I believe there’s also a number of read posts over a 90 day rolling average. I lost mine when I lost interest in D3 and hadn’t been on the forums much. Realized it when I started getting excited about D2R and couldn’t do TL3 things anymore. Agreed that both of those aren’t too hard to gain back, and scrolling through arbitrary posts also isn’t a good indication of trustworthiness.
Yep. It involves days visited, posts read, and some likes. The threshold changes depending on forum activity. Getting TL3 on the OW or WoW forums takes a lot more activity than D3 - because D3 is pretty low participation. Can’t read X number of posts if we don’t have that many posts!
Another factor in getting TL3 is not getting suspended - which is actually a reasonable measure of trusthworthyness. So if someone is here a lot, participates, and manages to not get in trouble, they get TL3 and can post clickable links.
Whilst we’ve had our differences in the past MB, I would beg to differ. I will also say that you’ve participated in console discussions over the years, even though you play on PC.
We could use a blue like you imho, let alone a green.
The real MB is one cool cat the fake MB was just a rat.
Umm… no. He has some opinions that are best expressed as a regular person speaking in their own right. While greens can say mostly what they want, there are limits (breaking forum rules against racism, sexism, hate speech, etc). Also being overly dramatic to intentionally cause issues - not saying he did that. Past MVPs have.
If Meteor really wanted to be a Dev, he would apply. Blizz will relocate people from Great Brittan and have in the past.
He has turned it down when offered by the EU CMs. For good reason. It is not something most people want to do. Being Blue is even worse.
Correct look how some of the people treated Brandy. They attacked her personally.
I didn’t say dev, I said blue (inferring CM).
I know. You and I got it on the very first day that you could get TL3 due to meeting the forum requirements. I think there are only 3 non-manually awarded accounts that have maintained TL3 continuously for the past 22 months. There are only 4 accounts that have maintained TL3 constantly where it was initially awarded back in 2019.
I do wish that Blizzard would just manually award TL3 for anyone who has been it continuously for two years.
well, we didn’t see the tail end of her in the console sections. FR has been in there like twice…so excuse us if console players get ticked off cos we get no love. We paid for the game too, but it seems no one at Blizzard hears our issues. So, we have every right to be aggrieved and criticise Blizzard reps.
I don’t want it, and I really really think he would not either. Being blue is like having handcuffs on your fingers. You can’t say anything without it fitting the company PR and legal rules umbrella, as well as being approved by a ton of others. The only things CMs can talk freely about are personal things like fav class, next seasonal char, snacks for game release, etc.
This is actually an issue Blizz needs to fix. If they want the Console market they need to TALK to the console folks. They don’t. They don’t even have someone like me to sort of help as a player. Same is going to be true for Mobile.
How are they going to reach those players? How will they engage? I realize forums have a TINY footprint these days. If not here there needs to be somewhere. Console should not be left out. Nor the Mobile DI gamers (whatever you think of that I have realized the game is actually rather good - not that I can play it).
Communications and Blizz have been poor forever. I can tell you now that is the biggest feedback from MVPs across the past 10 years or so.
My prediction - at some point there won’t be forums. The engagement with them is really low so companies don’t spend resources on them.
If I could, I’d give my TL3 away to someone who really need/use it (like those who make handles guides and such).
The forums appear to be more for the players, and less about interaction between players and developers.
Those were handled manually. If there is a new person who needs to be added please add me on Bnet and message me.
Correct. Blizzard feels the forums are a place for players to discuss the games with other players.
There are limited Blue contacts:
- TS/CS has Forum Support agents who work in shifts. While most support is player to player, they do moderate when they are around and answer things. A post is not a ticket though and no response is guaranteed.
- Community Mangers collect feedback mostly. They rarely intervene as it causes threads to derail with tons of messages to the Blue. I personally think if they were here more that would not happen, but that is not policy.
- Devs very rarely post anymore and it is Franchise dependant.
- Moderators are a separate group who do only forum tickets for all Blizz games. Not one forum. They sometimes leave a note but almost never post themselves.
In a way, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, as having players interact with players helps build a thriving community (sure you have some bad apples, but they’ll be there regardless). However, the lack of Developer communication can and has been a problem for the game, as it leads to some becoming antsy and/or anxious (which we’ve seen plenty of times, especially around blizzcons prior to Diablo 4 announcment). Even more so, when the developers ask for feedback, yet don’t give any information and/or don’t make adjustments regarding said feedback, which leads to players feeling ignored.
we’ve (console players) have been saying this for years. So many issues with our console ports and we just get ignored.
Agreed.
I’m guessing Facebook group, driven by Blizzard.
I cancelled my D2R pre-order with Sony yesterday over the lack of lobbies and voice chat on D2R console ports. It’s clearly unacceptable. The Sony person told me that they are getting a tonne of refund requests for this title. Blizzard should have delayed the console port releases and fixed the problems, instead, they’re just ignoring it and going ahead with it all. Well, good luck Blizzard, massive sales drop.
s24 on console (PS4) is now pooched - modders are having fun with modded gear and ruining the LBs. We’ve been saying that we need online saves for years and Blizzard just ignores us. Every future season from now on will be filled with modders and/or modders selling modded seasonal characters for a profit. We’ll be like the switch.
What has been going on here while I am having “fun” on the D2R forum
The usual suspect finally went completely mad?
Long story short, someone wanted to also be MeteorBlade, to the point that they changed their account name and picture to match his. Didn’t seem to last long. Honestly though, as lively as the event was, it doesn’t seem to match the warfare that’s going on at the Diablo 2 R section.
I honestly doubt it. They don’t link to FB in nearly anything. It is Twitter and Reddit. I don’t do any personal social so maybe that is why I don’t know. I hope not. FB should suffer the wrath of Diablo.
That is certainly your choice. I am actually glad they are making the decisions public right now so that people can refund during the pre-release window. That is the right way to do it. Let people make purchase and refund decisions with as much honest info as possible.
I am not a console player but I did see that thread. I did also forward it. What I don’t know is what Blizz can do regarding the Consoles - they have a contract with the Console maker and lots of restrictions. Changing that means a bit of a laborious process (if it is anything like changing contracts that I am familiar with).
I agree with you there, it’s filled with unintelligent, rude, low lives who love making personal attacks. Worse, the mods do nothing and let it continue. It’s a festering pool of hate that should be banned and made illegal imho.
Yes.
Thanks for forwarding it. If Blizzard doesn’t do anything about it, people will simply stop playing seasons - en masse. As I have said in that thread, massive player abandonment of a game doesn’t look good on the quarterly investor statements. So, Blizzard can either deal with it, or simply look very bad to their investors. They’re already doing a great job of it, what with the censorship of a pro player a year or so ago, the Californian law suit, etc.
