Settling the Private Loot Debate

No. Noone gets that.
Because good loot in D2 is still rare and needs to be farmed.
What people get with pLoot is not their endgear. It is some stuff that they can potentially trade. Noone will be able to find their full equipment that way. But they can still play without having to be super-focused to at least get one item every x drops. They can just get a bit less and in return play in enjoyment. Lean back, chat with their allies, play their character as its supposed to be played.
And later they can do the mf run for real gear.

You people need to make your mind up.
Are we too old or too young now?

Could it even be that we are just normal people like you who just have different taste than you?

Freeeeeeee STUFFFFFFFS!!!

This right here. I was playing the original Diablo back in the day and then D2 and LoD. The whining I hear on the loot issue are from people probably not born or still crapping their diapers when these came out and then grew up on WoW and D3. If that’s what you want go play those. This is supposed to be a redo of the classic game is spruced up graphics and for us old timers leave us our nostalgia.

Stop it please.
We are many, just like me, to have been playing the game for 20 years and also want some changes.
I started to play with D2 classic, in 1.03, and then moved to LOD.
And honestly, I could say that a true remake would be based on 1.09 or 1.07.

for us old timers leave us our nostalgia.

Then go play the actual D2. It works, I played it a few months ago.

Buy it as a DLC how about it? support the devs BEYOND the remaster!

ok you get you p.loot… then we also have to ad better drop rate. rifts.remove immunes.ad corupt.ad charm inventory.paragon and more. when do we stop?

Why? MF running is still more efficient. So why would people stop playing the most efficient way? Isnt d2 about min-maxing anymore?

Funny how some of you use this as an argument against “bad” players calling them leechers and not real players, while you are now romantizing it as some kind of feature.
It is not, it is just you throwing away some junk and thinking you were generous. If you want to be generous, share your good stuff.

Again. Some do. But others frown upon those who take it.
And even if it was so nice of a feature. Why on earth would i want to play a game where i take scraps from others when i am doing enough of the lifting to deserve 1/8?
It is a ridiculous system. First people (not the mf-runners) are taking away loot by grabbing it from you, then others come in and give you their junk and tell you to be happy. It is a very sad pyramid scheme.

Sure, you can break out of it, by simply playing more efficient. many do. But that is not the point here. The point is to give normal, casual players the opportunity to play a run without being super-stressed out. It is that simple. Nobody gets any free-bes here. They get what they deserve. Period.

You can still go into their game and play the generous donor. They will still like you. Take your ego-boost and farm on. (btw, you usually dont give the items for free, you require them to fill your game so you get more mf find for the items you are really looking for).

I most likely will do that most of the time.
But sometimes i just want to play a relaxing game of runs and dont care so much about the loot, yet enough to want my fair share of it.
And i know many people who would gladly take the pLoot option as their primary play-style. Because they simply play a different playstyle than most of us.

It is not about breaking the game. It is about giving people the opportunity to enjoy it. Your game will be almost untouched.

If it wasn’t for the graphic, I would still be playing it. As would a lot of people I know. Most of those did not play D3 because all they wanted was Diablo II with updated graphics. And this is what Blizzard promised what Resurrected would be.

If you want something else, please play another game.

People wanting changes already destroyed enough Blizzard games. Please just play one of those and let us have this one single game.

Thank you.

I can talk, because i have arguments.
You only have this one little word, that people on this board constantly like to redefine in the shape and form that suits their argument best.
Get proper arguments or leave it. At least your ad-hominem were well-thought out. Keep it up.

There were a lot of people sharing their good stuff. But I guess that is something you wouldn’t understand.

The graphics, it hurts at the beginning…but then it’s ok.
I understand what you say about D3…I pre ordered it at the time, and when I learnt how it was gonna be, I canceled my order. Well, after in 2016 I eventually went to it but that’s another story.

Thing is, I LOVE D2. But not everything in D2 was perfect, and I’m sorry but I don’t understand why some of us vets (how old are btw? When did you start to play D2?) are so opposed to have “options” or “realms” with a different loot system or a different screen support (ultra wide).
I’ll play D2R whatever the loot system and the screen support. I just don’t understand why people are so opposed to have new additions to the game. The game receive many additions since 1.00.

We stop before that, because nobody asked for these things.
At least not 40-50% of the people.

It is a slippery slope fallacy.

We can have these discussions when the topics arise. And i am happily moving over to your side, when we are talking about drop rates, immunities, rifts and so on.
I have a few more things i would like to see (as everyone does): fendbug, more endgame content like ubers, throw barbs. But these are not topics for the release. but for some seasons in the future, when all/most of us want to see some more variations in the meta.
Still i am aware of the core game, as most of you are and i find it quite frustrating that so many of you can not muster up any other arguments than “you are too old”, “you are too young”, “you played d3, so you should stay there”. I am happy to discuss with anyone on the points and i understand where you are coming from.
Dont assume the worst. And try to have an open mind.

41 and I started playing Diablo with D1.

:see_no_evil:

you bothering the local sheep at the farm is not something I want to think about lol

Oh please. You’re all the same middle aged men fighting over this. Although I’m thinking that those of you who are the most fanatically against pLoot are the ones with no jobs, spouses or kids. Feeling kinda bad for you for that I would be willing to forfeit any demands for pLoot, if that is what makes your otherwise shallow lives a little bit more tolerable.

Funny. First i am the one who “takes free”, now i am the one who doesnt understand taking free.
It is really hard to keep up with all these assertions.

Can we just assume that people argue in good spirit? Or is that too much to ask?

Just like me, except I barely played the first one.
Man I don’t get why you are against “options”.
To each his flavor, right? If there is a strong demand for ploot, as long as you can play shared loot in a realm, what’s the problem?

what you on about. people have been asking for them all. just because all people are not as laud as others, does ther oppinion not count?

i dont want any of them btw.

i have not seen one argument for p-loot other then. because og pickit and bots.
