That’s actually true. There is/was malware that tries to do exactly that. There’s even a term for it as it relates to crypto mining called cryptojacking.
These people know nothing about open source software. When something is open source they are audited mercilessly by other developers to make sure that it does not contain malware. That doesn’t mean that all open source software are malware free, people can make mistakes but that’s the advantage of being open source. Only people that don’t know anything about software would just draw conclusions like that.
But he’s an IT expert LMAO.
IT “experts” are the worst kind of experts. It means they think they know everything when they just load printers with paper when they are empty.
That is a closed source program where people cant audit the code. I’ve said it many times, the one I use and many others on here have stated that they are using is the Chia program which is an open source program that is audited to not contain any malware.
Not disagreeing with you at all, I think you all got flagged wrongly due to an update on Blizzard’s side since it’s apparent you’ve been playing D4 for a while with the crypto app running.
You think because it’s open source that means it’s audited?!?!?
LUL how naive can you be.
You have to pay for an audit. They are not free. I doubt anyone has audited a crypto miner LUL.
The founder of the Chia program paid for audits… LUL
Yeah, but my point wasn’t even about having malware or not, but saying how it may have a malware which hijacks servers and even may cause lags on D4 server is some real redneck tinfoil hat theory
Sure he did. Have you seen the audit?
I doubt it.
If there is smoke…. Just saying. There seems to be a common denominator here.
I haven’t seen it myself but you haven’t seen it either. But I know that the founder publicly stated that he paid for audits.
Oh well if he said so I guess it’s true /sarcasm.
Yeah people actually do tell that truth sometimes. Isn’t that unbelieveable.
Sure, a crypto miner scammer is a trust worthy source.
You’re being scammed right now by your government with 10% inflation a year. LUL.
You are a big crypto miner. Surely you can just buy another copy of the game and barely notice the cost right?
Buddy, all you have are assumptions about people and what they do. You know nothing.
I’m pretty sure you are all scammers, RMTers, or bot farmers.
I have zero sympathy for you.
I don’t understand the specifics myself, but I suspect whatever Blizzard is using to detect cheats must be checking for some suspicious activity happening on the GPU which Chia is probably tripping. My assumption is that Chia uses GPU power for what it does.
OP shouldn’t have gotten banned just for crypto mining, that sucks.
