This would be a magnificent Quality Of Life upgrade for A LOT of us. Two Ideas Could Be Implemented.
For a quick add, still appreciated but not loved entirely:
- Make a separate storage per character.
- Why?
- Anyone that wants to run more than one class knows the pain. Due to the way D3 can change an entire build at the magical closet, it has given us the need to store a lot of builds at once.
- If someone has three or more classes, they are limited down to 2 or 3 tabs on a single page of the stash.
- Solution?
- Make a separate storage with a full page of storage for each individual character, and remove a full page from the shared stash. These 5 tabs would be more than sufficient to run as many characters as one may wish per season.
A more useful change but much harder to accomplish (Maybe?)
- Make only the first page of the stash shared. Everything else is individual characters. It would be a cleaner look with less back and forth between multiple stashes.
We would all love this to be implemented. Do not let anyone fool you guys, this would be a huge QoL update for people with more a single character at a time.
EDIT
(I posted this on EU on accident, not knowing there was a separate forum for that server.) Reading some of the Stash space posts here, I didn’t see any Blizzard Answer on the couple I thumbed through, just people that “just know” what the problems are. I don’t care if it is only 2 tabs in a separate storage area, I would just like to have more tabs based on how many characters I use. If this isn’t a problem for you, then you likely only use one at a time.
Thank you,
Jeremy

Each character already has a separate storage. Their followers can hold onto 13 or 14 items, each. That is 39 or 52 “useless” items.

but they can’t hold all items, I understand what you are trying to get at here, but you are simply playing devil’s advocate more than anything. Quality of Life improvements are not made by using the garbage heap that is available.

Not that I mind more space, but we were gonna get more, game couldn’t handle it.
I really don’t see them spend the resources to circumvent whatever core code is the root of the problem.
Nonsense. Its not a game limitation, its one of the many dumb limitations Blizzard is so obsessed about because they dont want players to hoard. But then give us mechanisms to store lots of stuff.
Blizzard told us in Wow where we can have up to 50 chars plus each with a guild bank, transmog bank and resource bank which wouldnt clog the servers but more personal bank space totally would…
They tried the same years ago before the seasons rewarded us with bank slots and now with followers carrying gear they prove it was a lie from the start or they changed something so the game can handle it and still lie about it.
They just dont want to.

Meanwhile, someone with over 40 builds manages just fine…
Yes, it is. They specifically stated long ago that the stash content of all players in the same session has to be synced between the players. The items aren’t just some static objects, they have a lot scripting attached to them as well and that’s what causes the excess load. The engine just can’t handle properly more than 13 tabs full of items from 4 players.
They tried to increase the total to 17 tabs but they discovered issues.

Even something as little as every character gets a single personal stash tab would go a long way in providing additional stash spaces for those who play multiple characters. That said, I don’t see it happening, although I wouldn’t complain if it did.

So, Use mules… Thanks maxroll.gg guy.
Again, Quality of Life improvements are not made by using the garbage heap that is available.
That is why it is called Quality of Life, not Usability of Life
Oblivion:

I get it, the engine can’t handle it. So, what is going to happen? Lets use it again for D4! Screw trying to figure out the problem and write a new algorithm, let it ride instead.
And Yes, if you guys are paying attention, I have no idea how to quote people, but I am trying, lol.

Don’t you love the new kids on the block who are trying to school everyone?
How about every character has a 17 tab vault that is not shared lol.
Highlight the part of someone’s post that you want to quote, like this…
Then click the Quote button that appears, and you’ll get something like this…
yep, I was trying to do it from the pop-up box’s quote button. Didn’t even see the one appear above the text I was highlighting… oops.
Thank you Meteorblade
I would love to only have a couple tabs shared. I would much prefer most of my stash to be character specific. The little bit of shared space would eliminate the need for needing mules.
The main thing I have seen has to do with how many active tabs each player has in a 4 man group. If making a few of the tabs individual increases that amount, the real question then is, Why are non-active characters stashes active?
What are we going to do in D4 if we do not have stash and only inventory, they have never said anything about stash yet? I believe in Immortal you get additional stash if you purchase the Boon of Plenty.
I have 2 toons for each class. 3 toons for wizard and WD.
Each toon carries the gear for the build I have saved in their Armory. The armory stores multiple builds for 2-3 sets - ie. WWRend T6, WWRend Solo Push, WWRend Bounties/Speed 90s.
This way I always know which toon has which build and that they carry the gear for it. Whenever I play a build, I dump their inventory into one of my free stash tabs.
I have every set for every class including LoD builds.
Personally, I would rather have 3 more character slots than more stash space.
Highly unlikely for us to not have any stash space in Diablo 4, especially considering how potentially useful each different item rarities are (not to mention how we’ll want to hold on to to certain items like the essences and such). When it comes to Diablo 4 stash space, it’s not really of question of whether or not we’ll have a stash, but how much stash space would be available for us.
Can pretty much guarantee D4 will have stash. Running a loot find game without storage would be laughable.

I am just saying we know about the inventory but nothing about stash. I am sure we will have something.
- I like that the D4 inventory has separate sections.
We’re all going to play to the Maximum and run around naked punching mobs.
