To the real Meteorblade

Because if you are part of a community, such as a forum and actually care about the health of that community, it’s a big red flag when trolls like that run rampant.

I’m more connected to the Diablo community than I am to the games themselves (because I don’t even enjoy playing ARPGs that much anymore but I made a lot of friends through them and still care about the franchise itself), so I do care when stuff like this happens in the game’s official forum.

I’d like to take credit for
A) On the first thread, first bringing up the Wayback Machine to confirm who our little friend is.
B) Smoking them out on this thread.

You’re all welcome. =)

I hope our little friend can get the help they need. Kudos to Meteorblade for handling the situation pretty well, too. After reading some of the history between these two, this has been on a slow burn for a while and I’m not surprised to see this sort of desperate trolling action to get his attention.

Excelsior?

The Real Zurtle

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thought: The original MeteorBlade shows his name as “MeteorBlade”. The other guy shows “MeteorBlade-tag#”.

Upon name creation/change, if you choose a name that someone already has, you are notified that this will happen when posting in the forums.

Also check for the number of posts. OG has nearly 10K while unstable copycat has less than 200.

Give them time, they’ll get to 10K posts! #Fake Meteorblade

Well i guess we can act like he dosen’t even exists. Ignoreing him completely. After all this a despret atempt for attention. Let’s not give it to him.

Exactly, we will see if the mods do something about it or will they ignore it because Blizzard is a mess right now.

Haven’t been playing or posting, but this is something sad to come across.

Because he’s the furthest thing from “MVP”.

Indian was talking about the original one, not the fake. But I can’t see that happening, they aren’t adding anymore MVPs right now. At one time many years back it was suggested that I might become one, but I know how I am on the forum, I couldn’t see it happening. LOL

But that was back on the old forum and like 5 years ago. :stuck_out_tongue:

I do have forum management experience, I used to run my own for my UT clan, and managed a popular Harry Potter forum called Dissendium back in the mid-2000s… That forum had over 60k members during its height when we were hosting the WB official TWT. Fun times. And hectic. Was the busiest never-get-paid job I ever had. LOL

Game on.

So was I. He’s hardly MVP material. Flapping your gums on a gaming forum 24/7/365 doesn’t make you MVP.

And let’s not forget HE has done his fair share of harassing/bullying over the years. That’s why he permanently lost his TL3 status everywhere - and he’s really happy about it too

As far as I’m concerned, people reap what they sow.

Of course not. I tend to be direct, which sometimes means I can be a bit abrasive. But most of the time I’m pretty easy to get along with on here.

But knowing what MissCheetah puts up with I told her a long time ago that I was not MVP material, even though at one time she thought I could be. lol

Sure, and it is also a forum violation of COC to name call and intimidate others too. Which several in this thread are doing. I look forward to seeing the mods do their job and do it properly.

Know this brother:
when someone copies or imitates you, please know this is a sincere form of flattery. (though the copier is blind to their inner intentions.)

Take what has happened to you as a compliment.

You have a wonderful presence on this forum and many respect you very much.

We all love and care about you Meteorblade! (The real original Meteorblade!)

I think that fake-MeteorBlade could be added to ignore.

I wholeheartedly agree which is why, on the two occasions I was offered one, I didn’t even respond to the emails. I know full well that there’s no way I should be green.

No, that’s not why. Oh, and I’m still TL3 on the EU forums, by the way.

I had TL3 very early. I appear to have lost it then regained it in July.
I think it has to do with likes given and received.

One of the requirements to maintain TL3 is to give a certain number of likes in a rolling 90-day period. There is no such rolling requirement for the number of likes received. So, yes, if you don’t like enough people’s posts you will lose your TL3. If you wanted to, you could recover this by just giving likes to random posts. Not sure how liking random posts indicates that anyone is more trustworthy but that’s another discussion entirely.
