60 years on and I still love Barney.
I had so many people over the years tell me the wrong meaning of this song.
That’s the way life is.
The writer of this song’s lyrics was at a Don McLean concert and one song of his spoke to her heart.
That is what this song is about: He…Don read all her letters out loud and blew her mind.
Roberta Flack had 2 Grammy Blues Wins in a row one after the other.
Bless your Roberta Flack!
Thank you @Shivan, I had forgotten about this beautiful song.
Hearing it again is so touching.
Roberta Flack is a gift to us all.
If we’re going there, I raise you one John Lee Hooker, although this is not rightfully “soul” music in the genre sense… but, in the hits you in the belly, yeah, I think it qualifies.
Sorry for the very late reply.
I say the same about you having tasteful and diverse love of music and style.
I was raised by a musical family as a side effect but heard so much classical and jazz as a little boy and played clarinet from age 6, changing to alto sax at 12.
@Bassdude no doubt we’re within 10 years age of each other.
I pranam to you. (same as to a western bow of great respect.)
I’m learning the guitar now and just playing scales with feeling is delicious.
Nice to see such unique awareness in the world. (you)
Final Fantasy 14 “In the Balance”, the song about the God of Wealth and Death.
How can FF14 Team can keep making great music. Do they have no limit?
Almost identical for me. My parents played everything from Mozart, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Billie Holliday, Pearl Bailey, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and they even bought The Beatles and ABBA. So I feel blessed to have been exposed to such a diversity of music. That open-mindedness I think tends to rub off in many other areas too. At the very least the propensity to be open-minded wherever possible.
Enjoy (or not, it’t special).
The music is deeply influenced by the literature of a litlle author, called J.R.R. Tolkien
i saw that.
