Strange Pricing in Prime Evil Collection Upgrade

Players own D2R. Upgrade to Prime Evil Collection for 20 USD?

D2R 13.19 USD
Diablo Prime Evil Collection 19.79 USD
Diablo Prime Evil Collection Upgrade 20 USD

Why is the Upgrade even more expensive than D2R and the Prime Evil Collection package?

Weird indeed.

The package contains more D3 than D2 content…

One might be pricing taking into account what you already have while the rest does not? For whatever reason. At checkout, you’ll see the price after deducting what you already have for sure.

Cuz Blizz math. duh.

Are those prices lowered due to spring sale? If so the upgrade offer wasn’t included which explains the weirdness.

If not then someone should have a look at it, just as you point out it is weird looking to say the least.

Which is really annoying when they do that. I was looking for good price on Dawn of Ragnarök addon for AC:Valhalla but they only lowered price of Ragnarök Edition that includes Valhalla which I’ve owned since release. It took Ubisoft very long until they figured out that some people might only want to buy addon.

EDIT: I’m not sure what the OP is talking about so everything below might not apply. If not, never mind it.

Does the Diablo Prime Evil Collection Upgrade exist anymore?

In the shop on both the regular D3 page and the Spring Sale page the upgrade doesn’t show for me. However, I had the upgrade bookmarked in my wishlist. When I click on it there, it redirects to the Rise of the Necro DLC on the Spring Sale page.

Well, it shows for me. Costs 10€. :man_shrugging:t2:

What happens when you click on it?

The “Buy now” button takes me to the shop.

Are you sure that is the Diablo Prime Evil Collection Upgrade, A.K.A. the Digital Deluxe upgrade? The one that contains only cosmetics? It should be closer to 20 EUR if it is.

I don’t speak Polish, however, that graphic looks like it’s an upgrade to the Prime Evil Collection, not the Prime Evil Collection upgrade. Do you own D2R?

If this is what the OP is talking about, I don’t see it in the shop anymore:

No, Diablo Prime Evil Upgrade which is for those who own D3 Eternal Collection (game, RoS and Necro).
“Upgrade” includes:

  • Diablo II Resurrected game
  • Hatred’s Grasp wings and Mephisto pet in D3

Difference to Prime Evil Collection is that it doesn’t include D3, RoS and Necro addon.

On the main screen of Diablo 2 I have:

Clicking the second one (“Upgrade”) takes me to:

but when I scroll down a little bit I have:

Both buttons “Buy now” (from image 2 and 3) take me to the same place, which I showed in my previous post, with the same price of 10€.

EDIT: Oh, when I click the “Buy now” on the 3rd image (the one with 19,79€), there’s a message in the shop: “You are entitled to a discounted upgrade price because you already have access to another version of this title!” (translated from Polish)

Ah ok. Between what you two have said, I think I got it. The reason I thought the OP was talking about the Digital Deluxe was because it is $20, which is the price of the PEC upgrade according to the OP.

I wonder why it’s showing $20 for the OP, (assuming the USD to EURO is ~1:1). Maybe they don’t own the Necro pack.

Whatever the case, the reason I can’t see it in my shop is because I have all the components of the PEC.

Thanks for the clarifications!

Of course it does exist. The correct price of Diablo Prime Evil Collection Upgrade for players who owns D2R should be 19.79 - 13.19 = 6.6 USD.

I was talking about something different. The Digital Deluxe upgrade, which is $20.

I found the DD. It was just tucked away inside the Reaper of Souls expo.

Yea. The Digital Deluxe content of Reaper of Souls is excluded from the Diablo Prime Evil Collection. Needs to pay another 20 bucks.

If you go to the checkout page, does the price adjust?

nope, still 20 usd. Actually I have paid 20 usd to get the Upgrade at a previous sale.

Not the DD. The PEC upgrade.

I wonder if it adjusts if you own D2R or any other part of the collection.
