paragon boarding and skill path is mine

I never follow streamers or build guides and generally always end up with builds that outshine the Sheep who do follow others. I just chalk this up to two main things. People posting build guides are probably not posting the most effective build they’ve figured out (so they keep an advantage over the clones). And people who follow other people like this, usually can’t think for themselves anyways. So even if the build is good, the representation of said player is probably lacking in one way or another.
Pretty much this.
They have builds they want their consumer using, and builds they keep private. They also have yet other builds for the stuff they’re currently trash talking to “discover” later down the line for that “OMG THIS TRASH CLASS I BAGGED OUT MONTHS AGO IS ACTUALLY OP” for the extra click bait.

I mean there is no meta right now, but even no after the fact (gotta throw in here that I realize that even an assorted mix is still a “meta” for smartass response prevention)
I’ll be doing the HC 100 challenge with no knowledge of anything beyond Act 1 so there will be a lot of guesswork involved here XD

I’m going to just play the game like I did in D2 and D3 and enjoy the hell out of it. No need to go all world of Warcraft on this game and worry about stupid builds and talents . Just have fun

For the most part the guides that are out there now are likely quite strong builds, but what they don’t do is tell you how to play the class. As I’m preparing to play druid myself I am watching some videos to see how players plan to put together their builds so I can learn what skills, passives and aspects synergize with one another. And that is about all these guides are telling you. What works when paired together. Not how to actually make those combinations actually work.
The average player if they follow the guide skill for skill and piece by piece will experience likely a mild level of success versus learning how to do it on their own, but what they do is lock themselves into a particular path that may not suit their play style.
Using Druid as an example you have so many moving parts of a build that increase damage potential such as terramotes, fortify, healthy, plus other conditions like CC or status effects that unleash the full potential of builds. Again the average player is going to mash buttons and miss those max stacks and can still be successful but there is probably a better build that suits a more frantic play style that doesn’t require all of those conditions working together that is easier to play.
Better guides to watch for 90% of the players would be guides like Rhykker’s basic mechanics which explains which things are additive and multiplicative plus goes over topics like damage buckets. Understanding that will do more to boost your damage than any build guide. Wujido also put out a blacksmith guide that also gets into break points where your minimum rolls on equipment can get a massive upgrade for minimal cost if you pay attention to the advanced stats closely.
Those are the guides people need to see and then look into several class guides to see how certain skills interact. But also be wary of which conditions are needed to get the most of your builds because it’s not always as easy as those guys make it look. What they have is a deep knowledge of the basic and advanced game mechanics which helps unlock the true potential of any build. And knowledge of those mechanics is where every player needs to start before they even attempt to play those types of builds.
I won’t be. I am smart enough to make my own build. It probably won’t be the best completely min/maxed build but it will be good enough to clear any content. If it isn’t then I am smart enough to figure out how to adjust it.
You’ll be weak AF until 70. Druid is an end game class. Not saying it’s good, bad, right or wrong but make sure that this is the right class for you.
I’m doing Druid.
Furballs unite man.
Gonna play with my own groove, and improve from there. Might not end up being end game quality, but I’m sure as hell gonna shake it till it makes it.
Hell yea dude! That’s all we can do
Yup, best way to do it to, you learn the skills as you go
