Playing the Sorcerer class. There is not enough skill slots to use all the spells we want. There is no dedicated button to use your ultimate. I thought it would “open” up once I had the option to choose it. Why is there no ultimate button? Why do we have to choose to replace one of our six skill slots for our ultimate? The ultimate takes forever to charge back up, too. So we’re sacrificing a skill slot that we would use often for something that can be used every 60 seconds? This is not a fun setup. It feels “wrong.” I suppose we are supposed to take more passive skills then? Then that also forces us to play a certain way Blizzard wants us to. I say, just give us the ultimate button. It was something so intuitive that it just made sense to expect it. Not having it is a disappointment.
I agree wholeheartedly. Barbarian just does not work well without shouts and that just sucks. I’d love to have leap., ground stop, charge, and deathblow on my bar, but there isnt enough room and even if there was the scaling would make them very, very inefficient.
for rogue I’d also like to have a ranged spender as well, but the design of the class doesn’t really allow for a mixed build either.
Sorc with another skill slot for ultimate would be way to powerful… iceshard mage with deepfreeze ultimate and the nerf would come in hours
Let’s not discount the idea of an extra skill slot because of some hypothetical scenario.
Every class could either benefit from an extra skillslot, or a dedicated ultimate slot (the former offers more flexibility however). Balancing should not be prioritised over core gameplay that can affect everyone positively in the larger scope of things.
So you want D4 like those MMO with >10 skills slots?
“So what you’re saying is…”
No. The OP never said that they want >10 skills slots. You’re hyperboling it, and you know you are.
6 is more than enough and has been for the last 10 years of diablo
sweet summer child you’re still uner the impression this is an ARPG. poor thing
Well, that is what they are advertising isn’t it?
Haha Made my Day Arigato ^^
I concur, but this is a highly debatable point. Devs will argue that this is how Diablo games have been. We’ll come back with how DIV was supposed to be very innovative, they’ll retort with “Not in every aspect, no. We still want it to feel Diabloey”.
The thing is, it’s a subjective matter and at the end, they’re the ones calling the shots. For better or worse. Sadly.
People don’t seem to realise that the 6 skills thing is a balance decision, a game mechanic. Like how you only have X amount of skill points. It’s not there because of some controller limitation of something. There’s plenty of ways to work around it and they chose not to, making forum threads isn’t going to get them to change their mind. The whole game would need to be rebalanced if there were more than 6 skill available at any one time.
you do realize that with the way the scaling and specs work, more likely than not classes like barbarian are better off investing in a few skills to begin with… Most of the barb builds all work off shouts, a berserk shout ultimate, a basic skill and then a core skill right? That is 4 shouts and 2 usable skills. That is not fun.
Heavily investing in one skill leads to exponential rewards due to the multiplicative nature of the scaling. An additional skill for utility is not going to break the game when 99% of your damage is all about empowering your right click.
Rogue also feels limited when i want to run a hybrid build and its just not really possible.
They want you to think carefully about a build and sacrifice things you want but can’t have.
If PC users got >6 slots, how would they map it on controllers for consoles so it would put those players on equal footing? I’m playing this on PC and moving and attacking simply feels better with a controller.
Blizzard did this intentionally. It’s designed to make you be more selective with how you build your character. Personally I’m a fan.
6 are fine for me as a sorc, but i guess i wouldnt mind 1 more, or just dedicated ulti. But im fine with w/e.
RB+LB / R1+L1 combination for ultimates would suffice.
I hear this a lot, a it’s always resulted in a backpedal or pivot on their “intentions”.
I agree. The Ult skill should be its own slot and not take up a skill slot.
