Your cooldowns; you check your cooldown cycles to see if it worths picking something up or not and push forward without losing time. That’s the dynamic, it always was. Every action supposed to have a backdraw in game design, otherwise it fails to hook you up.
In Greater Rifts, in a time trial and doesn’t even bother you with items until the end, where you are greeted by a loot pinãta. In all other end game activities, bounties and Nephalem Rifts, you pick loot because it’s a lootpicking simulator and it’s the only aspect that gives a variable to encounters. Your character progress can outgrow this in time or reach a insurmountable amount of sustain, but that doesn’t mean game has to neglect this and shape it to your tastes.

Not even the Seasonal power creep Altar gives you this for free and you still pick up small items like gems and crafting materials manually. If this ability gonna ever apply or featured in the core game, I’d say you should curb down your expectations. It can indeed apply if feedback is positive, but it didn’t come up until this time for a reason.

If pets salvage everything from the start you won’t have anything to upgrade when you already have low gold income from monsters and bloodshards at first few levels. Although, this can easily be tied to the Conqueror phase of Seasonal Journey if developers see fit. Have some patience.

This ain’t gonna happen in my opinion. If you want mobility from Hoarder, you won’t have damage, that’s a trade-off when picking your legendary gems. I’m sceptic towards GoE too.

You may wanna keep well rounded jewelries, and if you can compare, some regular Legendaries or Set pieces can be an upgrade to one another. May have a use but it’s way more niché than you think.

  1. would much prefer having those things behave as gold does, so we don’t have to wait for the pet to pick it up. would also benefit from avarice band/pickup radius.
  2. instead of auto-decline, let us decline by pressing escape key. would make the process faster and less cumbersome while still allowing us to accept if needed.
  3. I’d add a hotkey to make the entire UI clickthrough. so you go into the GR, press the hotkey and the UI stays out of the way until you’re done.

  5. this would make life so much easier. for those who say you might want to keep stuff and not salvage everything, just stop by stash before you salvage. it just inverts the order in which you do things, and allows you to get rid of your stuff so much faster.

Just to be clear, if a friend does invite you to a boss fight, then complying is polite.

But, the notification that someone entered a boss fight is not always an invite from them, it’s just an automatic part of the software.

When doing “split bounties” specifically, though, the assumptions change. It is a specific activity that has a specific goal and a set of guidelines to maximize that goal. And one of those guidelines, accepted by all players who join a game advertised as “split bounties” is that everyone will work independently, even on the boss fights. It’s a basic assumption in the activity. In those games, when a player enters a boss fight, they aren’t inviting you to join them, they’d rather you didn’t join them, but the game will always interrupt everyone in the game with a dialog.

So, responding to invites - that’s polite.

Ignoring automatic notifications in a game specifically and explicitly created to have all players work independently by agreement of those players - that’s just an annoyance and clicking “No” in that case is not rude, it’s actually expected.

In the current form of the game, autopickup + salvage would be really nice.
When things drop only occasionally, it’s ok to handle them manually. However, game has evolved to a really fast paced race where gold and materials rain constantly. And it’s not very interesting to do garbage collection and sorting all the time in the middle of race.

  1. Yes please, what we have on season, plus mats. also move gems to crafting mats tab and make them auto-pickup as well.

  2. No. I like when everyone comes together on the last boss. I’d like an auto-kick on afk:ers in public bounties instead.

  3. Sure, but very low priority for me. Paragon button most annoying imo.

  4. Don’t see the point. Equipping boon late season is fine as you have enough damage anyway, and provides a rare interesting gem-choice early season when you give up damage for move speed and gold. Gem of ease is only use when self-levelling, and then equipping is fine anway, so putting it on follower doesn’t really do anything.

  5. In general having more loot filters (that are easy to share) for picking up and salvaging would be nice. I could see how a salvage all would be dangerous though, and a lot of ppl (possibly including me) would accidentally salvage very good non-ancient jewelry for example. A middle ground would be one-click salvage (no confirmation screen), or even hold down and drag across inventory kind of interface (as ppl already do with macros), combined with a different frame for ancients, similarly to how primals have red frame. And hold-down or buy-all options at kadala.

Sure. Would be nice. Also would be nice if materials, shards, DB’s and what not also got hoovered up by pickup radius. Make that stat more appealing and take some of the burden off the pet (So less complaints about slow pets)

Would also be nice for pets to pick up gems too but outside of S28 with the auto-salvaging that could create inventory issues (Unless they made gems non-items and simply go into a currency style tab)

Makes sense. “Boss fights” are largely irrelevant for most people who only do them as part of bounty farming (In which actual difficulty is not wanted, you just want to speed through bounties to get the caches) so option to disable the invites for those that do group bounty farming would be beneficial.

Makes sense. HotS has a toggle for click-through on its minimap. Don’t see why D3 couldn’t have similar options for things.

I mean… I guess? Not really a big deal given how quick it is to level up and how poorly the gem scales into level 60+ (So you’re not going to be farming tons of Paragon with Ease on your followers)

Makes sense. Given the way the game works these days, raining a lot of (Trash) Legendaries having a button on the smith to salavage them all (Also a toggle to remove the stupid “Oh noes this will destroy that item are you sure you want to do that” warning)

Could also have a “Salvage ALL” button as well at that point, to let you scrap everything of all qualities in your inventory.

Nope, we want actually play the game and not waste time on unnecessary things like picking up mats. The time used to pick up mats is away from killing monsters. You know, doing the meaningful stuff.
