Has this ever happened? I’ve never once encountered modded players/items in closed Bnet. Last time I played was during the early days of Diablo III.
Most mods works via DLL injection, which are checked for closed Bnet and you won’t enter if they’re “dirty”.
Now, maybe there was someone who succeeded in doing so, but never read about it and can’t find it on Google. I’ve a lot of doubts it’s an issue.
I see only 2 things:
- they’re making up excuses, they do NOT care about our security, they just wanted to remove said features
- they’re like Apple: they do not want anyone to meddle with their games
They’re a big company with few iconic games, so they need to avoid any deviation from the established portrait.
Hence all the ugly choiced they made so far.
I’d really like to get a refund for DII:R, I’ve been extremely disappointed so far. Also, seeing how Blizzard behaved in the last 10 years, I highly doubt I’ll ever give them money again.
Goodbye Diablo IV I guess.
