which unless they they change something will likely be rarer
I think the comment they even made was they are reducing drop rate frequency also by a lot, so we will need to wait and see on that.
Please donât do it this way. I donât want my found aspects to become irrelevant in a week every season or irrelevant forever in eternal.
Letting us store a few of our highest rolls inside the codex works out nearly the same but without the built-in irrelevance after a bit of playtime.
They are actually going to pare down the number of aspects by getting rid of the useless multi conditional aspects, âSkill A Crit increases x% when affected by Skill B but only on odd hoursâ for instance. Yeah, that is not really an aspect, but you get the idea. While they will probably still be introducing new aspects each season, I suspect some will be seasonal only and others will be permanent.
yea, which isnât good if you need legendaries or uniques
Anything without a range to it you only need to find 1 of.
Anything that has a range to it, you will not find a Max Roll until WT4. You can find a high roll, but there will be still room.
Anything that has an X value is dependent on the iLvl of the range so you wonât find a max level of one of these until you are getting that 925 gear.
This is all hilarious because the X values tend to not be as good as the % value Aspects.
It is a good idea, but surprised they did not go the route of having to upgrade and instead the highest found Aspect when Salvaged automatically goes into Codex.
If they went with it as a straight up point by point upgrade system I think Iâd mind it a little less since it would still take a little while to get there, but having it upgrade all the way to the highest roll extracted immediately seems like a mistake for sure. I still feel like the ability to store a few of our highest rolls in the codex is healthier long-term, but is what it is.
I think codex went too far, should just store the aspect you extract as that was the only issue with aspects currently they fill up the aspects tab and then inventory. All that needed to happen is once extracted it goes into the codex at that strength So its up to you which power levels you store in the codex and you have default powers as is now. I donât like this marked item ranking in the codex thing. Too streamlined gives me no control or finds component to the aspects. Maybe it wont matter in game with the new stuff, but it looks overly streamlined imo
Just WOW! Really impressed with such elegant solution, kudos!!!
You are confussing Affixes with Aspects. There will now be 3 base affixes (with room for two more from the new pool through Tempering. This has no effect on Aspects. There wiill still be only one Aspect per Legendary, and you can still redo the Aspect whenever you get a greater one or need a different one.
While I 100% agree. With the changes coming. Ehhhhh, we hardly going to holding onto anything outside of good rolled legendaries now to temper/masterwork.
In a way they fixed the stash issue lol
Weâll see lol, iâm a hoarder
I am to, I held onto a lot of rares that I thought I would use for other builds or alts. With loot kinda changing tho, and smart loot. Not going to be really holding onto anything for alts, canât really loot good things for say a sorc if I am playing barb.
And with the codex changes I wonât have to hoard copies upon copies of aspects. So idk what I am going to use stash for now aside from keeping good rolled legendaries to craft with.
I have a love hate relationship with smart loot, in some ways its nice to get things you need, in others⌠it kind of removes that âoooo, now i want to make an altâ moment.
Exactly, I like the feeling of having something really cool drop for another class and being like âohhhhh I want to try thisâ
X value are getting reworked. Oppose to fixed flat number, it now can scale with weapon dmg. Whether or not it scales with other multipliers remains to been seen. We really need them to scale properly for build diversities.
I donât think you understand what a 1 in 4 chance means for RNG, which I guess is understandable.
Currently you have roughly a 0.00011% chance of getting a 4 affix item being high rolls and all affixes you want.
Dropping the number of affixes to 3 and having less affixes to draw from gives you a 0.0009% chance to get 3 you want and high values. Thatâs like⌠9 times better chances.
So unless they reduced item drops to 1/6 youâre practically guaranteed to get better odds in gear. Then when you factor in a 1/4 chance at tempering it drops only a tiny fraction. And leaves you with better odds than finding 4 affixes in our current system.
But hereâs the rub⌠youâre not looking for 3 affixes anyway. Because it looks like one of those affixes will always be core stat. At least every image I saw in the campfire video had core stat. So that means youâre only looking for 2 stats. So your odds for finding the best drops go up even more. I think itâll land at 0.0025% which means youâve got 22 times the chance to get BiS gear compared to the current system.
Itâs mathematically better than the current system in virtually every way. Yes, you may feel bad if you have bad luck tempering but youâll have a much easier time replacing the gear, especially when you include the occultist in the equation.
Damn, I am going to have to play some more because I used up my last two perfect Rapid aspects. I have perfect versions of all the other ones that I use and many that I do not use.
iâm on eternal. i havenât extracted the aspects yet from my legendaries and the legendaries are sitting in my stash. when season 3 starts when i salvage these aspects, will the aspects that are on them go into the codex also or will i have to extract them before season 4 starts? will save me gold if i can just salvage them when the new season starts instead of extracting the aspects now
Thank you for the info Pez, I had asked that same question after the campfire.
