Season start tips and tricks

Did you say panties? You need a full cycle not a quick one.

You can put that in the “smartless” category ^^, other questions ? or you want me to create a troll category too

please try to stay on topic as the whole intention of the thread was to be helpful.

Or people going for conquests.

An extra 30 min spent levelling could cost you a a number of ranks on some conquests. I’ve missed some rank 1 conquests by a few minutes before.

Missing rank 1 Lionhearted (GR75 HC) in season 6 by 2 minutes was particularly painful. I had spawned the RG when the other guy popped off.

I also missed rank 1 Divinity (GR75 SC) by ~20 minutes in season 23.

Right now you are being as helpful as a chocolate teapot as i was only replying.

The streamer Raxx leveled in the PTR mode HC a DH 1 to 70 without the CR cache, and with seal A + C, and it tooked him 1h50 min.
So for regular players, it should take 2h30/3h

Remember, that’s with a 100% XP Buff.

There was a guide a long time back, before all these quality of life enhancements such as Kadala and Challenge Caches, where one of the major Diablo players put a guide to leveling 1-70 via massacre bonuses, and the DH & Monk took 3.5+ hours. (Sadly, I can’t find it anymore, and the YouTube videos no longer exist). And regular players already take 3+ hours. If you’re saving your Challenge Cache, and don’t have an alt character donating gear, or a player in your party sacrificing their Challenge Cache, 6+ hours is certainly not out of the realm of possibility for hitting 70. There’s a reason these quality of life improvements were added, because leveling use to be a pain.

That said, any real advice should be held off until the final patch notes. Who knows what they could and will change. And hopefully they will change the tree. Right now, the tree punishes every console player. I personally feel if they moved the XP pools down, and now nodes B & C were No Item Level Requirement vs Double Kill Streaks, it would create a lot more choice on how to approach the season.

True. I forgot.

When you are level 18 and before doing the boss bounties, if you are lucky enough, you can equip the broken crown to double the number of gems (if you get 1 diamond before), or to get better rubis gem.

This is a really good thread, Aly. I won’t necessarily use some of the advice here because leveling is going to be much faster this season than it is normally, even for people who don’t group (like me) or don’t know all the tricks to speed leveling, or won’t be able to string massive kill streaks together (though that should be easier this season too). Sometimes that last one takes skills with a mouse and keyboard that some folks just don’t have, looking at you “stutter stepping” and the DH.

But still there’s lots in here that’s good to know.

This is not a great advice.
If you sacrifies the cache on your own, you don’t have dbs to get the upgrade on the blacksmith. Can’t really say “oh well, you can rely on others then”.

I plan to use my CR cache. Because it’s not getting to 70 that’s the issue.

It’s finishing Chapters 1-4 to get your full set → you’re at a severe disadvantage without all the gold. It’s expensive to level artisan, blacksmith and jeweler to 12. It’s more expensive to craft Flawless Royal gems. It’s expensive to reroll stats.

Unless you get lucky with a vault ring or a Gilden Baron, it takes a long time to accumulate that gold.

Crafted Yellows + Blues are tradable on the PC (not the console version though).

I know, but you might want to read what I wrote. You cannot just rely on others to spend their materials on you.
Unless you got a group already, you cannot spend your cache, cause you won’t have dbs to upgrade the blacksmith.

There’s one major trick every top leveling group uses, and it doesn’t matter Challenge Cache or no Challenge Cache.

Level as a Necromancer or be in a group with a Necromancer carrying you. And this season, you can level as a Necromancer, complete Haedrig’s Gift, and just collect it with your real character to level to 70 in under 15 minutes.

This was the EU server at 75 minutes into Season 27:

Out of 85 people to hit 70 in under 75 minutes, 60 were Necromancers, and all but like 3 were grouped with Necromancers. And that’s not going to change this season.

a two hander costs 15 of each material , less than 10% of what you get in the challenge rift cache. If you level up with 3 other players, if only one opens the cache he has enough mats for everything he needs + to craft 3 2handers.

you get good gold from the bounty cache on t1+ which is what im going to do

You still write like people are going to be in groups.
Why not open the cache? You can craft 70 gear, and get some buffs for your character. It’s only 3 days more to open up the level 15 one. By the end of the weekend, you could save up for the rest of the nodes and wait for the cache itself.

Some of the nodes require something that you might not end up getting. Rams gift and so forth.
Open the cache, get a ( most likely ) buff to a skill / defensive. Have mats to craft the lvl 70 gear.
You could wait and not use it, but you would end up relying on rng to get a gift at least

It’s 4 days EU and I intend to play like a mad man that weekend and reach at least the staff requirement. Also , like i stated a few times before, the next cache is for Hardcore.

You still rely on getting a gift, which might not happen for the first week or so playing.
I’ve read from multiple players, that they didn’t recieve any, even though they completed the season the first weekend and was running speed 90+ grifts

Absolutely. They were very clever with this cache decision and how they designed the tree to match the cost progression. You will get down the tree much faster with all of the cache goodies.

And to top it off, which may be just a nice coincidence, the Haedrigs bags contain some good early farming sets. You’re just going to accelerate so fast with the cache vs without it.

But…so many good things in that tree tempting you. Decisions, decisions.

Gonna be fun running for the staff materials… But hopefully people in chat will help out, they usually do
