I got luckier than most. My seasonal characters (main and an alt to play with) are fully intact, altar and all. No Haedrig’s gift in the in-game mail for me. I suspect that’s only given to those that roll back manually or whom Blizzard applied backend rollback to on their side. I must have been inactive long enough that I didn’t have a problem and I can go on my merry way. I’m probably in the minority though.
I’ll make sure to do that the second you land on Park Place with a wad of money in your pocket next time.
Yeah. I had one seasonal char on EU that I didn’t interact with (or even log into the region) until the sesson was back up there. It was fully intact with no Haedrig’s as well.
I wonder if interacting with a char while the season was down is what resulted in it being reset? Seems a few others have speculated something similar the last couple days.
Im the same way. I was lucky and kept my WD fully geared with a full stash of items in his personal stash. I speed farm GRs to get my paragon levels and have a ton of extra paragon allotment , but not on my actual toon, not sure if they are applied (not sure if this make any sense) No gold, but it’s building up fast. Still working on my altar. Should have it finished soon.
Played around a little. I had managed to shoot myself in the foot by stashing my nice Tal Rasha ammy breaking my 6 piece bonus.
You start out with all your paragon points assigned, showing negative sums (because the total is zero). No effect though, move speed is +0.
This changes however as soon as you get one paragon point (which is simple since they are at 0). Then you have your full paragon effects back as they were! You just can’t gain new ones until you reach your previous level.
Cube is gone but the first three cube effects still apply. After you get it you can see them again. 4th cube slot is empty and can’t be refilled without finding the item again, because cube inventory is also wiped.
Seems they ended it for those online at the time. I finished the HC season early December so went playing other stuff. Checked in for any new start & saw Old Tristram anniversary so ran that again. No problems at all, have 7 heroes all equipped as they were when I left the game.
Oh I’m sure rollback will work. The thing is, what you’re getting with rollback. Nothing And that’s even according to customer support. I will not get my materials back… I will not get my legendary gems back… I will get SOME (nobody knows how many) paragons back… I will not get my altair back… So what’s the point ? Well… no point… Blizz messed up from top to bottom this time. Like I said… some situations can happen. But it matter how they deal with it. And Blizz said “F you… go play new D4 season”. Like hell I will…
Well, for you, your time doesn’t matter. Can’t blame you… must be a personal thing. But for me, my times matters a lot. And this time, it was wasted. So I will make as much drama as I can
Not to put too fine a point on it, but this is so far false. It reverts you back to before this fiasco state. And everything will be restored.
But anything you have done since the date you choose will be lost or undone.
So. If you choose the rollback option, it will rollback to the date you choose. Which has to be the 4th or earlier. And you only get 3 rollbacks on the account.
Fortunately for me, I had not logged into the character since the season ended until after it was restored. So in my case, the cube still had the 4 items assigned, though everything else was gone from the stash, and the other QoL stuff reset, along with neg paragon. I had to farm the cube, and there are no items in it, but I had 4 items selected still.
afaik they can’t touch paragon at all or bug is gone (untill his paragon is higher than non-season’). there are negative paragon points normally, equal to nonseason amount.
I think I express it the best way I can and someone with first grade should be able to understand it.
Negative visually, when you open your champion and see how the negative is positive.
Unless you believe somehow 2000 paragons rat necromancer suddenly beats the records of all 10k paragon players before him.
the bug is the paragon from nonseason transferred to season (together with items). But blizz failed to apply negative points, they work only if you click reset. And there is no button to allocate new points until you are higher than non-season.
im trying individual rollback but its not working on my end, im getting an error like
Something went wrong on our end

Just got my second first-GR70 primal of the season (Nilfurs, but with bad stats).
And fun fact - first GR always gives a Bane of the Powerful, even if you have one equipped.
People aren’t saying their rollbacks “worked” while not getting anything in the process. That would be the opposite of worked.
The reports here are indicating that their chars, gear and other states were restored properly. I’d go with the actual outcomes people are having regardless of what support says.
And about that, Support telling that you get nothing is pretty sus. They would just link/quote the Rollback support article which does not not state that people will get nothing back.
Another recent example:
This implies the character was logged into after the season initially ended and the combined paragon from both non-season and the fresh ended season combined gave that character more points, which were then added to the character, prior to the season then being restarted.
Either way, you aren’t getting extra paragon points here.
If your paragon board shows negative numbers:
Its a result of the paragon being moved off the character into non-season.
Any paragon levels you earn in this state will lower the difference. However the experience you earn will still be added as it usually would be. No one is getting “extra” points here.
It looks borked, and doesn’t appear to be correct, but remember too that paragon levels are not linear. They take progressively more and more experience to gain a level.
Someone with a 2000 Paragon level that got reset with essentially -2000 points can be leveled back to 2000 again, but the combined total of 2000 paragon twice would be less than 3000 when added together.
Maybe this doesn’t make a lot of sense, but no one is getting anything extra.
Now.
Those that had played the hero after the season ended but before it went back to season, AND had changed the attributes in their Paragon (to get rid of the nag + button) will now have a value of paragon = to what they had in non-season as a total. But they would still need to earn that amount of paragon in order to continue to add to the character further. Which means in most cases, none of those people are going to get to do that. But whatever experience worth of grinding they do will be added.
I’m already back up to exactly 600 paragon. I have 575 more levels before I reach where I was. And that is doable, since I was only at 1175 to start with. Once I go past my previous 1175, I will be able to use the buttons again. Not only that, I will still transfer that additional experience earned toward non season again, and probably get another 60-80 levels there.
Seriously, all your complaints just amount to splashing water around the pool; it achieves nothing and perhaps making it worse for bystanders. The stuff you have “lost” just sent to your non-Season side of things and this game never had any “competitiveness” to be harmed, so it’s best that you enjoy the game as it is. The power you got from checking your non-Season stash by being completely clueless, could be a blessing in disguise.
As for the errors, it’s possible that the roll back date you have chosen didn’t exist or there’s some other technical issue going on. As Leviathan said, it could be snapshot at random intervals and restore point may or may not exist at the date you have stated. You already wasted one roll back out of three limited ones across the life span of your account. Stop trying to goad people to waste their account roll backs.
You are very much wrong here. I talked to customer support about this and no… you’re not getting everything back. It’s their word and their website that says it… not just my words. That’s why I am not willing to rollback.
You are correct. They did send me a link and it says there that you’re NOT getting everything back. Like I mention before… for example, you’re not getting your materials nor you legendary gems back. And even things about paragons back are not clear. So no… it’s not my imagination nor just my words. Also… because I am a stubborn little… uhm… ekhm… I asked multiple questions until I got my answers, so yes… I did confirm everything that I stated above. What you are getting is some items back (maybe all of them ?). But that’s least my of the problems if I still need to grind entire Altair back. Most items that I need I do have on my character. So what I need I am not getting back. That’s why I said “nothing”.
can you share that??
Reports are that mats are not getting capped, so that’s good.
No one has reported that the leg gems are not getting restored.
Getting “nothing” as you have been maintaining isn’t correct, but it came from somewhere.
I haven’t heard any reports that it hasn’t been restored, so it’s possible that it is. If anyone who has done a rollback can check, that would be helpful.
Based on how Support usually works, I suspect its this:
