2 month season?

Maybe it’s been like this for a while (IDK), but I just noticed the season will only last 62 days (based on the Battlepass).

To be honest, I’ve long believed that 2 months is better than 3 months in terms of regularity of new content.

As a kid, playing an mmo called runescape, I was used to something new every month, but starting a new character every month seemed excessive to me.

It certainly negatively impacts casual players (I’m a casual too), but I think it’s a change where the positives outweigh the negatives.

I wouldn’t count on this being the new normal. Seasons have typically been 2-3 months. I’m assuming it happens because they mess up their schedule with issues or they shift priorities and a season length shifts to accommodate. Next season will probably be 3 months.

S7 ran long.
They’re cutting S8 short.

Good news. I’m hopeful for s9 and should be done with Last Epoch in 2 months.

Barely anyone is playing it and its launch day, so…

The changes they made wre the worst changes they could have made. Blizzard still doesnt understand their own playerbase

Hope in S9 they go back on their tracks and revert into developing for the players instead of trying to please Streamers and POE players

damn, someone got insight on blizzards internal informations again lol.

TBH I’d prefer it if it was 4, but with a proper content and proper/slowed-down pace of power struggle and gain

Thank god from the sound of it. :joy:

Steam has half the numbers S7 had on launch. They couldnt even reach 20k players

Well… it’s Tuesday… other ARPGS are in very good position… and tomorrow there’s an interesting “release”. I would say it is normal.

I already loved the changes, it’s a more mature game now. I just didn’t like the raids.

Check again in a few hours. Most of the US is at work.

Also, let me know when you have the battle.net + console numbers.

Seasons always launch on tuesdays, so it doesnt affect the comparison

And S7 launched when POE2 Patch 1 was still strong. Now POE2 is on a bad situation and LE is way less important

So yeah, you can pick all the excuses you want, its a TERRIBLE launch for a D4 Season

I dont need the bnet and console numbers when i am comparing numbers from a Season launch on STEAM to another season launch on STEAM

we know that you dont need factual data lol.

It must be so hard when you’re so upset that people are enjoying a game and you can’t change their mind no matter how hard you try because they don’t care about your little numbers. Chin up, buddy.

Maybe, but I didn’t see in your message that you compared it to the previous season so it doesn’t affect the idea that it’s Tuesday.

(In other words, we are talking about different things)

I am using factual data. The ones that decide to IGNORE factual data are the ones trying to hide the truth

COmparin steam numbers of one Season to Steam numbers from another Season is a perfectly valid comparison

I am comparing trends, i never said it was the 100% of the total players. You never need the total population to draw a statistic

Right? its pretty funny how bitter some people are. In that other thread that dude went totally angry when i said i enjoy the season so far, and hope it stays like this for a few days. lmao

I mean, i can imagine you are a bitter arpg player if you dont like D4, and are just too bad for poe2. thats a tough spot.

ok bro - whatever you say. Deep analysis going on there :joy:

The truth is: it’s completely normal for a game to lose players over time.

Only very few exceptions are the other way around, but exceptions aren’t normal by definition.

Does the game have fewer players than before? Yes, I believe you. It’s normal.

Those “fewer players” are “few players”? That’s a completely different discussion that requires data we don’t have.
