Stop Asking For Personal Loot

If no better way creating loot mode selection in creating game menu. (choose public or personal loot)

Who is “we”? So far you are the only person I have seen petitioning for it.

You seem rather insulated in what you have seen. Here is a thread where the first post has 90 likes asking for personal loot. There is a multitude of other threads/posts in support of personal loot in D2R.

D2R: Personal/Instanced Loot is a MUST for this game! - General Discussion - Diablo 3 Forums (blizzard.com)

In this thread TannisGunther replied to you yesterday and supports personal loot. Did you not read his posts to you? I am clearly not the only one let alone the only one who has responded to you in this thread recently.

ploot will not find its way into D2R and its simply because too many fans want the game to be what it was and are explicitly strictly against ploot. Blizzard will for sure not risk another sh*tstorm

I haven’t seen anything other than the video I posted for you, in which Blizzard state that they will not be putting in personal loot.

All I am asking is that you leave the game alone, there is a thousand other games with personal loot for you, just please leave this game alone to stand as a perfect remaster, and not a horse designed by committee, which is what you will turn it into if given the chance, no offense intended.

I will not stop advocating for a personal loot option. It is clear to me that a subset of the playerbase would prefer that option. You can argue about what fraction of the playerbase agrees with me but it is many.

I have illustrated the faults in your argument and in depth knowledge of D2R development that has been publicly disclosed by Blizzard.

I will not turn it into anything. Blizzard is the one that has stated repeatedly that they are open to changes (including balance changes in D2R) if the players want them.

If you feel that Blizzard should not listen to its D2R playerbase, you should make a thread to advocate for that. I personally like the idea that Blizzard appears to me open to suggestions.

There is no evidence that the majority favor no changes. In fact, the contrary is true, but some will claim that all polls/surveys that have been done and publicly reported are all wrong and/or fabricated.

Of course you won’t stop advocating for damaging change to an amazing game, I got that sense from you ages you.

I just hope that Blizzard listens to the majority of people who want the remaster to be keep the way it is and not turned into yet another soulless casual cater. There is a thousand games out there for you to partake in that, but because there is just one game without it, that bothers you, and you won’t stop until every game and everyone has to play your way.

I don’t know where you think this chat is going because you will never change my mind on it, I like most people want the D2 remaster to be as authentic as possible.

yea, for changes that the community wants as a whole. i cannot really see right now that the majority wants or even tolerates ploot. You can refere to that survey result as much as you want but you can clearly note a massive wall of people that want the game stay what it is.
If everyone or at least 95% wanted ploot, then i could imagine Blizzard thinking about this

  1. I will post whatever request here on these forums I deem fit within the code of conduct. You do not have the right or privilege to demand I or anyone else modify their posting preferences to suit your emotional or mental whimsy.

  2. Some of us are either older, have motor function diseases and handicaps, or both and it’s virtually impossible for us/them to have any chance at all of clicking on those drops before everyone else does. We also should be able to play with our friends and in public games in this game we purchased and choose to spend our time on while also being eligible to get upgrades and gear that do drop.

  3. Personal loot was implemented for a major reason, none of which was to satisfy people who consider themselves the elite best D2 players and come on these forums to skill shame and condescend mass groups of their fellow d2 players and everyone else who can’t click their mouse button 100 times a second.

  4. If you think that you are a superior player because you used to run around following hammerdin bots as you sat back and picked things up off the ground with virtually no effort put forth, maybe it’s time to rethink that mentality.

I do not know what the majority wants. I think it is fair to say at least 1/3 appear to favor keeping FFA loot only, at least 1/3 favor adding a personal loot option. The “missing” 1/3 who knows. FFA loot is both beloved and hated in the D2/D2R community.

Given these numbers, it would makes sense to me if Blizzard offered that option. The FFA only players can choose that and play in FFA games. Others could choose personal loot if they desired it is a win-win because you give the players the freedom to choose for themselves.

I dunno man, the only loot system I have seen that is hated is personal loot, which is bland and makes the very concept of ‘rare’ and ‘legendary’ moot because it’s all easy to get.

This is before we get to the point of breaking the fourth wall with role playing, as why would one hero see one loot drop and not another? And what about chests? Would it sudden shut closed again to wait for the next player to open it, then it snaps shut again another six times, how silly would that be.

I don’t think it’s a third of players who want personal loot either, far from it, but that’s just what I have seen.

I am hoping that when they talk more about accessibility (as mentioned in the alpha learning post) that they discuss adding personal loot for the reason you stated plus others.

I do not now how carefully you looked at the alpha learnings post that mainly dealt with single player and aesthetic issues, but there is this picture

You will notice that there is a new tab titled “Game Creation”. You could imagine (and this is complete speculation) that this could include having an option to set personal loot for games that you create. This tab (I assume) includes setting the number of players in game and level differences but it could be more than that.

maybe have a quick look at the change request for changed character models? We can agree that pretty much everyone in this board wants changes right ? and yet we are not seeing changes on that, not even slight announcments.
And so i hardly believe that the strong controversial ploot will where they will even risk splitting their community…

And now you are using peoples disabilities to try to guilt trip people into accepting your change, I shouldn’t have expected anything else, that is really, really low.

There are many reasons why personal loot is now preferred. I also have advocated for reducing visual clutter in multiplayer games and make other players pets more transparent. If FFA is going to be kept, then there should be changes made so that players are not just clicking on items but being able to see quickly if an item is of value to them.

You can choose to ignore what the other poster said. I think there is truth to those concerns.

I do not know what will happen with a personal loot option in D2R. i suspect that you may be right in that it will not be introduced. For me, the amazon’s face is a non-issue, since I play D2 and do not hang out in the game menus. Also, the face likely will be covered with a helmet in many cases.

There are zero reasons, and you have a thousand other games that will cater to your casual/low effort desires.

Please just leave this game alone to be a perfect remaster, and please don’t use peoples disabilities to try to push your point, again, what that guy said regarding you is true, in respect to how you will say or do anything to twist the narrative, please don’t do that.

You can call me casual all you want. It does not make it true. I have played D2/D2:LoD for thousands of hours. I played D1 thousands of hours. I have played D3 thousands of hours. I have a level 90 character this ladder season. I would think that means I am not casual.

The truth is many people support adding a personal loot option in D2R. That is an undeniable fact.

My intention is not to insult you, I am not trying to insult you, I am just asking to please let this game be a good remaster and not be destroyed by soulless personal loot systems and binded items.

First, I have never asked for items to be account bound. I also have never asked for personal loot to replace FFA loot. I only asked that it be added as an option at either game or character creation.

For your enjoyment, you pick FFA loot and do not pick the personal loot option and nothing is ruined or affected in the remaster as your loot system is the same as in D2. Others want a different choice but do not want to remove your choice.

Okay well I respect your right to an opinion, I just strongly disagree with it, that is all I am getting at.
