Please fix the visual effects. I have had the screen get so saturated with color that I couldn’t even see my character.
Thanks for the update, looking forward to further news!
Thanks for stopping by to let us know something is being done. On the visual front not a lot needs to really be done, just not changing the color filter in the viewport (that causes the illusion of the field of view changing during the transition) and changing the snow effect to use the current Sescheron snow effect, not the original one that it is currently using.
It would also help HC players trenemdously if the Classic team would flag the effects’ damage aspects (especially the combo physical/lightning beam) as non-reflectable. Currently that lightning beam can one shot you when reflected off of mobs that are capable of doing so (e.g. Dervishes).
Surprising. I thought you ain’t gonna respond or at least it will take a week or so. Which it nearly did… I wonder if art department is ready to admit that full blur and little contrast in the pallette wasn’t a “bright” idea after all. I know I sound bitter but I wasn’t happy about the art direction of D3 from the start anyway.
I’m also curious what will be the solution to all that? An additional option for brightness and contrast or art direction changing in a time span? Just don’t fall silent after you gave people a sign of change. People ain’t supposed to figure it out themselves without developers stepping in.
Not season related but just a general tweak I would like to the Speed stat become uncapped and the stat in general getting a slight numbers bump to make playing more fun. Nothing meta breaking but just a new general standard update to gameplay.
It’s just shows the lack of testing on seasonal theme and that it has NOT been tested enough while been made. Players who played PTR are actually the ones who tested it and found out the none intended theme related AD damage bug.
And now the abuse of stacking seasonal theme stacks and turn it in to a timer game… , where the players has zero engagement with the theme, and just they wait for the godly environmental damage boost to clear the GR for them …
Hope a hotfix applies soon that saves season 21 before it’s too late …
Actually, fix the way it is exploited but buff up the damage.
In a push szenario it barely reaches 100 stacks and then deals like no damage. And in speeds it spawns somewhere 2 screens behind the character or just hit Urshi while i upgrade my gems.
It was so obvious that it either is useless or completely OP (by exploiting or full commitment on the season theme, playstyle wise).
Please disable Trails of the Tempests when doing Set Dungeons ty!

PTR Specific:
Note: The following issues were only live on the PTR, but we’re including the fixes here for visibility to indicate intended functionality on live.
Seasonal effects no longer deal area damage.
Seasonal buff resets if player exits and reenters a rift.
Seasonal theme should no longer work in Set Dungeons.
Fixed Maltorius' Petrified Spike dealing additive bonus damage instead of multiplicative.
Fixed seasonal buff that sometimes may drop off whenever the player enters an invulnerable state.
Changed seasonal buff to base its damage on the amount of kills. (not really a bug, more of a change)
i think all of this is on the live , perhaps a patch soon ?
Thanks for the acknowledgement. I’m hoping something will be fixed so I can play without seizures.
I don’t mind if you add free Convention of Element for S21 Season theme.
The problem with the S21 season is it doesn’t really help me to kill those mobs as the season buff always appeared after the monsters were dead or I was in the middle of finding monsters.
So far, from what I have seen, season buff only benefits on the high level GR push party while it does nothing really beneficial to normal play such as bounty run or solo run.
just remove theme, ban exploiter and is good. easy right? even such a “dev team” should manage that?
The “exploit” can be easily executed by normal play. This isn’t a trick that you have to go and do something so very specific or outside of the Grift. Everything is inside the Grift.
So are you for botters, exploiters, etc.? your business…
then why play at all? do everything with K.I. and cheats?
and drinking beer in the evening are you laughing at everyone who hasn’t even reached 1k? (all while your bot farms paragon at home)
Well, as many before, i think, much better than this so called “buff” would be better to have season without any buff. Green circles are bad in many situations (plagued etc), lava wave is… Well… expendable… Tornados are good for what exactly? Running over screen and hit something one per hour.
Please remove this theme:
- Screen is too dark, i can’t see much, keep bumping on walls. I look at more the mini map on top corner right than looking at the main screen to move around
- so many players reach 150 thanks to season theme. No more motivation to improve the gear and paragons
I disagree. While, yes, those improvements would be better than nothing I feel as though the mechanic they recycled (kill things and random crap happens on the screen) is the worst mechanic in their rotation. If they plan on being lazy in a season and can’t introduce something that changes builds or adds a gameplay element then do something that is non-intrusive like add a new goblin type or something. Anything but the on kills buffs. I think people were desperate for anything new and were willing to take anything a few seasons back and it’s come to a head now. The kill-based buffs at best do nothing and at worst do this. Season buffs are crap and this one in particular needs to be rectified mid season.
This is for PezRadar and/or anyone from the Classic team that might see the contents of this post.
Here are some examples of what this theme is doing to us while we play:
In the above image, the seasonal theme has darkened the map to almost no visibility (in combination with the already existing “fog” color filter in use) and the lightning beam’s brightness creates a very harsh visual for players.
In the second picture, we’ve got the darkening effect (again) coupled with the original snow effect that was introduced into the game when Sescheron made its debut.
The snow was later changed to what you see when you enter Sescheron currently or are in a Sescheron type rift map. That is, the “fixed” snow only goes downward and does not change angles as you move (no nauseating or disorienting visuals) and there is far less snow in general, so we can actually see what’s going on. The seasonal theme needs to use the current Sescheron snow, not the stuff you see in the picture above.
The third picture here should speak for itself. This is what happens when the tornados appear on a sand map. You get a darkened map, the tornados (until they’re done), and a perpetual sandstorm. Combine the first and third issues and you have a map where you can’t see anything at all. Oh, and this picture also has a snowstorm on top of that because the theme is bugged and triggers back to back to back a lot of the time.
Now that you have seen a glimpse of what we’re playing through, also understand that the darkening and visual changes persist until we leave the map to go anywhere else. They don’t ever go away on their own if you remain in the map. Imagine having to deal with a rift like this. Sure, you can get to the next exit - if you can find the exit in all of the visual blockage onscreen. But you’re just as likely to die from trying because you can’t see anything.
So this is what we the players are up against. “Live” Instagram color filters and some really gnarly visuals that just blot out everything beneath them. These really need to be ditched post-haste.
Do us a favor and just turn off the effect entirely and/or go back to a cube-everything or LoN buff. At least those are useful to everyone and extremely fun, and don’t absolutely ruin visibility for absolutely no useful effect. Or maybe a free Convention of Elements buff instead of this one. Whatever it takes to not fill the screen with garbage.
Thanks for the response regarding that topic, nice to see the interaction and communication, really better than getting nothing/silence. Hope to see/hear some good stuff soon.
