Ok, now I’m starting to understand this after so much effort, but this would not have happened if the description indicated that me need to alternate damage types for the set bonus to work - two times in a row is very vague. Especially given that some conditions reset the counter - moving to another area, changing skills or reviving.
Considering that I was told here that the Storm Armor skill is not an attack type and does not proc meteorites itself, how could I guess this using only one attack skill?
Well, thanks you for the explanation.
The last line of the 2-piece bonus states, “and the same meteor cannot happen twice in a row.” I’m not sure how much clearer it can be without filling the screen with text.
Storm armour does work to proc the meteors. But again, it will not bring down two electric meteors in a row. And neither will any other skill that does electric damage. You need to use another skill that uses a different element.
Now its clear, thank you! Sorry for my lack of understanding.
You don’t need to “be sorry”, just understand that some members on this forum try to help other players.
And a lot a time, bug reports, are not bugs, but user’ errors.
Don’t hesitate to post on the General, New player help, or specific class forum, if you don’t understand something or need help.
Tal Rasha doesn’t work that well with channeling.
You really need all 4 elements happening.
Try putting Familiar/Sparkflint and Storm Armor/ Power of the Storm on the skill bar and use Ray sparingly for cold and , maybe Barrier Blades for Arcane on the mouse.
I tend to use Magic Missile/Glacial Spike on LMB for Cold and Disintegrate/ Chaos Nexus on RMB for Arcane.
That’s all I will add to a thread that shouldn’t be in Bug Report.
Look at
I tried this build this season and did a “poor” GR115 in around 10mins with 1200 paragons without pushing and a perfect build (some -3- items are not ancient).
My “not awesome” wizard
Thanks!
But this does not explain my situation - why the set bonus on these four elements damage does not work for me?
Because you have only the 2 pieces bonus and the bad skills
OMG, you are hopeless. What part of “this is not a bug” do you not understand? How hard is it to read and comprehend the set bonus?
I meant why do not proc meteors with 3/4 different types of damage, and not why my damage so bad. As you can see, if you did it of course, my character is naked) - its just test and minimum 2 parts is enough to check the work of this set bonus. It should have worked, but for some reason it didn’t.
To TimberWolf:
If you carefully watch my last video, you will notice that for four different types of damage together, proc meteorites never happened at all until I returned the skills build to my old version. Bug there or no bug, I just asked why proc meteors with this skills build didn’t work. Well, forget it, you don’t try to understand what I’m talking about even after I showing my video.
However, it doesn’t matter anymore, I found a perfect combination for myself, in which the channeling work and proc meteorites. Thanks for the idea - I just added a familiar and everything started working correct. Wow! It’s a pity that I had to sacrifice Teleport skill, but what to do - Meteor skill is more important for my build.
Thank you all for help!!!
Teleport is important in this build.
Have you read the link I provided or are you just a troll?
Calamity
Cast a short range Wave of Force upon arrival, dealing 175% weapon damage as Arcane to all nearby enemies and stunning them for 1 second.
If you teleport into mobs, the wave of force counts as an arcane attack, and thus will proc an Arcane meteor.
No, I used to use teleport mainly to run away from fat bosses who like to get close and Shrines/Pylons (Nemesis Bracers item) champion spawns point. But now I had to give it up.
I will try to explain in more detail so that you can understand why it is so important for me to channeling - I use a meteorite build with an energy whirlwind that automatically casts on the cursor position and pulls enemies when I channeling the Ray of Frost. My build includes next points :
- Twisted Sword and Etched Sigil
- Mantle of Channeling, Ranslor’s Folly, Nilfur’s Boast, Frostburn
- in Kanai’s Cube - Grand Vizier and Mempo of Twilight
- and as bonus - Endless Walk set and Squirt’s Necklace (Kanai)
- remaining three slots are clearly not enough to assemble a complete Tal Rasha set, so to make my life easier, I took Crown ot the Primus with passive Slow Time around me
- skills
a) Energy Twistrer / Wicked Wind - reserved for ray
b) Slow Time / Point of No Return - reserved
c) Familiar and Storm Armor / Shocking Aspect - reserved for correct proc meteors with channeling
d) Ray of Frost - my main active skill for build work
e) Meteor / Comet - my secondary active skill for fat bosses and too many enemies
As you can see when choosing between a teleport and a meteor, the choice is pretty obvious.
Of the additional items, only two slots remain - a ring and legs, for which I have not yet found the ideal option for me.
I can’t think of anything else to add to this build according to its purpose. Well, I have not yet come across such items.
You have consistently shown in this thread that you do not understand how this build works so please don’t try and explain it to those of us that do. For example, this is the hero I played this season…
Fire - Magic Missile / Conflagrate
Cold - Meteor / Comet
Arcane - Teleport / Calamity
Lightning - Storm Armour / Power of the Storm
Teleport into mobs and then alternate between magic missiles and comet. Repeat.
To be precise, not this build, but a specific set bonus of two parts. Not to understand the intricacies of the work, especially when they are not obvious, is not a sin - it is a sin not to want to understand them. Anyway I figured out what I needed and got it, so no offense.
if I wanted to, I could do just fine with teleport and meteor without a this set, I wouldn’t even need your other skills, since my meteor gives enough damage to kill large crowds of mobs. But this is somewhat inconvenient - the screen becomes too white. So I leave it for special occasions.
Everyone plays in the style that they like - I, for example, do not like to jump on mobs like a grasshopper, and prefer to kill them from a distance.
In most cases, everything is done for me by the Ray of Frost - freezes mobs, pulls them and throws three types of meteorites at them. What more could I want?
Note: and yes, for a small group of mobs, this option is even stronger than my Meteor skill.
Had you posted this in the Wizard forums asking for help, you would have been advised about said intricacies. However, you initially posted this in the Bug Report forum claiming that it was broken and refused to listen to the advice telling you why it wasn’t.
Because if you had bothered to understand the 2 piece set bonus, it clearly states that it requires the Meteor skill to be equipped. In your video, it shows no Meteor skill is equipped. That is why no meteors fell. As I stated, it is user error, not a bug. You really don’t appear to be trying to learn the game at all, just blaming the game for your problems.
Sorry for that, my mistake, didn’t notice because I’m already tired of trying to explain the problem I encountered.
Initially when i wrote the first post, about the first two points I really had a misunderstanding and this can be considered a mistake. But about the third point, it was not my fault - how could I know about Ray of Frost skill with two different damage in total would not should proc meteors while channeling? This work with three different damages, but not with two.
How to determine if it is a bug or not? I still think it’s a bug, since different damage is applied in turn, it should work too - first cold proc meteor once during the start of the channeling, then lighning proc meteor from the Storm Armor skill, and then cold again, since the channeling still deals this type damage and repeat after when Storm Armor deals damage again. Everything as written in the description - drops once meteor of that damage type and waits for another damage type to drop the next one. But for channeling it only works the first two times at start once for each type damage and nothing happens next. Why does this moment have to be my error?
When I just use the skill several times in a row - everything works fine and the cold meteor has time to fall 2-3 times per second with one lightning meteor. So I quite logically decided this is a bug - there shouldn’t be such a difference between channeling a skill and repeated use.
Then, when someone told me that the Storm Armor skill is defensive and does not proc meteor itself, for some reason you did not correct it and continued to say that this was a user error. Is it fair? So no, I don’t blame the game for all my problems.
So that you don’t say phrase “this is a user error” I updated my first post and changed the name of the topic / section.
I did this because I asked myself the following questions and received unequivocal answers to them. Does the description of the set bonus say that it should be like this? No. Is there any logical explanation for this? Also no. Sorry me but this is a bug.
Yesterday, you moved this thread to the Wizard Forum. You should have left it there.
Allow me to explain how this Bug Report Forum works.
- You report what you believe to be a game bug. (Your original post).
- Blizzard’s QA Team reads it.
- If they determine that it is indeed a game bug, they will pass the information to the Developers.
- If they determine it is NOT a game bug, they ignore it.
- Whether it’s a bug or not, Blizzard will not reply here.
Continuing this discussion in this (Bug Report) forum is POINTLESS.
You should move this thread back to the Wizard Forum. If you continue to bump this thread in this Bug Report Forum, you will end up having the Blizzard Moderators lock or delete this thread.
If you still believe this is a bug, you’ve already provided information and videos for Blizzard’s QA Team to review. There’s nothing more you can do. And arguing with other players, who are trying to help you, is not to your advantage.
In the meantime, you might want to read this:
Ok, thanks for that. I’m just sorry that no one has helped me explain why this is so.
