With the legal issues and public perception of Blizzard at the moment, that seems like a mandatory change from a PR perspective.
Blizzard still got their money.
People playing a game for a month, and then moving on, is not inherently a problem. As long as they got what they wanted out of the game.
There are some QoL changes. I havent bought D2R because I still fear Blizzard will mess things up, as they have somewhat already done with the removal of TCP/IP.
A big turnoff for me would be if they do anything that makes it harder to make mods.
Other than that, D2R seems great so far. Some more QoL could and should be added.
But it also very much should remain D2. And not turn into some different game. That would not make sense. Not even if it was a Remake.
As worried as I am, modding is still around, according to Blizzard. Who of course is not a very reliable source.
I dunno. I watched some more streams and the graphics aren’t appeasing to me at all. At this point I don’t know if I am installing even if the game is offered F2P. D2 had its time anyway.
I suspect that it may not be worth your energy given:
Refunding. I don’t trust Blizzard will get D2R right - Diablo II: Resurrected / General Discussion - Diablo 3 Forums
are yuo Really asking this? all you you can read on this forums since it release is how amazing is diablo2 LOD
imagine that amazing game whit updated graphics
I’m almost tempted to buy D2R to just refute your ridiculous and nonsensical posting on the D2R forums. I won’t ever play the game.

For a rated-M game, that just seems silly. If they’re to do an honest remaster and adapt it, nobody should really see reason for outrage when they can just press G and see that both versions are identical.
With no open battlenet online, there is no way to host a mod.

??
“Guys there is a spillway up ahead in the water before the dam. The current picks up and you won’t be able to get out of it. Don’t go any farther!”
“I’m going to press ahead anyway just to tell you there isn’t one!”

nobody should really see reason for outrage
Heh, “should” being the operative word there. People will be outraged over anything.

Good point. Lol I sometimes forget the time we live in.

Offline mods is a thing. And based on what some D2 modders have said, private servers can still be possible without TCP/IP.
But removal of TCP/IP certainly looks like a blow to modding, hence me being skeptical where this will go. Seems like it could be another WC3R fiasco.
As pointed out multiple times across various threads that gratuitous sexuality and nudity is nor necessary. It’s really a bad hill to want to die on, especially after the recent news about Blizzard.
For once I agree with you. Mods like PD2 function off of private servers. Without that, there is no trade and no team play. Very unrewarding.
D2 had not been given play updates since like 2005. Slapping new graphics on it is no grounds to buy it.

With the legal issues and public perception of Blizzard at the moment, that seems like a mandatory change from a PR perspective.
That seems like a logical fallacy.

Look what the D3 female wizard and barbarian are dressed in when you first make them. D2 vanilla characters are far more modestly dressed than them. What’s more, there have been more women on the D3 development team than the original D2 development team. Men don’t force women to wear revealing clothing in the real world, yet women are constantly dressing to enhance and highlight what they’re covering up. What so different in a game that has nothing to do with a few bad apples that worked at Blizzard?
Brevik literally said he had zero tolerance for such behavior and once fired his bf because of it. The internal party crowd of Blizzard is more associated with the modern Blizzard era than it is with the era Blizzard North was around for. Even more, VV is not part of that party culture.
So, we have a game community being punished for behavior that both the original and the modern development teams had nothing to do with, yet D3 female characters are far more revealing, and far more women have worked on D3 than D2. Typical modern day logical fallacy at it’s finest.

Men don’t force women to wear revealing clothing in the real world
That happens every day, do you actually live in the real world? Just a random example, look at the clothing requirements for female beach volleyball players.
If you both want to discuss Diablo, that’s great, but bring this up just makes the thread devolve into absurdity.
All the eye candy is really in revamp of the movies and start up screen where you see your toons select. The actually game play itself graphics feel lacking to me. Specially for the asking price. I guess it each to own as to opinion on that, but I feel if your going to ask that much money for a republished game then the graphics should really be brought up to date, not just bumped up a bit and made to run smoothly on modern computers and systems.

Yeah, because uniform requirements (bathing suits) made mandatory by federations and associations run by women and men for professional beach volleyball is real world. By your logic all women are forced to walk around in a bikini, which is odd, cause everyone knows women hate wearing bikinis, especially when they are at the beach.
