Oppo Reno2 Z owner here… it’s a mid ranged phone and not that old, being released just over a year ago. As someone who’s migrated to mobile gaming to some degree, I was going to give DI a fair chance especially since playing interchangeably between my phone and android emulator on PC is something that works well for me.
I’m getting the “This phone model is not supported” message. Guess I’m gonna stick to Guns of Glory and MK Mobile for my mobile gaming.
You also need to have received an invite by email apparently. If you signed up with your Bnet account, you’ll receive one in the email associated with it. If you signed up via Google Play, then via your Google account.
And only a couple thousand people got in. But it doesn’t matter, it’s basically a mobile PTR, only lasts a couple weeks. I thought it was a long-term open alpha.
My phone isn’t supported either and is of a similar vintage to yours. I heard murmurs that the game may well support a wider range of phones by release time so I’d wait until release before giving up on it just yet.
Of course, by the time the game’s released it’ll be time to upgrade our phones anyway!!

Hi everyone -
As you may have noticed, we have adjusted the minimum requirements for Diablo Immortal since we announced back in 2018. Our intention with these adjustments is to ensure that users who partake in future testing phases have the best possible experience while playing the game. We have honed in on a set of hardware specifications that we hope to receive some thorough testing in upcoming development phases and that is reflected in the latest requirements. While I can’t promise anything, I will say that the team is looking at expanding minimum requirements in the future and is always looking at ways to help bring Diablo Immortal to more devices as we get closer to launch.
Ah, OK. Yeah, I signed up with both… no emails in either account… I just got a notification in Android store stating it’s available for installation now. I figured it activated for me as I had registered and was accepted.
LOL.
Normally I use a phone for at least 3yrs but I think your comment still stands for me.
Yeah same here, except I just saw it was available for installation. No notification of any kind. I’m not about to waste a stupid amount of cash on a stupid “gaming phone”. That’s why we have emulators.
My old as sh… samsung is noway near compatible for this game… But I never intend to play games on a small sh…ty screen anyway. Why would you when you have huge screens and aparatus specially made for games…
I never intended to watch movies on my phone either when I’ve got a big screen TV. But then lugging a 40" TV on the bus and finding a power socket for it isn’t particularly convenient. When I have a 1hr bus ride each way and not much time at home to watch movies, being able to do it on the bus means I get to see something I’d otherwise not find time to watch. Likewise, if I’m not feeling like a movie, being able to game is nice too.
Personally, I would have liked to have seen Blizzard port Heroes of the Storm to mobile. I reckon that game would work well on touch screen and the F2P nature of the game would suit the mobile market. It would also mean cross platform play between mobile and PC players and would also mean you could game on your PC and continue on with matches under the same account on mobile when you need to run for the bus/train.
Similarly, I always thought Rocket League needed a mobile port with access to the same account as PC and console so you can continue progress when on the go.
But neither of those games are on mobile and if Diablo Immortal is F2P… yeah, I wouldn’t mind giving it a try. I already play two mobile games so a third might be pushing it but I’d at least like to give it a try especially when I’ve been playing D3 for over 8yrs since the open beta.
It should be our normal Bnet account, if it works like Hearthstone does on Mobile. Which also allows them to link forum access to a certain play level, in game, like they do Hearthstone, so it helps limit spam on forums. I think that question came up the other day too.
Surprisingly, it looks like my “old” phone (2016… how stupid it is that 2016 is old in this context) might be supported.
Though I cant imagine trying this on anything else than a tablet. I think my tablet is from 2013, but nobody seems to be talking about which of those are supported.
If they choose to block emulators, there’s nothing you could do. As of right now you can’t play DI via emulator.
If that changes in the future, Bluestacks is usually the one to go to. Just install it, then pick a predetermined phone model profile from the settings (or make a custom profile with the manufacturer/model of your choice), log into your Google account, go to Google Play & search + install DI.
Free to play I assume doesn’t need a Bnet account. If it does, it’ll probably ask you to log into it. And then play with K+M.
Don’t count on cross platform bonuses. That would be unexpected in this case. Phone to PC cross is not something I expec. Maybe I will be surprised though.
I got both… my phone shows the first one in the Play Store… and then the second one as the game tries to load on the screen after the Blizzard/NetEase logos.
I know it’s not deliberate but it does feel like I’m being trolled extensively by DI.
initially I was hoping for more D3 content announcements (Druid with 2x stash tabs and character slots) at the Blizzcon that announced DI.
I owned a windows phone then so DI meant nothing to me
I finally get an Android phone when WP support ceased. The alpha installs for me, it can be started up, but it won’t fully load as my phone actually isn’t supported yet despite being less than 18 months old and mid range.
It’s probably the most popular Android emulator and the one I’d start with but depending on the game/app and your PC hardware, one of the other android emulators might run the app better. My bro uses Nox as he gets better results.
Typically, I do two searches when looking for an android emulator:
a search for the current top 10 android emulators. There’s always a list that was compiled in the past year of top X android emulators like this one: https://www.androidauthority.com/best-android-emulators-for-pc-655308/
an emulator that runs that app decently… usually requires searching through forum results a bit and reading user comments.
But for DI, I’m tempted to give Gameloop a try, simply because is use to be known as Tencent Gaming Buddy
I suggest playing around with an android emulator in advance just so you get use to how something originally designed with swipe controls in mind translates to mouse and KB or controller as well as just setting the thing up properly.
For example, when I set up BlueStacks, most of it was pretty straight forward but I had to turn on some dohickey in the mobo’s BIOS in order for the emulator to run MK Mobile.
I’m also going to install a Netease ARPG like Crusaders of Light and tinker around with mapping my wired 360 controller with the emulator. I just can’t see a virtual D pad working well with mouse and keyboard so I may as well get the controller set up now in preparation for DI.
If you do any mobile gaming at the moment and want to set up running multiple games with your android emulator, you should have a tinker around with multi-instances. This will let you have two windows of that emulator running. By default, Android will ‘pause’ the app that isn’t currently showing on the screen so if you’re jumping between apps and wanting all of them to be undertaking tasks simultaneously, you’ll want to be using multi instances.
