atleast we can both agree on cheats should be gotten rid off pickit mh bots all off it, out with that
agreed cheats are bad for sure.
Unfortunately that hasnât nor will ever happen. Just like the Cybersecurity industry, exploits are always evolving. WoW retail and especially classic are the two biggest MMOâs currently being botted and they are paid subscription services on the same Battle.net as D2R. If Blizzard could instead mitigate the stealing of loot with a simple optional personal loot toggle then why wouldnât they help mitigate this risk in D2R. They already did in D3 and it worked against the pickit scripts.
I think a lot of posters ITT didnât watch the video, so maybe theyâll take the 20 seconds to watch this and see that Rhykker is advocating for personal loot.
But doesnât he say, the total loot dropped doesnât changed? The total item drop stays the same except itâs now allocated. Base on this rational, I get the feeling youâll sometimes get no drops and then drops that only belong to you.
So if you donât pick up the items, it opens it up to FFA but in terms of total item drops. Itâs still the same.
Or do you think he means something different?
nope thatâs it some people are just pretending not to understand (or maybe they actually donât and that is almost a scarier thought) what they are being told as simply as possible about over all loot amount staying the same.
Two loot systems would be a terrible idea. Iâd rather have ploot as the only approach. Not happening? Thatâs fine. But this essentially reduces the number of builds people are going to farm with to a below D3 level of meta lol. Letâs see how big this overhyped economy gets 2-3 months after release.
They arenât loot systems just distribution, but why would 2 be a terrible idea?
You would be splitting the player base. Adding to more confusion of the newbies, unless of course, nobody here cares about them at all. Imagine a new player coming from D3 to find that, in addition to the lack of inventory space, you canât even pick up anything in FFA. Then you notice that itâs possible to switch to ploot, but only to realize that you now canât join your buddies who are running the FFA mode.
so basically like us east vs us west or open bent vs closed bnet in d2lod? or hc vs sc. or ladder vs non ladder? yep that kind of thing would be terrible for d2
Sarcasm aside, in all seriousness, I think the player base will be much smaller than people hope and it will diminish really quickly without any quality of life changes to attract fresh blood. I saw this already during the beta weekends. D3, Grim Dawn, PoE players hope on, spend 5-10 min, shrug and quit. Iâd rather have everyone on the same page when it comes to loot distribution system. But for the new playersâ sake, Iâd make it ploot for all. This could even reduce botting maybe.
never bothered with ploot in Grim Dawn myself. But I also did like 85% of grim dawn solo.
itâs hard to say how many people will play blizzard probably has an idea based on pre orders but i hope itâs a sizeable amount.
They have already stated personal loot is not happening for launch so we will see how the numbers do with just ffa.
They can add personal loot after launch of the numbers are low on sales or just to make a large portion of the audience happy, but i donât think they need to remove ffa at that point.
I think a simple toggle in game creation and having a selector in the join tab to show ffa, personal loot, or both types of games would be the best way to do it.
That would have the personal loot option for people who want it but also keep the ffa for the diehards who are still playing and donât want personal loot and it would be pretty simple for new players because post launch if you are joining because of the added personal loot you know to look for it and your friends can tell you if you donât know.
I actually quit it Forum when i heard P-Loot is not a thing, now i am reading it can be maybe in future a opt. thingâŚnow for real
You cant run and its not working well for a game like D2âŚto run 2 Loot System in 1 EconomyâŚthis will not work very well.
It will be complete out of control.
We need 2 Servers for that but we need aswell Full Modding Support. D2R, feels like Glass Cannon and this game will be at 23rd full of bugs and problems released,i see this already coming.
the loot distribution is different the systems are the same. same chance for things to drop, same amount of drops, and same quality of drops.
If 8 people go into a ffa game and 5 items drop, 5 items are added to the economy if you could some how replay that game and switch it to personal loot there might be different people walking away with the items but 5 items would still be added to the economy.
Iâd rather they shove a hot poker up my butt than design anything based off of streamer/youtuber comments.
Thatâs gâdamn right they should not base anything off âcontent creatorsâ
Mrlamasc, dbrunski, rhykker none of them should have any more or less influence on anything than the rest of us.
It will be funny, if they ever implement ploot, to join your games and farm all mf areas before you reach them.
You can do that with FFA loot too you know. In fact a lot of that is going to be going on at release as it stands currently
Yes, i can do that, but i never do that because i dont want to.
