D4 thinks my gpu is a 4090. Even DLSS is not greyed out. Wtf?
of course not a tech expert, but eventually d4 doesnt support this graphic card yet and just sets it to 4090? i mean… you dont need a monster of a gpu for d4 ^^
I’m aware. Just brining attention to this. It’s kinda sloppy of them. But you know, small indy company.
side question, why would one need such an expensive graphics card? ^^ Im still using my 2070 super and have yet to run into issues in any game ^^
Better question is why people buy budget or mid-range GPUs. What a stupid, stupid thing to do when you have years to save up for a flagship GPU. And the truly great ones can last for multiple GPU cycles.
my 2070 super is budget? D= i got it like… id say 7 years ago ^^, im pretty satisfied ^^
Uh…Diablo 4 is not the only game I play. There are games that are much much more demanding. I feel like I am A) pointing out the obvious and B) feeding troll bait. Comments like this are off topic, and calling people stupid for buying a $1100 CAD GPU is just plain rude and inappropriate, you know who you are.
i genuinely dont know why one would need such a gpu. im currently playing monster hunter wilds if that helps.
Uh…high settings? Ray tracing? High frame rate?
Anyways, I’m out. The rude comment and the silly questions…I just can’t.
You NEVER purchase new tech. There are almost always compatibility issues and you will be paying that premium. Typically one generation behind is not that much less in performance or capability and is a fraction of the cost.
yes, yes, and 60 fps.
… what exactly was rude?..
good to know. i feel like my gpu might get close to its limits in a year or two eventually.
I think he meant to respond to Iggi? Idk tbh
he must have. I mean, iggi clearly was rude in that other thread! such a mean GOAT ( )
Was a absolutely rude comment, I guess removed because I reported it. He was all stupid stupid this and why don’t you just buy a 5090 that.
As for Nyurei’s thoughts, I’m genuinely confused why you would wonder what the point of a good GPU is. 60fps is not high frame. Ray tracing is a thing. 4k is a thing. More demanding games than this are a thing. But anyways.
Back on topic, I seriously don’t understand why coming up on a month later, the 9070xt is seen as a 4090 in this game, and why this thread is the only Google hit lol. Poor indy company I guess.
rookie numbers lol - i had a 2070 super in my last pc that just died (it had an old cpu) and it struggled till the day it died
now everything is maxed out and i run games at 150 fps
It sounds like Diablo 4 is misidentifying your GPU. There are a few things you can try to resolve this issue:
1. Update GPU Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest drivers for your AMD 9070 XT GPU. You can download the latest drivers from the AMD website. Outdated or incorrect drivers can sometimes cause the game to misidentify your hardware.
2. Check for GPU Detection Issues in the Game:
- Sometimes games can misdetect hardware. Try resetting or verifying your game files through the game launcher (such as Blizzard’s Battle.net client).
- You could also try deleting the game’s settings or configuration files and letting the game re-detect your GPU when you start it again.
3. Force GPU Identification:
- Try using a tool like AMD’s Radeon Software or MSI Afterburner to ensure your GPU is being properly identified. You may also be able to force the correct settings through these utilities.
4. Check System Settings:
- If you’re using multiple GPUs (e.g., integrated graphics and your 9070 XT), make sure your system is prioritizing the dedicated GPU.
- You can adjust this in the system BIOS or through Windows settings, depending on how your system is set up.
5. Reinstall Diablo 4:
- If the issue persists, consider reinstalling Diablo 4. This can often clear up any settings or detection bugs that are preventing the game from recognizing your GPU properly.
6. Make A Bug Report:
- If the problem isn’t resolved by any of these steps, it’s possible that it’s a known issue or bug specific to Diablo 4. Make a bug report in the appropriate forums.
guess it boils down to what you want. I personally dont see why i would need more than 60 fps ^^
Id have to agree even tho I splurged on my GPU, the human eye per the experts can’t perceive everything beyond 60fps lol, figured I’d just throw that fun fact in for people thinking 60fps is slow or something
