I guess some people have low standards because the story was atrocious, Worst in the trilogy by far. Inarius had no screen time apart from cinematics even tho he was hyped up and all game it’s just fetch quests or going somewhere knowing lilith isn’t there but then your character is like “oh wow she already left I can’t believe we didn’t catch her” like 10 times. Then there’s the big cinematic hinting that there’s going to be an epic battle between demons and inarius’s followers but in reality it’s just a cutscene and we just casually march on through the battlefield to chase lilith. like bruh, all round boring bland and predictable.
Innarius just felt like an afterthought the whole game, I was given no reason to think about him at all, then… what happened happened and I didn’t care.
I guess that sums it up.
I really like the story just wished the boss fights had lived up to it.
he will be back the story is long from over
i liked the story allot tbh
i think it was pretty bad. only memorable part was doing drugs in the jungle and following a snake.
That and sleeping with fishes in a coffin.
Neyrelle is Girl Wonder swooping in and taking all the credit. Then the game tries to force me to show concern and affection for her stank Kerrigan 2.0 messiah asz.
My necro has dialogue that makes you act like some random rogue, completely clueless about magical rituals, disgusted by corpses, largely riding the backseat in the Lorath/Neyrelle/Donan train.
They try to make you feel sad about Donan but wjen the game 95% of the time just shows you some bald fat npc whose face you rarely see due to the angle, and the lighting in the game makes so many characters look black when they aren’t, when you see their face in a cinematic it’s a disconnect. There’s no real attachment.
I think the story just suffered from the game being open world. It was just quest events thrown in at random parts of the maps. Even a lot of the dungeons shared layouts of other dungeons. Nothing was really unique that I can remember aside from some characters.
The last 2 diablo games had the world built around the story, so the locations are memorable. Even if the story sucked or not.
Yes, hopefully Mephisto will consume her.
Yes, and even D2 acknowledged the characters’ class, but D4? Necromancer doesn’t know who Rathma is. Can summon skeletons and golems and no one cares. I believe mentions Balance in one single line during whole game.
We are going to get female Mephisto, aren’t we?
The story was terrible. It was a complete mess. It may have been how they presented it, but a lot of it felt like they didn’t really have a concrete direction. I get the sense they wanted to create a massive cliff hanger for future expansions but they failed miserably. I’m completely indifferent about the story now.
the phasing is bad + scooby doo. we’ve got better story telling from D3.
No not at all
20 characters
I’ve seen better stories on Mr. Beast ngl.
Yes. Much disappointment
Loved the story. Thought it was the best overall of the series but I pretty much like all of them.
I thought the story was actually really well done, if not for the fact that its starting to reflect some questionable content.
I did find it strange how it appeared to take a lot of inspiration from how Disney made the new Maleficient movies with Angelina Jolie… Lilith even almost looks like a demonic Maleficient.
Quite liked the first and second act (minus Rathma). It kinda started to fall off when we went after the pale man.
bad ending, no closure, zero subtility pointing to the next xpack, without a date to wait for.
decent story, terrible ending. for now.
let’s just say that i wasnt clapping when the credits rolled…
