The D2R Trading post we deserve

Blizzard, Devs, Forum Managers… We need this. Unify trading and eliminate any need for the third party sites.

Keep it simple, no auction house, no gimics.

We require a Trading Forum that is connected to your Blizzard account.
A forum allows you to post up your items, and continue playing while you wait for replies.
A sub forum of D2R for trading, pick a few Trusted Users to be mods, and let the players trade!

Currency can be whatever is desired, or keep it simple, For Sale, In Seek Of, For Trade, Services Needed… ect Post your item, post what you want, wait for offers, trade!
I would recommend a form of currency, this keeps it simple and builds an economy, makes trading efficient, but its not needed, runes, gems, item for item trading, all of that is good to go and its user choice.

Auction: Set your time limit, post it up, let it ride. This is one thing JSP lacks and causes issues in some of those 10 min auction threads, when does it actually end?, who gets it, ect…

Idea: Items connect direct to your account, stats, ethereal, ect. Then you can just post them for sale with a click and dont need to mess with screen shots and image hosting.
That would be a lot of work but worth it.

This type of forum will be used extensively over in game trading(if you can even call it that) and third party websites.
Stopping your play, creating a game, waiting for players to join and then bicker around, maybe they have what you need, maybe they are going to scam you, blah blah… Its not the way.

Of course I agree, but the devs have already said trading will work ‘the same’ As in d2 so I guess I’ll see you guys on jsp.

yep… guess we will have to deal with more threads whining about JSP then, when its superior to all other options out there.

Get used to name again your game “N shako O ist”.

There will be legit forums again, i guess, as incgamers was back in the day. I bet there will be more options beside d2jsp.

Lurking in the game lobby gets old fast. The game needs a centralized trading post that is within the game… Like the old D3 auction house, but without money. Strictly items for items.

I’ve been asking for this for a while now. Make it happen, Blizzard!

There are plenty of options over D2JSP, Discord places, Reddit, Facebook…
I have not done a trade post since 08. That is the worst way to trade

Just copy what Poe does it’s not hard! Trade Tab put item in tab list price Check website message player! Make games and call them shako 4 Vex! It’s 2021 trading all ready takes time and effort away from playing the game!

It needs to not be on bnet though… The whole point is not to disturb your play time with having your character locked in the chat channel waiting, or in a game waiting.

Keep it simple!

This similar to PD2? If so… ehh its a start, need to keep it off bnet though

It wont disturb your time playing.

Post item with iso message… Go play…
Play some more…
And some more…
Go back and check if you have any offers… You see some, but none you like.
Play some more…
And some more…
Check offers again, Oooo someone offered something you want, trade accepted! Items swapped!
Go in game and equip your new shiny!!1!1

Sounds like a forum… lol, but you want this on bnet?

Nothing even close to being a forum.

Yeah I agree it could be on bnet and still work. Might be better if not though so we can still set up trades when bnet is down for maintenance, it’s what I did every time for d2

The only part I dont like about it being on bnet… Is constant messages in game while trying to play, now if there is a turn off notifications toggle, that could work.
My preference would be to keep it separate so that you can just minimize D2R, check your posts, reply or refresh, off you go.

The other point Id like to say is, Blizzard would be much more inclined to spend resources on a forum section, vs a whole new progam on bnet.

Sounds alot like how a forum works though… post your item, player replies to said item with offer, you reply yes or no, trade. Why not keep it simple, forum vs whole new mechanic on bnet?

What I’m thinking goes like this:

  • Seller posts item with a brief iso message. “ISO x items”
  • Anyone can offer any items, they can’t leave a message.
  • Seller is able to browse through the offers and can accept or decline any one of them.
  • The items posted from both the seller and any offers are put in a ‘hold’ through Blizzard.
  • If the seller accepts any one offer, the items are swapped, trade completed. Any other offers are returned.
  • Anyone can cancel at any time, the items are returned.

Yeah I really hated 3rd party websites for trading in PoE that encourage scams ( a lot of whine in global ) , I just wish they add a mail post in camp or farm all by myself.

So, and correct me if I am mis interpreting here, Blizzard controls the item once you post it for trade? Is that what you mean by a “hold”?
If both players “accept” then what, the items magically swap accounts without the need for both players to be in the same game and doing a “manual” swap?

Correct.

The items are automatically swapped by Blizzard. If there is an instance where there isn’t enough room to deposit the items in your shared stash, you’ll get a nagging notification until you make room.

Well I will give you originality points. I dont see Blizzard ever putting the resources in to develop this, unless this is a spin off their D3 Auction House mechanics and they could re-tweek them for D2R.

I still would prefer that, manual trade feel, that would come from swapping over items and saying T4T and what not.

Cool idea though

I’m not saying that the good old manual way of trading will be replaced, merely just an additional more centralized way of trading without having to lurk in the game lobby, creating redundant ‘x for y’ games or having to go to fools gold forums to get an idea of what items are worth.

As far as Blizzard putting the resources for it… It would be a ‘set it up and forget it’ fully automated service.

No its an option. Not a terrible one, just a more, complex and resource heavy one. What if Blizzards “auto” trade server crashes and your items are locked/lost/whatever and now you are stuck waiting for a ticket to be replied to by a human who has 1000 tickets from last night to go through.

I just think adding a sub forum on here with plenty of organized tabs, a centralized currency, PM functions to complete the trade in game, done.
