More lovely assumptions. Just because I don’t post does not mean I have no interest.
How many of us pay to speak on twitter? Exactly, so twitter count means absolutely nothing. Also, if the forum usage stats showed there was no more than 300 players hitting the forums, they could still post it on the official channels as they have done in the past. Its like you are arguing for the removal of the official channels. Also, can you post the official count of people visiting the twitter pages. Not comments, posts, or likes, just visits. Next can you post the official count of visits to the first page of D3 general? Not logins, threads, posts, or likes, just visits. If you can’t post the official counts then majority and minority are meaningless.
No one suggested mob rule game development out right but there is plenty of agenda pushing like an attempt at mob rule game development. I don’t see you in those threads offering push back so why come here to try that crap now. Is this an attempt at an agenda push?
I brought up negative resentment and speculation because that is what is in the threads on the forum. Do you not see that or are you following in the same vain as another on the forum who selectively reads. Just in case you need help finding the resentment, here is an example: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d3/t/season-24-ethereal-opinion/42066/72
I’m not saying they shouldn’t post here. They should. My point is, everyone knew about it and it wasn’t posted here officially? They absolutely should, but social media did what it was supposed to do and we all found out, even those if us who don’t use Twitter.
Forums have always been a hive of negativity. Nothing will change that. WoW was huge and insanely popular from day one and its official forums were ripe with it. D3 forums are still ripe with it. I’ve made this claim in jest, but Blizzard could accidentally find a cure for cancer and the forums would be complaining about them putting cancer docs out of business.
We are a mixed bag here. Every announcement of anything has mixed reviews and causes some negativity.
A simple youtube search about D3 S24 Ethereal and you can see those views easily broke 50k+ views
meanwhile in the D3 forum, 14k+ views are the highest for D3 S24 Ethereal topic.
Even in Diablo Reddit, most of the good topicss can easily gotten 1k+ upvotes while in D3 forum or Blizzard forum in general, getting 100 likes in the topic is rather difficult and pushing.
Thanks @Kilometer. Its nice that those guys have vids up on youtube but I don’t go looking for game updates on youtube. Again, depending on viral spread of information when Blizz has official forums and a dedicated official game site seems like a waste of resources.
Just a bit of nuance. I stated page visits for D3 general page 1. You listed views for a specific thread (not the same). An announcement thread in which the first post is on July 9th. I don’t bother with the announcement thread if I’ve already visited the blog article on the D3 homepage, which the first post links to. Also, if I’m going to look at videos like the ones linked above I would have done that at or just after season start. There would be very little reason for me to go back to them at week 2, 3, 4, 5+. Lastly, youtube is designed to be like a social media platform. 99% of the time that I visit youtube I’m not logged in. It is a rarity for me to subscribe to channels, post a comment, or thumb up/down. So here again I don’t engage the algorithms. I usually surf youtube with an adblocker engaged. However, for guys like the above linked, I disengage adblock when watching their videos.
For D4 Q-updates I check 3 places:
the d3 homepage
the d4 homepage
D3 general page 1
I don’t go on a scavenger hunt. I don’t have social media apps. on my phone with the exception of the youtube app. that is pushed by Google. I don’t use that app though.
Yeah. The same goes for the other social media sites, read: advertisement platforms.
The average person in the developed world has an IQ of 91 to 110 and is not an idiot with an IQ of 0 to 25. Only 25% of the population has a below average IQ. Having below average IQ does not automatically make people wrong either.
Equating twitter followers with active or even passive participants is a fallacy.
Nevertheless you’re stating an opinion is a fact. If the word idiot cannot be quantified it’s not a fact. The everyday use is verbal abuse used to dismiss people with no basis in fact. None at all. Likewise a fallacy.
Yeah, look at the world at the moment. You really can’t say the average person is not an idiot when we are currently sneaking up on 2 years of a pandemic that could have been under control over a year ago if people actually did what was needed.
The pandemic is over. Covid-19 is endemic. Vaccines do not provide complete immunity. There is nothing further to be done except treat the infected and avoid contact with them if possible. Clearly no measure has halted it’s spread. If it had New Zealand would have zero cases. People aren’t idiots you’re just wrong. Your opinions are not facts and no amount of goal post shifting will change that.
Yeah, because it makes all the sense to not take the vaccine with the 0.0005% risk of severe side effects to not get the disease with a 2% mortality rate, yeah, that’s SMART. Choosing the option with thousands of times worse odds is something only an idiot does.
For clarification: 1 in 50 die from the disease, 1 in 200 000 gets severe side effects from the vaccine.
I await the blog post at tuesday or wednesday, for whatever reason I’m not betting on a monday blog. When they come to the office or get back to their online calls at monday, they would be fine tuning the latest details and proof read it.
I just hope Diablo 4 doesn’t have compression and stagger issues on audio as much as Diablo 3. On the other hand, all this talk about audio made me realize how many high pitched monster noise are in Diablo 3 as well. I know it supposed to keep the player alerted when they get ambushed but after a while it becomes a nuisance more than an alerting noise.
Unless it’s been delayed again, the blog post should be out today or tomorrow (or maybe even Friday), since last week they had stated that it’ll be up this week.
It really depends on what your relative risks are and that’s different for each person. I’m vaccinated. If I had Guillain-Barré I wouldn’t be. Covid-19 doesn’t have anywhere near a 2% mortality rate. Most cases don’t even go to the hospital. The point is still that most people are not idiots and your opinions are not facts.
Actually it has. The math is not hard, I’m sure you can manage to divide the number of dead with the number of infected and see for yourself that the result is just about 2%.
They’re obviously searching for a “reset” i.e. new audience… Sadly don’t think that’s how the gaming market works, it’s more like a car making industry IMO i.e. = one bad product out there and you’re out
BUT what happens instead, they keep ignorring or “bashing” the customer that gives the feedback about some/potential downsides
The biggest IRONY about the whole thing is that there seems to be some kind of an incentive to “make the games/cartoons for kids/teens” (i.e. in their own way great) again but somehow/someway fails even more
