If you want proof just put every item you have with + damage on it and see how crazy your score gets. Additive stats aren’t that great lol
Please enlighten us all then, guy.
How does it work?
If it’s the best gauge of dmg then why can I do pit 90 in less than 10 mins with 50k attack power?
It doesn’t take into account any of your %(x) damage. And those are the numbers that typically matter most.
Best way is to show us your build and your gear
Is that in town? not that it means much at all, but yeah i am 70- 100k plus in battle with the multiplicative running on and off, In town around 25k-27k 58 top clear on a bleed Build so far, average gear SSF, 46 on all glyphs.but I think too much is busted to push it further without grinding for perfect gear or better gear. It just hit a ceiling and there is little room to do anything else.
Imo Crit chance apects and passives are not working, and It also appears since mid season patch my with barrier X multi got cooked, as that was a big part of my build with basically perma barrier upkeep, the whole thing got pushed into T2 after the patch so Things are likely needed a tune up imo, or my character got overcooked in the patch and is ruined, becasue i also had a repair needed in my files after that update and lots of bugging out, so who knows i will need to cross check iwth at fresh barb, I guess,
THIS is all that needs to be posted…in most, if not all, topics…
Conceited doesn’t work again? Lol, they have had that problem since forever. I was contemplating a permanent Barrier Soulbrand/Temerity/Iron Skin/Deflecting Barrier etc.
My attack power scales from 45k in town to well over 600k depending on active buffs. It is not a true gauge of dps but it can help you keep track of a few things, like base damage buffs, or whether an item is an improvement or not (not factoring multipliers of course). It’s finnicky to understand but you get it eventually.
It’s not? bleh was thinking of running it and swapping in iron skin to replace stomp =\
guess theres always elements
So what of attack power being advertised as the best measure?
It’s not the best measure; it’s the only measure we have and a poor one at that. I took my barb from 27k to 47k after finding a GF. At 27k I can comfortably do pit 68, after with 47k, I still struggle to do a pit 70. The GF definitely helped for mobs but not as much as you would think. And against the pit bosses it hasn’t really helped much.
So, almost doubling your Attack Power with a MYTHIC and the net result is being able to do +2 Levels of a Pit. I think it is safe to say that Attack Power is a worthless and ambiguous metric.
Yep, pretty much worthless as an indicator of power. Don’t get me wrong I can definitely feel it especially against mobs but I figured if I found a mythic like that it would at least be worth a few levels. I can do a 70 now, but it’s down to the wire. I’m still tweaking things who knows…
I looked this over again. I have decked out druids, spiritborn, and barb. The most powerful is my stone druid. Thing is, my barb is maxed out with 123646 attack power 66.5 pct crit, and 3984.4 crit dmg. My other chars have far less AP and crit dmg–but do as well. Please someone ask the devs how this could be. I’m still not able to run high level encounters.
If you are a WW barb that much crit damage might be good, but HOTA, DB, EQ’s, MT, needs overpower and something to proc it often. You also need to make sure Berserking is up all the time WC, WOTB, give a huge boost to damage while active and berserking.
I have all these things and still can’t do a level 4 boss encounter.
You are dodging my main point. There is some class-preference damage factor in place.
