Sorry (partially) to necro and older thread, but this keeps happening on Switch. The fix for me was to knock the difficulty of my game down to Normal (I do adventure mode during seasons and usually start on Master), and that allowed me to take it. Then I logged out and set it back to Master to play. Hope this helps another Switch player.
