Honestly it gets old following streamers and try harder builds to play a game. I intend to make my own mistakes and test out each skill on my own with 0 rush to end game and exploring every dead flower along the way.
I will be making my own that I did in beta if it’s still the best for me. I really liked the firewall build with constant shields (edit: sorry, barriers). I’ll be playing hardcore. ![]()
Tricks and traps rogue. It’s a fun playstyle, which of course can be modified for ranged or melee depending on how I want to go. That said, I tried rapid fire and felt it was lacking something. Sure it’s a press and you get x shots, but it felt…. Off.
Much prefer flurry as my AoE/ mob cracker.
Same goes for the sorc though, everyone rocking chain lightning and I felt it was naff (this was pre nerf by the by), so I went Ice shards (which was hilariously fun).
Streamers are good for getting things nerfed and teaching people who cant figure stuff out on there own. I too am going to try combo points flurry and posion trap over twisting blades. Rapid fire was outstanding to level with but got old for dungeon clearing.
I’ll be making my own build and maybe checking endgame builds if I hit a wall to see what they have done differently. I don’t suspect I’ll need to compare until doing nightmare dungeons, but you never know.
Streamers are attention starved teens and those who follow them are sheep. Pay no attention.
I made my own build, it’s more fun that way and I feel like I learn better that way too.
What build I choose will largely depend on what legendary equipment I get and it’ll likely change over time.
You should be aware of the builds but go ahead and build into whatever legendary items you get.
For games like this, I’ll make my own builds. Down the line I’ll check out streamer builds to see if they have something interesting or fun I can try.
I’m doing my own thing … but … I do intend to still use the build-planner websites’ software to theory-craft as I go. ![]()
My Werewolf Druid might end up getting Skinned and Hanging on somebody’s wall … but I will look darn good on that wall.

I dont know if i roll druid rogue or necro. I alredy made the build for the first 2. I dont care about the noobs. And the press release ruined the hardcore race to me.
So just goin to have fun.
I purposely didn’t play Barb over the course of the 3 weekend betas and I fully intend to go about it blind.
I never watch that stuff and I do fine in these games. The Diablo franchise isn’t exactly the most difficult thing anyway. If the people that have trouble would slow down long enought to read, pay attention, and think about the things in front of them, then they would have considerably less issues.
I’ll check out some builds down the road, but I don’t buy games just to have somebody else tell me how to play it.
I felt that way about RF myself.
I love how explosive the flurry combo gets with shadow imbuement. Caltrops I found DOES misfire if you don’t have space though.
It’s a fun one to be sure. Probably see it up on the meta build sites ![]()
My first intro to Diablo was 3 and not knowing much about it made it more fun to learn. So I will be not following builds unless I am really messed up and cant advance in lvls.
I typically never look up builds and metas outside of WoW, when I used to raid. It’s way more entertaining for me to experiment and change stuff based around the gear I have.
Yeah i’ll be running with what i find fun. That said, i also like to make decent choices for spells etc so it’s not like i’ma be going out of my way to do weak damage lol
It all depends on skill reset price point. If its affordable I will allow myself a lot of mistakes going on my own trying not-so-optimal builds, but if I need to remortgage everytime I might check up some successful builds.
Same here. Looking up builds just spoils exploring the game for myself and theorycrafting my own builds. I used to be hardcore min/max, follow guides, look up everything and rush to end game but then I found myself burning out quickly and outpacing content releases. It’s much more enjoyable to stop and read the quests, listen to the audio, figure out my own skills through trial and error.
