You want people to stop rushing/getting rushed, and for them to stop being rude? as a QoL improvement?
Picking up items and checking gear out you find for improvements is part of the game. What’s hard about having to actually go to where things are on the ground to pick them up? Why auto decline friends invites to boss fights, that’s rude no?
What checking do crafting mats need? No one’s been asking actual items to be picked up automatically, only mats.
When doing for example split bounties you are supposed to do stuff alone, including boss fights. It can annoying when you’re something different and another player enters a boss bounty.
I actually wouldn’t mind number 2.
It’d certainly make split farming bounties less of a nuisance.

I think its funny pets can auto salv whites/blues/yellows for materials, but if materials are on the ground, pets be like “naw bruh, i dun pick up garbage scrap.” lol

Thank goodness for that. But even picking up mats is part of the game. Why make everything quicker, easier and stupid? Not joining a friend in need is rude indeed.
My wife once asked me what this game was like, I told her its like you are a Scrapper, (one of those guys who drives around with a big truck looking for metal things to scrap/sell)
99% of everything you find or craft is not going to be equipped, instead you will salvage it.
It’s akin to playing a trash collection game, but occasionally, you find treasure, instead of trash.
Tell me, would you prefer that our pets didnt pick up gold either, and that gold wasnt auto picked up by radius…?

When doing split bounties that’s something you never do. You are supposed to maximize efficiency which means doing things alone. It’s not rudeness, it’s simply a part of the public game etiquette.
As for picking up mats, by your logic gold should also be manually picked up only. Because just like gold, the mats are nothing but currency for crafting and enchanting. If gold is on autopickup, all other currency should be too.

I would join a friend in need as soon as my character is safe. I would rather pick everything up manually and not make things easier for bots.
In a case of a friend that’s somewhat understandable. But in a public game that’s something you never do, period.

I think you are wildly misinterpreting the auto decline option. Even after having it explained multiple times.

Sounds like you need to grow up and let people counter opinions and have their own. I’m not being rude as i join when friends are in need.

It’s funny how people scoff and reject the idea of the pet auto picking stuff up, yet id wager they are using the pet auto pickup perk from the altar of rights, and when the season ends, they are gonna want it back, and if blizz did add it as a perm function, these same ‘auto pick ruins the game’ people will never complain about it in the future, and utilize it happily.
The same kinda people who cried and cried for Classic Vanilla wow, and now we have 20 dead vanilla servers each with less than 20 active users lol, while the new version of wow is BOOMing.
Contrarians and forums go hand in hand I suppose.
