Anyone else getting headache’s / nausea from being so far up your characters butt? After about 30 minutes to an hour this game just makes me feel AWFUL.
The max zoom for character is WAY too close. You can’t even zoom the mini map. I’m constantly having to open the world map to see 5 foot in front of my character.
I have a 36" UW not a 5" phone screen. Moving 20 feet shouldn’t feel like I’m traversing the Marianas trench.
Please increase the max character zoom distance. Please also add the ability to zoom in / out the mini map.
Yes, I am prone to motion sickness with video games. I got into D2 because it was accessible to me and did not make me sick! And then the rest was history with me falling in love with the franchise.
Alas, I have a limited play time with D4 right now. When I start to feel crappy enough I have to take a break. Headache and just overall unwell.
A further zoom out distance would be greatly appreciated. When I gained access to my horse and hopped onto it for the first time my immediate reaction upon the camera zooming out slightly was “Wow, I wish this was the default camera distance.”
It’s weird I haven’t had an issue with any other game but Diablo 4. After about 30 minutes or so it’s just unbearable.
Yes. It’s very noticeable on/off the mount and quite a few zone transitions. I cannot understand why we can’t just control the zoom manually. It’s like I’m playing a cheap gatcha phone game. I physically cannot play longer than 30 minutes or so.
I have the issue with any First Person style game, esp shooters and fast paced things. Always have. I can play third person perspective if zoomed out enough.
I also get about 30 mins of playtime before I need a break from D4. Quite frustrating, as all the other Diablo games are fine and even WoW is fine at max zoom.
What’s funny is that in some boss fights they change the zoom for you so you can see a larger area! So it CAN be done.
I can see a few arguments from Blizzard’s perspective that allowing more zoom out would break the game (makes finding alters a breeze, gives ranged chars more of a benefit, etc). But IMO that is their problem to fix and they should have addressed those during design/dev instead of forcing the high amount of zoom in on us.
Okay well just because it’s fine for you doesn’t mean it’s fine for everyone.
Yeah I don’t know how they can claim it’s immersion / game breaking. Opening the clunky world map every 5-10 steps is game breaking when the camera could be pulled out a bit or the minimap could be zoomable.
Everyone needs more zoom out. Literally EVERY boss fight sucks because of the zoom level. You have the UI on the bottom, the UI on the top, and most of the time you’re trying to anticipate where the boss is among all of the other junk onscreen because you’re so zoomed in half the time you’re too far away from the boss to even see it properly.
Everyone keeps complaining that the game is zoomed in too much, yet if you compare it with D3, the zoom levels are about the same. I’ve posted several screenshots comparing the two, and they are similar.
It could be that many monsters are larger than in D3, although the common mobs are about the same. Or maybe the more detailed, darker graphics don’t provide as much contrast as the sharper, more cartoony graphics of d3.
Really? I have not done a direct comparison. All I know is I get about 30 mins into D4 and I get a bad headache and have to stop. So far I have only had that with games that make me motion sick.
I know to stop before my stomach turns or I feel terrible for hours and it can turn into a migraine.
yes, its too zoomed in on bigger screens. gives me headache and playing the game is really exhausting… its not a relaxing experience on a big screen while sitting at my desk.
UI-scaling would also be great. my actionbar is waaaay to big.
I’m nauseous due to motion sickness in about 30 minutes of playing.
This happens with certain games and me, due to default field of view. Changing the field of view has fixed it, but this doesn’t offer that option.
It literally takes me about an hour or two to feel back to normal, after only 30 minutes of game play.
There’s a zoom transition point when approaching/departing the Tree of Whispers that’s PERFECT.
At the Tree itself it’s a tad far - but pay close attention to when you’re approaching & departing it and the camera begins to zoom out & reset respectively.
Ah that’s the prime Zoom distance this game needs.
In the original first beta they had characters zoomed out (kinda like boss fights) which I feel is much more pleasing to look at.
Then people complained and instead of accommodating ultrawide monitor users (like myself) they just force zoomed everyone in more. So the people with smaller monitors now suffer, and ultrawide are still better.
Classic blizzard, making the game worse instead of just letting it go. This was their solution to the advantage UW users had.
