Thanks…hard pass though on a build requiring a practically unseen unique

Zolmation has a decent looking shred build that he has linked a couple times. There are some okay ones you can Google pretty quickly.

The thing to keep in mind though is what your definition of viable is. If you’re looking for a WW Barb / Death Trap Rogue / Ice Sorc / Bone Spear Necro equivalent then you’ll have to wait for those rare uniques, and at that point you’re not really playing werewolf so much as a caster in a fursuit.

Heh…I guess at this point viable == able to clear capstone 70 to get to T4

I’m currently doing T50s at level 77 with a Blurred Beast poison/shred build. Everything dies instantly to a dashing shred or two once the poison is applied. I’ve seen some hits anywhere between 600k to 10million damage. Seems pretty viable to me, but I haven’t had a Tempest Roar drop yet so that could still be better.

10 million? Teach me your ways, I’m 81 and am lucky to see a 100k.

Since you dislike builds reliant on specific uniques, your options are Shred or Stoneclaw. I’d do Stoneclaw between the two.

Appreciate it…and…yea I’m all about the ones that rely on uniques if I could…you know…actually get them

Apparently Storm Claw is great endgame- but requires FOUR unqiues to work. I’ve got 3 of them, but the Melted Heart of Selig appears extremely rare.

Combine Poison Creeper, Rabies, Stormclaw, Blurred Beast, and the extra crit damage from the two Dire Wolf aspects and you get some weird spaghetti code that results in absurd numbers. Every Shred dash takes massive chunks of health out of world bosses.

I believe this is because Blurred Beast doesn’t just make the poison damage insant, it actually adds all that poison damage to your base damage, which is modified by literally everything on your gear and paragon boards. All those damage modifiers stack, and then Toxic Claws takes a % of that damage you dealt and stacks into your next dash and it just gets a bit crazy.

You get those numbers because there’s actually two types of poison based damage: poison and poisoning. Poisoning damage is in the damage over time category so cannot crit or overpower. It still does decent damage since resistances are broken so bypasses the built-in ~60% DR monsters have vs physical through armor.

Poison damage is applied instantly and falls under the standard attack damage formula so can crit and/or overpower. It still benefits from the resistance thing and bypasses armor as well.

Both types of damage are boosted by +poison damage affixes and paragon nodes. You can stack some decent numbers with it for sure. To get the most poison applied you have to take poison shred and lose 2 possibilities of triggering BB. The abilities and aspect work against each other currently.

Show a pic of 10mil damage at level 77. Guarantee you cant.

You might be replying to the wrong person. They’re not my numbers. I was just explaining how you can see large numbers from that aspect. It’s due to having access to all multiplicative damage buckets. A lot of people don’t know about the difference between poisoning and instant poison damage as far as calcs go. That’s all I was trying to point out.

The maxroll stormclaw build is great… i was pulverize fully geared and got the crones staff finally and jumped 20 nightmare levels switching to stormclaw… once i get a tempest roar and go tornado i would assume i can do 70+

That’s interesting…I just got the crones staff…anyone have a link to a good Stormclaw build?

I can’t include links in my post, sadly, or I would share. The best way to explain why my damage is so high is that Blurred Beast on my 2H weapon adds 180% of the poison I have applied to my targets, to my weapon as direct poison damage.

So for example, my weapon does 2000 damage and I’ve applied Poison Creeper to a pack of 3 elites for 45,000 damage over 6 seconds. 180% of 45,000 is 81,000. Because I have Blurred Beast when I dash and 3 enemies are tagged with the poison, that damage gets tripled and added to my weapon damage. My weapon now does 245,000 damage, and this number is then affected by my primary stat, my crit damage, my vulnerable damage, my gear and paragon bonuses, etcetera.

And then when I do happen to crit, Stormclaw’s Aspect and Toxic Claws both come into play, which is a whole other level of stacking absurd numbers.

Isnt Toxic Claw “base” damage so it doesnt really see huge increases from crit damage/vulnerable damage.

I didn’t notice a damage difference when specd for blurred beast vs just shred.

It is base damage, but with Blurred Beast your base damage is suddenly much more impressive, and then you take the poison from Toxic Claws and that gets added to the next Blurred Beast dash. Often times my damage will ramp up even higher over the course of a 3-dash chain.
