Might as well go back and kill Lilith when she was a baby so that she never met Inarius a d had nephalem babies in a secret world so that we never knew this strife.
Honestly, if time travel was a thing in Diablo and/or someone had the ability to do so and wanted to make a noticable difference; then the best points in time to travel to (imo at least) would be either:
- When Tyrael first formed the Horadrim and warn him about Izual’s betrayal as well as the Prime Evil’s intent on using the soulstones to their own means.
- When the Horadrim battled Baal and the soulstone used to seal him was damaged.
- When Mephisto’s soulstone was placed in Kurast.
- Marius…
But I’d would be fine if such a thing wasn’t possible in Diablo (or if it was possible, it would be a long and arduous ritual that came with so many great risks, that it may not be worth it).

if you get back in time u can efect the time line and undo yor self so how u got back in time if u never were born before? but if u travel in difrent dimention/multiverse/reality where time line cant efect yor past in yor real time line in any way mabe it can work but in this case who said wht tragul from difrent reality wont do same to yor reality same crap in circles endless paradox not only that after tragul from unbalanced time sends u back to yet balanced time to fix somthing wht can change balance of that moment wht gona do tragul of that moment just sit and wach how u ruin his balance in that moment or tragul alrdy knew wht he from future gona send sum 1 to ruin balance in past while it was balanced so in that case he knew alrdy and did nothing thats more paradox on top of others paradoxes

Would I be mad? No, not at all. They can easily cover the Deckard Cain’s death as Belial being disguised as him. They can and would cover Diablo having to lose against Nephalem as Belial tricking Adria when she roamed the Sanctuary to mark their demon vessels. It’s easy for them to pull such stunts with some rhetoric.

retcon = lazy… i suppose you could say a retcon is acceptable, if a retcon is going to redeem a world and make it better; we saw this with dragon ball super invalidating dragon ball gt, or if the matrix 5 movie ignores the matrix 4.
diablo 3 is really solid, there isn’t any reason to retcon it. sure Cain died in a lame way, and Adria tricked everyone but that’s just the way it goes sometimes.

I know that you don’t like how things changed in the story of D3. But that happens in games like D3. Trying to get the devs to erase it for D4 like it never happened isn’t gonna be a good idea nor will it work. Because Blizz won’t do it. They have their own story to tell about D4 and where it is in the stream of time in the world of Diablo.

The events of D3 are canon. Deal with it.
While we don’t know what will happen in D4 yet, we know where things will pick up as this is something Blizzard has officially stated. It has been confirmed that what Malthael did eradicated 90% of humanity on Sanctuary and many years later (I think it was decades even) humanity was still recovering.
