Anyone else kind of want to go back to Diablo 3?

To start I absolutely loved Diablo 4 while doing the campaign. The story, cut scenes and overall presentation was really good. I also got upgrades pretty frequently and could somewhat feel my power grow.

After finishing that up and unlocking World Tier 3 though I’m bored.

There is just to much everything to be honest. The level scaling is a big negative. I actually don’t want to level now. The prefixes and suffixes that drop on weapons and gear are just insanely to numerous. Finding an upgrade is a rarer then (put in whatever funny comment here).

Running back and forth all over literally everything is boring. The amount of resources and gold required to reroll gear or apply aspects is just ridiculously high!

Unlocking renown takes forever and a day.

Nerf after nerf after nerf is self explanatory.

No grouping features or party finder. Heck, no lobbies or anything.

The game is just a constant grind to not get better, but to simply HOPE you actually scale enough to match all of the dang mobs who are going to scale. If you do, congratulations. You can now continue grinding at the exact same slow pace you always have been. THAT’s the BEST possible option.

The game has just gotten boring at “end game”.

Yeah, most of us bashed Diablo 3 at release but outside of the cartoon looking world the game was/is just more fun, period.

Just having to ride a horse to an ND and to have one of the FOUR tabs filled with ND keys makes me want to go back. In D3 you have a single stack-able key for GRs and you choose your difficulty. Plus you don’t get chain CCed or one shot from out of the screen in higher difficulties. 100 times better.

Back to D2R till PoE 2.

On WT3 you basically just want to update your gear to sacred. Have some significant aspects and you are good to go for several levels, i would even guess up to lvl 70. I updated my stuff as soon as possible to sacred and have like 3 aspects that are actually doing stuff for my build and i am clearing the content with ease from like 52 to 64 now. Only thing i am doing now is farming more aspects and getting some better aspects for my build to do more damage.

No need to reroll any stats right now, that will come on WT4.

I dont know what you did from lvl 1-50, but i salvaged all my items to have enough resources to upgrade my gear or any other stuff. Right now i am selling all items to get the gold and its quite ridiculous how easy gold farming is that way. Though, if you are actually re-rolling on WT3, most likely even legendary gear, and thus basically waste your resources for nothing would be kinda your fault then.

Cant disagree with that, but its still something to do. If you finished all of that stuff its just about running dungeons and getting rare resources from like Helltides or simply running around the overworld for angel breath.

Yeah, its called balancing the game. Quite shocking that this happens, only because Blizzard didnt have 500.000 testers for everything so the balance would be perfect on release.

That is indeed a shame.

Thats not really true, like i stated above. If you are getting the right gear, then you are clearing the content easily. What does become a pain at higher levels is the survivabilty.

WT4 is endgame. WT3 is the start of the real game. WT1-2 is a slog tutorial, depending on what character you are playing.

I kind of agree. Diablo 3 lost people on cartoon factor and a crappy launch, but it turned out to be really fun later in life.

I hope that 4 gets a lot of work over time to improve as well, because I feel like this has almost no longevity for me as it is.

hello no lol. but i get you-it’s too hard.
the graphics are too good, and you really have to struggle.

diablo 3 = casual game.

don’t worry after you toss around with this chick, that fat chick(d3) will look really hot to you

I disagree with that sentiment. All the game’s activities open up in WT3. The only difference is gear level and enemy difficulty.

Sure the activities open up, but only on WT4 everything becomes available to you.

No, I just wanted a game that was developed for the year 2023.

Instead I got a game that uses the same power scaling D3 used. Overly simplistic class design and itemization. One of the worst UI’s ever released.

Most of D4 is based on the same ideas D3 used – presented with updated graphics and some twists here or there. So if you liked D3, you’ll mostly like D4. Other than the fact you can’t sit in town and do rifts. There isn’t much different going on here.

There is no innovation in this game. It sold because of the diablo brand and marketing. Most people aren’t going to use the shop or keep playing this game if blizzard doesnt’ react quickly on the problems.

They’ve lost so much revenue long term because they released the game unpolished.

What do you mean by same power scaling as Diablo 3? I don’t think Diablo 3 does scaling like Diablo 4 at all.

The UI needs to translate to console so UI sucks.
They want level 10 and 80 to be able to play together, so we have level scaling which ruins the game.
They went with slow combat ie low mob density with huge health pools, resource system where you need to use crappy skills 9/10ths of the time, cast the spell you actually want to use twice and you’re back to your basic skill.
Itemization I don’t even know what they were going for, it’s the worst I’ve seen with item power and uninteresting stats.
Skill tree is a straight line that basically fills itself out when you pick which core skill you want, then your items basically pick themselves too to modify your skill.

Lol nope, I never want to touch that game again. I have been feeling like that for years now.

I’m still having fun mixing up playing D2R, D3, and D4.

What is missing? I can craft sigils and run NM dungeons along with the rest of the open world stuff.
