D3 with all it’s problems has had 28 seasons for players to enjoy. People still play it to this day.
There’s plenty of skills/spells that are overwhelmingly useful before legendary modifications… or aspects. You either make good builds or you fail at the game…
The game was designed to be darker… D3 was supposed to be a darker gothic world, but that changed during development. D2R is not a prettier game… The whole point of D4 is to have a darker world to have a resemblance of a torn world… not flowers and candymen dancing around with rainbows.
Eh… D3 was garbage for the most part and had countless issues for the longest time. Doesn’t matter what fans of D3 said about D2… D2 had it’s innovations from D1. D3 lost most of the luster of what D2 stood for. The only “clunkiness” I’ve experienced is watching the desync/lag from the gameplay servers.
Swapping items out has been a thing since the FIRST diablo… You’re leveling… you’re gaining new items that out power older gear… it’s to be expected. Micromanaging gear has been a diablo staple forever.
This is an older build, in no way was this game developed in two months… Yea… there were closed tests… imagine that.
Absolutely love how d4 feels. Went back to play d2r between betas and couldn’t get back into it, felt bad in comparison. D2 also is has way less color in comparison, not sure what is wrong there, maybe settings?
It feels to me like they almost took the criticisms of Diablo 3’s color palette and visuals personally and resolved to make Diablo 4 look as boring as possible.
D2 should feel bad in comparison, given it came out decades ago. Honestly, the fact that they’re even comparable at this state is a disgrace. A 2023 new release should be held to higher standards.
this game is a joke, you can’t call it diablo. my experience is like they took everything that went wrong in D3 and put it in lost ark in a dirty and poorly optimized way. I don’t know if P2W will come but the game has everything there to implement it. and to think that this game is more expensive than Elder ring is laughable. I have no doubt the bli$$Boys bought it in droves but at this level this game will die in a few months. a $70 game. not even classes like demon-hunter paladin among the options, classes that CLEARLY will come as DLC. with a simplistic and generic system typical of Korean mobile games, it’s a shame to see something like this, and sadder is to see people dare to compare it with what D2 was. EVERYTHING that exists today in the game was created in D2 and Warcraft 3. This game doesn’t innovate in ANYTHING it’s just the generic of the generic
It’s not a contradiction, no. It’s just straight up bulls$*t and lies.
You have an opinion, but you can’t feel good about yourself and your opinion unless you pretend like the majority of people agree with you. But they don’t.
They not here to learn so they can give you what you want for just $60.
They are here to make you fight in a vbideogame how they want, they gonna use cooldowns to make you and best part of it is that you gonna pay for it too…
Then they will watch you secretely.
I liked the gameplay but not the MMO part since it is a totally different Diablo from the single player version I used to play and I don’t know if I will stick around for the Blizzard screw up since I am deeply disappointed with this one.
its pretty obvious from all there games recently they have learned nothing but people still throw cash at there games so why bother? this game will launch with big numbers, players will throw 100s if not 1000s at skins and battle passes and it will be a huge success in there minds.
That’s such an infantile thing to say…
I hardly care as to whether someone agrees with me or not, let alone “the majority”.
I wrote what I did in order to let fellow posters know what they are likely going to get on release, so they can make up their minds.
I’d phrase it differently.
Why would the devs bother to learn anything from D3’s shortcomings, when the gamers have either forgotten them due to hype, or they never played the previous games.
Blizzard seems to have this core philosphy of “you think you do but you don’t” so they treat ALL feedback like its nonsense coming from a priviliged brat with no clue of balance and game mecanics.
They ask for feedback but they absolutely refuse to take anything in and they think they’re much more knowledgable than we are so they go their own way and release after release is a disaster.
How HARD can it be to survey this massive player base and ask which features are the most liked and build on that rather than stealing the WORST ideas from other games. Gosh almighty what a HARD PASS this game is for me
In my opinion you nailed it. I remember when i was sitting in a restaurant with an internetconnection in holiday waiting for updates on d3. Man, i was so hyped to slay demons again because i was a huge fan of the franchise from childhood onwards. On d3 they pushed the franchise into a totally different direction. Surely i did waste like 500-1000hours also on this game, but retroperspective from the last seasons on d3 and d2r which i played both, i can say, that i had so much more and longer fun on d2r as i had in d3. The d3 season takes 2 days for me to be bored. On d2r i can waste hours and hours doing the same sht.
But lets get back to the topic. I gave Blizzard a chance on d4. I read every update on the game, watched every contentupdate. But i lost my hopes on the stream where they talked 30 minutes about a candle from a collectors box. These devs are no gamers. They are workaholics who want to sell for the company to grow bigger and bigger so the shareholders investing in the company. The only way we could stop this would be to deny their game until they tell us they gonna change stuff in the game(it would be incredible if that would work as it did with the AMC/NVIDIA hype). This would be the only sign we could set as a community
It gets a lot of surface level stuff right, and that’s why so many are impressed with it in short doses.
But yeah it has serious issues with tone, narrative, mechanical depth etc. It feels like D3 with a fresh coat of paint on in too many areas.
I don’t hate it though. It’s not a bad game, it’s just not the one loads hoped for. It feels like a 7/10 to me - fine, but it’s not going to grip me like D2 did.
But millions of others will love it for how basic it is, and it’s nowhere near as bad or cynical as Immortal.
I have the genuine opposite opinion. Everywhere I look in this beta I’m seeing lessons learned from D3 as well as adapted ideas from the ARPGs that have come since.
Your individual complaints are so vague I can’t even get a read on what’s actually bugging you about the game.
