In my case, switching from 32bit to 64bit in battle.net game options helped to resolve this. Apparently there is some bug or issue in 32bit version and they don’t fix it.
Don’t know what OS you are running? D3 has been 64bit for awhile. Where is the option to switch from 32 to 64?
You might not have the option, depending on which O/S version you have on the Mac, as those O/S versions only allow 64 bit applications. If you did have the option, this thread has screenshots of where it would be…
No such option for me. I have been runningg 64bit when ever it came out.
Same here.
Tired every suggestion here and still no go.
Submitted a support ticket.

Still ZERO response from customer support. Seems like a lost cause.
I am using Windows 7 x64. My processor had some problems with my BIOS, and as a result, SSE 4.1 support was missing and for that reason, both Battle.Net and Diablo 3 thought that I am running x86 Operating System. I modded my BIOS to unlock SSE 4.1 support, and got an option to run Diablo 3 in 64bit mode.
The option is located here: Battle.Net - Diablo 3 - Options - Game Settings - "Launch 32 bit client (Instead of 64-bit).
You can use CPU-Z program to check if your system supports SSE 4.1 instructions. If it does, then it’s probably not the same reason.
Not at all. Tried everything on this board and it’s a no. Far from a few reports on this issue. Seems more than enough to get a bit more attention from the diablo team.
So there was an update to Big Sur yesterday. Installed it, restarted the Mac and loaded Diablo. Guess what??? Didn’t fix a thing. We’ve always known its a Blizzard Issue but amazing how no response and no recognition that many of us seem to be having.
I had the same problem today. “scan and repair” (under the options menu) fixed it.
It’s definitely not a network latency issue because it’s consistent, doesn’t affect anything else in the game, and doesn’t affect someone else in my team on the exact same network. It also only occurs in games affected by the inventory lag, and takes about the same amount of time to resolve.
That was my thought too. I quit back in July and reinstalled yesterday. I only experienced the issue sporadically in Season 21 on Catalina 10.5.7 (mostly when joining a multiplayer game, or whenever someone joined the game), and it never lasted more than a minute before everything returned to normal.
Now, in Season 22 on Big Sur (11.1), this issue occurs every single time I open my inventory in any game (solo or multiplayer). I also experience severe display stuttering issues even with just about all details turned down. My in-game frame rate will show 60 FPS, but the game stutters so badly it makes the game unplayable at times. It used to play perfectly smoothly with everything maxed out in Season 21 under Catalina.

Hello, I have the same problem. Did you receive any assistance so far?
I can confirm that changing the texture quality from High to Low (or vice versa) fixes the issue for the duration of the current game. You just have to do this every time you start or join a new game.
You don’t need to save the new settings; just Apply, then immediately hit Escape three times to Cancel and return to the game with a working inventory.
I have this problem as well.

I think Blizzard should just tell the Mac community that they aren’t going to support us any more if it’s true. I understand that Diablo IV is on the iPhone/iPad and Android platforms. but not Mac OS? I don’t know.
It’s not only mac that has this problem.
I have the same problem and i run on win10.

I never had any problems before.
Switching from high graphics to low then back fixes the issue for that session. This has to be done every time I boot the game up.
