D3 sucked, and Diablo Immortal is trash.
D2 had the ability to hotkey 12 skills. so that’s double D4.
And they had more pots and had MANA!!! the need to get rid of the builder spender for every class. its complete garbage.

Lots of unmapped buttons for controllers. Lots.
I play sorc too and personally I think they could use 1 more skill slot and have their mana cost removed from a few abilities because oftentimes it’s just not worth it at all. May as well play with 3 slots the way things are now. 1 fluff slot 1 defensive slot 1 dmg slot
ive played all the classes now, the combat is very boring and its because of what op is talking about. 6 abilities is simply not enough, it is killing this game. Even 1-2 more buttons would make a big improvement, but spamming 1-2 damage abilities and having 4 other cds that are just buffs is so crazy to me. I understand why the game was designed like this years ago due to limitations, but thats not the case anymore.
D2 had 16. D2R is online right now, go play that. LOL
I think this is a separate issue.
He should never have had 3 separate shouts to begin with.
The other 2 should have just been natural passives
With Rallying Cry being the only shout
They could instead replace it with other abilities like
Blood Rage -
He is immobilized for 3s but if he takes lethal damage during that time.
He regains 25% hp and gets 100% damage buff for 3s with a 15s cd.
If he does not take Lethal damage his HP is dropped to 1%.
Basically high Risk, High Reward.
On some classes the ultimate skills are so useless builds don’t even bother with them. My Tornado Druid, for example, there isn’t a skill worth the cool down. And with 50-80 second cooldowns that’s not a surprise. Ultimates would have to do a buttload of work or they’re a waste of a skill slot. Sure, you can argue that “having a limited of number of skills forces players to make choices” but when that choice is “4 combat skills or 3 (and one I can use every 2nd or 3rd fight) combat skills” it’s really not much of a choice now is it? The solution could be as simple as letting players cast their ultimate from the Emote wheel. It’s a low frequency use thing and wouldn’t “break controllers” by requiring a new button mapping.
wouldnt “break controllers” anyways since D2R has 12 slots on a controller, its a design change, hard and fast, it wont change either, get over it
6 is more then enough this is not wow stop turning it into it
I ´d love just an extra slot for Ultimate.
Its planned for either next expansion or the ingame shop. Same for bank slots and other qol improvements.
there should at least be a separate slot for the ultimate, so regardless of build i can always have my ultimate.
And having the minions of necros use up one slot is not optimal either.
It’s enough. Refine your build. There is nothing in the game that you need more than 6 skills for.
That’s the trade and it’s deliberate. If you have a skill that can out-do that within the span of 60 seconds, get that instead.
The Ultimate, while called an ultimate is, ultimately, a skill. Heck, take two ultimates if it’ll work.
You can only have one ultimate… lol.
Oh really? I’ve never actually tried that, but it really shouldn’t limit you. Either way, there’s no obligation to take an ultimate at all.
It’s a Diablo game. The fact that some people feel D3 set the standard for the franchise disgusts me when it was a Diablo game in name only. Diablo II had 12+ hotkeys you could use.
Stop being greedy with skills.
Console pleebs rake in the big bucks.
Think of the poor Necromancer who may need to dedicate 2 buttons to summoning skeletons and golems. AND what the hell is the point of combat focused potions (other than health) when one could have 2-3 spots to call them quickly?
