You will not get loot free, deal with it

this is false in a group of 8 people if you are evenly geared you can kill ~8 times faster so even though you aren’t getting 8x the loot per mob you get more kills per hour and a sizeable increase in loot drops, if solo was the most efficient you wouldn’t see people in single player using /players 4-8 depending on what they are farming they would just stick to 1.

We might even discover new builds for team farming.

But why? Why should it be like that? Because it’s always been? Even Brevik said he would implement private loot. It won’t result in more items and Blizzard should make loot allocation methods optional. I don’t get why some of you argue against something that you won’t have to use. Let people enjoy the game more.

Rofl, in sp it is most efficient doing it in p8 as far as you can kill fast enough, omg.

You dont do a baalrun 8 times faster in a full party, the most of the time you spend ina baal run is teleporting to throne and waiting between waves, what are you talking about?, do you even play d2?. You can solo baal in less than 1.5 times the time you need to do it in a full party.

The people arguing against FFA loot are the people who don’t have the years of experience playing this game so they wouldn’t know that.

People mooch now in FFA. Just leave the party and rejoin with the people who are not mooches. Then you could just PK them if you want.

Suppose it’s hardcore? Would that still mean lack of skill? You have to have decent gear in order to benefit a party. This is huge on hardcore, otherwise, it could mean you’re death or one of the players death.
Is P Loot the remedy for this? if it was tied to it’s own game mode/type sure. In that case, even suppose you are playing ladder, or hardcore Personal loot, as long as it’s separate from main Hardcore, ladder, and hardcore ladder.
For me, on Hardcore, I always play solo, to find those good drops. I go everywhere I can go and normally, I find some great pieces of gear. So, solo does provide some freedom in avoiding party play.

I only played HC my last few years of playing and I’ll be only in HC this game too.

I don’t play public in HC unless I’m looking for a kill. There were too many hacker PKers last time and I’m sure it will be no different this time.

HC should be played solo or with friends. Unless you like being killed by a cheat.

ffa loot doesn’t prevent mooches it encourages them why do you think when a unique/boss/champ gets low on health the who screen gets much clearer and the dps drops way off, everyone is stopping getting ready to ninja the loot while the 1 nice person willing to kill the mob still is at a disadvantage.

Chill. Yeah, you could also MK them.

Same. I am only going to be playing hardcore myself.
I use to only play public games to run the last quests for the higher acts. Like Tal Rasha’s tomb for example. Sometimes, I would help out a group to help them finish the last quest in a act. Though My last hardcore character Bowzon I soloed up until Act V. Ran into a friendly, Assassin that would drop gear similar to my class. Was different.
Well, I just play Hardcore for the sport of it, that and to me, it’s the best way to experience Diablo II.

Lolllll ranged classes can kill Mephisto for free. Tell me something about ranged classes having any net disadvantage against melees in D2.

That’s the point. Play in whatever way makes you happy. Most HC players are not cheaters. But the few that are can ruin it for the rest.

I was PKed several times when I first started HC. Usually by something as simple as someone casting traps, hydra, etc… then TP to town and go hostile. Technically, those are legit kills.

It’s the cheaters that irritate me. Like using a maphack to scroll from 5+ screens away and fire a guided arrow then TP to town and go hostile before it reaches you. Boom, you just got one-shotted. That’s just one example and it’s an easy PK to spot since they are going to be a lot higher level to one-shot you.

they are farther away from mobs when they die on average, and yes this includes mephisto

In parties for loot drops, dude…

Dude, they can solo Mephisto for free! That’s infinite loot. No melee will farm Mephisto as easy as that, Right after finishing act3.

Yup, but we’re talking about party adventures, not solo ones.

yes but this discussion is about multiplayer games personal loot vs ffa has no effect on solo.

Free loot has always been part of d2. Just make a game called “Drop your junk”, pick up stuff people drop, take it to jsp, profit.

No in ingame is complaining about global loot, only some whiners who sit on forum all day long and scream "I want Personal Loot"
