Diablo is a game you play, not a game you watch.

It says that its totally weird for most of the people that someone is watching someone grinding. Watching an interesting story game ok… but this is kinda special but to each their own.

But it says nothing about season1. Thats a weird question. But whats weird? Whats normal? And why im i bound on a table while aliens watching me?

Why do people care about likes, views, etc? If something is fun to you, that should be enough validation for you to be able to enjoy it

There isn’t necessarily a correlation between popularity in a game and number of streams, as not every game is highly watchable.

Personally, I wouldn’t want to watch anyone play any ARPG. It is boring to watch compared to something like StarCraft. In fact, I don’t play StarCraft anymore but I watch it! I have zero desire to play StarCraft, but I enjoy watching it a few times a week.

Either way, who cares? If you enjoy something, just enjoy it.

That this is a bad time for twitch viewing of ARPGs? None of the others have significantly more viewers and PoE is 85% watching Quin

No ARPGs do well on Twitch outside of season launches and new, hyped games. They aren’t that entertaining to watch.

Not sure what the ratio is of US viewers vs the rest of the world, but here in the US it’s 8 am. Not watching much of anything at 8 am.

I just find it interesting how the white knights screamed and touted about high twitch viewership when season one dropped, as if it was a reason this game is good.

Now there are a ton of reasons why ‘ARPG’s dont get watched on twitch’

How the turn tables

I used to spin records on turn tables.

Let’s say the season was the best thing since sliced bread for arguments sake, I still expect a game like this to have peaks and valleys. I quite enjoy the game, but still don’t see myself playing with any regularity.

Because vast majority are playing not watching… imagine going by twitch viewers and think thats the main source for whether the game is dead or not.

It’s almost like the start of a new season with new elements gets more eyes and interest than mid-season. Shocking I tell you.

It’s not 2015 anymore. Twitch is hardly about esports. I don’t know if I’d use it as a accurate gauge of what is popular but it was #1 for a time with absolutely no esports involved.

Then people realized it is a soulless husk of a gameplay loop, a current gen Blizzard game. Some of the design decisions of Diablo 4 are outright baffling. Plus I am still waiting for that update where the cash shop is updated to be more predatory. You think they aren’t going to inject more of Immortal into this husk to milk the players that will play and pay because it’s Diablo? LOL

Gotta get that sunk cost hook in deep first.

How many does PoE have and has had for a long while now (even before D4)?

Yeah, thats what we tried to tell you guys. that people just watched to see the changes. white knights used it as a reason to tell the naysayers ‘see! the game is good

So I take it you don’t play the game

It has pretty dramatic peaks and valleys. I am guessing the peaks are league launches and Exilecon which just happened.

The numbers no matter what they are high or low reflect neither the game being good or bad. Twitch and watching people play video games is niche for a very small portion of people relative to the larger player base. Many people watch streamers just for the streamer themselves, regardless of what game they may be playing.
