Primal drop chance and items related to the drop

Hi Dev team and general players.

I’m want to talk about the Primevil items system (red ones) because based on my experience with this games (some years actually) i consider how this mechanism that was implemented too much poor and unbalanced.

Talking about Drop chance, i see a lot of people talking about that if you play GR like a lunatic doing al the rifts in a based time of 2min and play generally for 4 to 8 hours you have in about 400 legendary drops a chance to drop 1 Primal item. In first place, Diablo 3 is to be, like any other game in the world, a very fun and a pleasant game that everyone can play and achieve, with his own effort, the results expected to play in more difficult levels. This is understandable by this game core, but, in my point of view, to be obligated to play around 4 to 8 hours a day to be able to drop a good item is a very heavy mistake, and one of the motives that a lot of players just give up because not everyone have the time to waste playing all day.

Actually, i’m talking while season 26 is in effect, this primal problem still exists and doesn’t matter wich GR you do or how much players you have in your team, the difficult is the same, i’m almost achieving paragon 2000 and nothing changed about drop chance or better items. So this system that you maintain is not pratical and doesn’t work how it should be. i’m not saying that it would be easy, but 400 legendary itens for the chance to drop 1 primal, and to be worse a random primal that could be any trash that you don’t need, i think it’s too much.

I really love this game, and when it was launched, i bought it and played every day, since the auction house was enabled. Since that time, i did not see any improvements in items quality and drop, and like i said, doesn’t matter wich paragon level you are, because it much easyer to mount a build with Ancient legendary items, that to buid something with primals and this is wrong because to reach better GR’s we need to be able to drop better items. Generally i’m playing GR 100 and 110 and it’s too much difficult to drop something good, and when it drops it’s garbage.

Raxxanterax talked about this problems 9 months with a lot of alternatives that could fix this problems. In my case, if this difficult to drop cannot change for other reason (and to be real, i don’t see any reason to don’t change this) maybe would be wise to instead to drop anything, why not to limit the random drop to the class items that are equiped in the user character. For example, if i’m using a demon hunter with a GOD buiild, it’s logic that i want to drop something related to this build and it’s acessories. Why not limit the drop to the items equiped and not all the items for the game? because this is illogical and no pratical for anyone. The player will always hunt for the items related to his equiped build and not the entire game so it would be logic to drop a primal related to the item equiped. Even if could be very hard to drop it, we are assured that the item that will drop will be the item that we are searching for and not a blackthorn as always drop.

I consider this problem a bug and it would be fixed as soon as possible. I’m almost giveing up and is very stressfull. I’m sorry about my poor english and i expect that other players could share their experiences with this problem.

Best Regards.

Feedback is NOT a bug. Anything related to feedback, class balance, boss suggestions, etc. belongs in another forum.

It is working as they designed it, so it is not bugged. If you want to suggest that they change the design, then this suggestion belongs in another forum since they do not take feedback from the bug report forum.

Nothing in this stupid wall of text is in any way a bug. Why are you posting this here?

So you want Blizz to change the drop rates till you are all decked out in primals. Doing that would mean everyone would be all decked out in primals within about the first couple of weeks. Then they have nothing left to look out for other than paragon. At least with drop rates as they are right now they still have a chance at getting primal.

Further primals are not needed. A well rolled ancient with the right affixes can serve you well. In some cases a well rolled non ancient can do wonders as well. Don’t be QQ’ing that you don’t have a character decked out in primals.

They are a chase item that is suppose to take a long time to acquire. Not something that you are suppose to get easily. If Blizz done that then they would probably have to come up with a Kraken Primal Ancient item that would take longer than ancients now in order to give other players something to chase after.

Rare things happening rarely is not a bug, it’s the intended behaviour.
Just because you don’t like the intended behaviour does not make it a bug.

First of all, thank you Meteorblade and ShadowAegis for analyze my post and give me a contructive feedback, and thanks to VitaKaninen to direct me for the right place to this type os posts.

I let in my post very clear that is not something generally speaking but my POV. It’s not something to be judged like it was made by TimberWolf because it’s something related to my experiences in this game. I will move this discussion to the right place and let the other players to share their POV’s so maybe we could see any improvement about this matter.

Thank you very much again. Best Regards.

What if I’m farming my BiS roland/hammerdin/Akkhan/whatever with AoV fist of heaven because it’s the fastest build to farm with tho ?

The whole point of primal and their low drop rate chance is to give players a bit of a game buzz when one actually does drop. If they dropped as often as ancients then they would hardly be rare, and players would need something else to keep them motivated and playing.

I like to see one drop as much as anyone else but I think it’s probably best they work the way they currently do.

Huh. In Vanilla you got no lengendaries at all over weeks and good rare items were rare.
Today rares are useless and lengendaries are rainning from the sky.

In Vanilla you played hundreds of hours to get a build together.
Today you are ready to go on the first “day” of the season. Its just about maximize stats after a few hours and you get just a few percent out of it, which are irrelevant for the most players.

I played a lot more during Vanilla and the first two seasons with low droprates in place. (Selffound)

Most seasons i played just a few hours.

Part of me wonders if they have adjusted drop rates from vanilla that much or it’s because instead of maxing out at whatever the highest level was back then, people are now blasting t16 where it rains legendaries at a ridiculous rate.

I played a bit of hardcore this season and self-levelling a DH without a challenge rift bag was a refreshing experience. The excitement every time a legendary dropped was much enhanced because of the rarity. Once I hit 600 paragon and was cruising t16 with ease it turned into the same ol’ hamster wheel and the only exciting bit after that was soloing echoing nightmares.
