I have never missed a Diablo season launch night. I’ve never missed a wow expansion.
I’m sad to say this is just too close together for me, for how obsessed I get with these games. I have to choose one.
Edit: I choose Diablo. Let’s get it!

A dedicated player can sprint through the Diablo 3 season conquests in 2-3 days… Anything beyond that is just icing on the cake IMO.
I’d understand the fuss if Diablo 3 had more longevity as far as the time needed to reach ‘end game’ status.
You still won’t miss the launch night. If they were launching on the same day you might have a case.
Non-issue.
Edit - When did they give a solid release date for Shadowlands? Last I read it was still undecided.
im EST time but i buy 2 monsters and beat the season guardian in 14-18 hours every season for 4 years now then don’t play until next season but for people that play WoW i feel bad for them that don’t rush season
I feel the same for those that finish the season in a night, only to start posting and complaining about it the next day.
Back on Oct. 29th. It’s fairly easy to miss if you aren’t constantly searching for Shadowlands info though.
I don’t think I’ve ever finished a season in less than a month as I’m a pretty casual player. I want to get back to raiding in Shadowlands in some kind of regular pattern so I’m gonna have to gun for season completion in a couple of days if I want the new stuff.
If I don’t make it then I don’t. Not gonna sweat on it as I have all the possible stash tabs I can have now.
What’s with the gold find paragon points change? Sure, I know we have all the gold in the world and don’t need much more, but what possible use is changing it to a minor increase in gold pick up radius as the pets go after it all for us anyway? Surely this is a nerf if anything as the radius is probably pretty low so we end up missing a load before we bump up that paragon?
Still, it’s only gold. When you have 30 billion, who gives a hoot. And I like the idea of having a fourth cube slot to do some tinkering this time.
Good time to learn man. It’s easy, most people I know who want to go for they journey are done at 3am-ish, so ~10 hours (including leveling and short dinner break). Of course you don’t need to play until 3 am, you can go sleep at a reasonnable time and play the saturday too.
Have you never been annoyed because your character couldn’t pick a progress globe without going over it twice or sometimes even 3 times ? I know I have. I am glad they increased the gold and pick-up radius stat instead of gold. As you said, we have plenty gold already anyway.
Really? It takes me 24 hours to get guardian.
Any dedicated player will complete the journey before Shadowlands so it shouldn’t be an issue
They land on two different days. So what’s the problem again?
But I will be exhausted doing two launches back to back. It’s not healthy.
That’s the life of someone who games
It’s actually a net buff in terms of gold pickup capability as it affects those annoying progress globes too. You don’t lose any pickup radius you already have as the paragon points are a bonus to the base pickup radius and do not take away from that. This helps Witch Doctors a ton with some builds that rely on gold pickup radius. The one downside is players might actually want to reset those points to zero when doing certain runs for Avarice/Avaricia as too much pickup radius can be detrimental.
I kind of whish that pickup radius had been added to that utility slot so we kept the gold find bonus as well, but losing that isn’t a game breaker by any means.
D3 season usually last for 3 months and I really doubt that the Shadowland has enough contents to get you guys’s occupied for 3 months.
What do people do when a real crisis comes along?
Then don’t be stupid about it.
There’s really no reason to push either launch. You’ll have Shadowlands for ~2 years, and everything significant will be locked for weeks.
D3, you have 3+ months. What’s the point of finishing in the first couple days?
In the future Diablo seasons should only start when wow is in content drought. Lol
Ever since Diablo 3 came out I’ve always struggled balancing wow and Diablo. I remember I used to pray we wouldn’t have a full 20 players for mythic raids so I could go play Diablo when it was the first couple weeks of a fresh Diablo season.
I start to wonder, if they set the start date 3 days before shadowrelease on purpose to split the player into the games and the server. We all know about the lags on PTR through the season theme. Blizzard know many rush trough and then maybe go back to non season or other games, so the lag problem might be smaller, if many players start the season later.
By the way
I am a casual player, too. I need weeks to finish up until guardian, too, because I still prefer to play solo.
But you can start 3 days D3 without stress, just to enjoy as far, as you get. Then switch to Shadowland and after a few weeks go back to D3 to finish up until guardian.
No. They should not compromise one game for the sake of another based on the small percentage of people that no-life new content and play multiple titles.
Even you acknowledge it’s a bad decision to do what you’re planning to do… Blizzard should not have to design to avoid players making bad decisions for themselves. Instead, you shouldn’t make bad decisions.
