About extracted aspects after codex update

Hello, I paid some attention mainly on the codex evolve part. Actually I (think I) understand how it would work in the future. Breaking a leg with a better roll will update permanently in the codex, this I got it.
But during all past seasons, I have been extracting a lot of maxrolled aspects so I could store them in the aspects tab and save my characters main inventory tab. Then… will they all be lost? Or will Blizzard “check” them and transfer onto the new megacodex?
That point was quite unclear for me. e.g. I got a item with starlight aspect at 40 mana, which I extracted. I currently have no other item with such a roll and would hate loosing that maxroll…

Meant to reply to this earlier. Had the tab open!

Stored Aspects will be moved to the Codex of Power for your Eternal character seamlessly when the season ends. It will take the highest of each Aspect that you may have collected into the new Codex.

So, let’s say you have an Aspect in your stash on your Eternal character and Season 4 begins, the Aspect will be automatically added to your codex and Aspect item will be destroyed.

But let’s say you had a max roll of that same Aspect from your season 4 character’s stash, it will then seamlessly replace your lower roll Aspect in Eternal and forever be in your Eternal codex that way.

Just a small caveat is that this happens automatically for anything in your account stash when the season transition occurs. If you have them in a specific alt character’s inventory, you will need to just hop on them after the Season rollover and those will then seamlessly move to the Codex as well.

The seasonal codex does reset. The eternal one is forever.

holy hell you’re up late…or up early

eh , it will help a great deal in the lack of space of chest in eternal.
i still think it would be great if we could have 3 non-shared stash tab and 2 shared instead of 5 shared.

but still , this is great improvement in term of space for eternal realm and seasonal too

Jokes aside, good change, this is how I always imagine it should work.

It’s proof it’s the end times! Tbh though I’m thrilled our codex has everything and gets updated for all characters seamlessly like this.

Now we just need more Aspects and/or Tempering affixes in the future to build the way we want, and paragon boards, and perhaps more glyphs (or updates to glyphs like magic).

Perfect improvement. The previous system was very stupid. I have 3 chest tabs with the best aspects.

Thanks for the clarification, much appreciated. I can now sleep well, my dream litterally came true, no sarcasm, I mean it!
It was a nightmare trying to clean up all those duplicate maxrolled aspects and having dilemma which one to throw away  Thank you Blizzard for answering my prayers

Sounds like eternal players probably only need to extract their high aspect rolls if they’re still on the gear and everything is done for you. Makes eternal a little more enticing since you’ll never have to find, save, or store a leggo with that aspect again…ever. At the same time it makes it a little more boring. But that’s just a personal choice.

I think it’d be great if we could have more then freaking 5 or 6 or whatever it is now. 20 at least

After this change you might not even need that many tabs. The big issue was you held onto legendaries with good rolled aspects for later use and those would clog up your stash. Their removal frees up a ton of space in the stash and if you need more tabs on top of that, you have a bit of a hoarding problem.

just saying! i love how you seem quite active here the last days! The community for sure needed that ^^

I hope this will be a thing in the future as well from either you or other cms^^

With changes to affix count on rares, people probably won’t need to save as many of those, either, plus they can sell legendaries that they don’t expect to need to other players. Stashes should be good to go.

The Aspect going straight into the codex was a great announcement. Will definitely open up some stash space. Pretty sure they’re eating up 4 stash tabs for me right now.

Except now you are going to need multiple of the same equipment piece with hopefully the same Affixes/Greater Affixes so you can Temper them. There is a high chance you will Burn and item and Tempering has you locked into whatever RNG gives you.

At least with Aspects previously you can Imprint over something indefinitely. You only had to find an item with 3 Affixes you needed with good rolls since you could Enchant the 4th. That was already a lot of RNG. Now…it is more. For whatever you saved with Aspects now, you will be toting around tons of Legendary gear clogging up everything.

Except you’ll be finding more usable bases more often. You only need to find an item with two affixes you need, enchant your desired third one on and then try your hand with the tempering. Though you should probably temper first before enchanting so you don’t waste enchanting costs on an item that can brick. If it bricks just sell it or salvage it and go find another one.

No need to hold onto a whole stash of items just to do one big tempering session for them all. The only things you might want to hold onto is items with greater affixes you want for other characters and after this update you should have a ton of room for them. For me, my stash is going to be nearly empty save one tab after this update.

So glad we got confirmation on this. Had I known the extent of the codex rework I probably would’ve added it into my initial question of what happens to current items when the patch hits. Great update though. :+1:

Except now the only pool of items that matters are Legendary items.
