RMT & D2JSP - Big problem - Please read

Its not about ‘fixing RMT’, it will exist yes?
Stop looking black and white on things, thats not how life works.
They should still fight it? Jesus. ignorance.

They will fight it but it will not matter.

WoW still has a very very active and disruptive RMT scene despite the enormous amount of accounts they claim to ban every single week. FFXIV as well.

D2R’s RMT scene will not be impacted at all by bans. People still take risks because, guess what? The average client of RMT websites isn’t Mr. and Miss “5$ for this item please”, it’s Mr. and Miss “my disposable income is 5000$/month so gimme your best stuff”. Ban their account? They’ll buy a new one. They don’t care.

Those sites float by on the backs of excessively rich people with money to burn.

You haven’t really honored us with a solution to this problem. All you’ve done is imply that we are unaware of the problem, and that the development team has done nothing to stop it. When people tell you that they are aware of the problem, and that the development has tried to stop it, you proceed to presume our state of affairs.

Everyone here has agreed that RMT cannot be stopped.

Botting however, can be detected. And should be given a priority, more so than they have in the past.

Botting is in the same boat. WoW and FFXIV have extremely busy and disruptive botting communities and no amount of bans has been able to stop them.

These are not issues they are going to magically fix. These are issues they have been trying to fix for 10+ years in WoW and to this day, still have not been able to. They won’t be able to fix it for D2R either.

D3 is was a great game minus the lies of pvp in trading were not delivered …
Could have been a great game but blizzard did not handle the bots in they overtook the game ruined it No pvp No trading in lack of support banning the cheaters kills the game …

Did it sell alot of copies sure but the amount of people who fled the game was Massive cause of said problems … !!

Go look at botting in wow and tell me they will be able to do anything about it. You guys are delusional.

They will try, and they will fail.

Yep. And D2R will be the same because they’re listening to all the hardcore players who demand a super hard, identical experience to D2. So the only people who will be playing D2R a few months after release will be the same people who still play D2 now, plus thousands of bots that farm items for them.

But nah let’s not change anything about the game and let’s bring back all of its flaws so that RMT can thrive again.

wowclassic took them a long time to fix, but yea, you should go take a look, the classicwow servers are WAY CLEANER, and multiple of the bots are having downperiods, cos their users are getting banned.
INDEED Mate, go have a look!

The bots/pickit programs are probably back in a week after the official launch day but I’m very certain the ban waves are mort frequent than the original diablo 2.

Lol I have seen it. Botting is still there. It is a constant battle and sure they have periods where it is higher and lower but it is still there. If you think they will stop or almost stop it for any length of time, lol.

Well yeah, this game will probably get active support and monitoring for a while, unlike the original D2. Still, it’s gonna be a big mess of bots, RMT and pickit, and they just won’t be able to do anything about it long-term.

The good thing is they’re adding a report button in D2: R! So, this makes it harder for botters, etc. to be in public games. They’ll be banned because other players will report the illegal activity. This will restrict botting to solo games, and if so it would be harder to get items anyway because without any players in their solo games the drops are less.

WoW and FFXIV have easy report buttons too.

It does not solve the problem.

Also, you can get plenty of drops in a solo game using a Magic Find build. It’s how high-end farming goes in the first place. And that’s how bots will do it too.

May not solve it completely, but sure does help a lot. Yea, I understand that, but at least we won’t be seeing GGBaal Run-9004 in the games list because people are going to report the botters in public games.

Solo play until they can get their 8 player bot teams running… Then we’re back in the same boat the original game is in now with brigades of them running, flooding the game with items.

That brings up an old idea on throwing a brick wall up for bots… A test to prove they are human.

You will definitely be seeing those things anyway. D3 has no RMT to speak of and still has a MASSIVE bot problem. If they can’t fix botting in D3, a game they actively support and make new content for every 3 months, how would they fix it for D2R?

this right here is why we should not have open trading in D4. straight P2W, like any mobile game.

Back to d2, i dont think they can do much here.

Captcha at random intervals. Yes please. So much yes.

“There are ways around Captcha, it won’t help at all!”

You think the average d2 botting kid will know how to circumvent captchas?

The average botting kid is using botting software which will have anti-captcha measures.

The very definition of botting is that you let the bot do all the works. That includes bypassing countermeasures.

So it won’t help. Other games have tried.
