Yeah, that was what I said…
So what you’re saying is if not EVERYONE is forced, no one is? You’re an idiot.

Oh he’ll love seeing that. xD
They could always let players change between FFA and Priority loot, like PoE, the party leader would choose, and bear with his choice
This i kinda understand, but wouldn’t complain if they put new content.
This makes no sense, because if D2 would be retail till this day with the same mentality as before, new patches would balance things. And let’s be honest, if they just buff a little an underwhelming skill would be awesome.
I made a general statement about clothing requirements in the real world work force, and you used uniform requirements for professional sports as an argument against me. All the while attacking me personally by being flippant and attacking my intelligence. You should look up what it means about you when you call someone you’re arguing with, names.

Yeah, it means I’m factually correct in my statement. And exactly nowhere in your original post did you specify “work force”. (Not that it would have mattered, plenty of jobs that require skimpy clothing)

You’re right, I was far more specific. ![]()
Look what the D3 female wizard and barbarian are dressed in when you first make them. D2 vanilla characters are far more modestly dressed than them. What’s more, there have been more women on the D3 development team than the original D2 development team. Men don’t force women to wear revealing clothing in the real world, yet women are constantly dressing to enhance and highlight what they’re covering up. What so different in a game that has nothing to do with a few bad apples that worked at Blizzard?
(Not that it would have mattered, plenty of jobs that require skimpy clothing)
And taking those jobs that require flesh exposed to make money, is a choice.
You’re an idiot.
I guess if I were to argue on you’re level, I’m now required to call you a derogatory name?
Skill trees show their age here. I have no inclination to invest in any skill that doesn’t contribute toward the juicy stuff at the bottom. Synergies introduced in patch 1.10 alleviate this issue, but of course they have their own issues. Even though I know that my character has X respecs, I want to keep them all so that my character remains “pristine”. Though personally, feeling compelled to bank skill points never bothered me, as it only adds to the challenge. Speaking of which, having a health pool that doesn’t regenerate, I forgot how it feels to care about the damage I take. Good stuff.
As for the visuals, this is Diablo, not Aeon Flux. I rather like the new art, but especially the new Amazon I find positively striking. Sylvanas and Alexstrasza always looked dumb as hell in bikinis, and if that’s a poor fit for Azeroth with all its goofiness, how much moreso the world of Sanctuary?
As pointed out multiple times across various threads that gratuitous sexuality and nudity is nor necessary. It’s really a bad hill to want to die on, especially after the recent news about Blizzard.
Even Marius in the intro sequence is more modestly dressed. I do miss those sexy gams.
You’re right, I was far more specific.
You are talking about fictional characters, then you go on and say “Men don’t force women to wear revealing clothing in the real world” with zero context.

It was in the context of Blizzard female employees in relation to the games they help produce. Women mostly dress the way they want to dress and most often they do so to enhance their physical features.
It’s a question that each person will have to determine for themselves. For me, it’s worth it. But then again, I’ve been saving $0.40 a day since the game was announced and now I can afford the game, a drink and a large bag of chips.
Wife checked out the beta for a bit and said nope. So for me it’s not worth it since I’ve been there done that 20 years ago. Only shot was us playing together.
And I understand. For me, I barely beat it on normal so many years ago and now that that internet is actually more of a thing compared back to the day… there is actually so much to D2 that I never experienced.
Having played the open beta this weekend, my opinion hasn’t changed: it’s pretty and they did an awesome job, but it’s still the same old game.
Lack of QoL updates really kill it. FFA loot is outdated, no balance changes at all, etc. Had a blast with the nostalgia and might have gone for a pre-order, but I’m 1) not confident in the polish of the end product and 2) it’s a high asking price for a visual makeover ($55 CAD).
So for me at least, it’s a pass at this time.
I’m just going to enjoy it for what it is.
There’s simply no way I can support Blizzard’s censorship of art and their shallow attempts at virtue signaling.
What’s next, museums and galleries will start wrapping ancient statues in cloth to cover up inappropriate conduct of their staff?
They could always let players change between FFA and Priority loot, like PoE, the party leader would choose, and bear with his choice
I personally think that would be a decent way of updating the system, but some players are vehemently opposed to anything remotely close to that.

It’s more of a caution kind of thing. The current balance is ok, and rushing to buff all the weak skills may actually do more harm than good. I’d rather they wait a few weeks after release before buffing stuff, so they have good data to base their changes on, erring on the side of keeping the skill too weak rather than overbuffing it.
“Worth” is your decision. Mainly based on your disposable income, your likes and preferences, your time, opportunity cost (especially, naturally, due to economics) and blah blah.
Unless you hold someone else’s opinion above your own, you should decide for you.
I’d say “maybe.” It was for me because I got it free.
big turnoff
It looks like what we see now in Open Beta is what is coming in release - R.F. confirmed no new features to be added until launch: With four weeks till launch we're focused on stability and optimizations. No new features till after launch.
D2R is going to have serious problems when released if they are not confident in how stable the game is. And his words pretty much scream exactly this.
So, don’t get hyped guys, you aren’t getting a polished experience at launch.
