Please Upgrade & Create Sub-70 Sets

I think that the level 60 “Demon’s Skin” set should be improved and revamped into a level 61 set, and that one or two additional crafted sets become available at level 66.

As you know I enjoy the level 1-70 leveling process, which is why I have occasionally complained about the fact that all the original sub-70 sets have never been upgraded or improved since their inception. It’s also why I complained about the same thing when Blizzard announced level 70 versions of sets that I believe so sorely needed attention.

Again during the leveling process I felt the limitation of these sub-70 sets, and as always, felt a void between levels 60 and 70.

I think that the level 60 “Demon’s Skin” set should be improved and revamped into a level 61 set, and that one or two additional crafted sets become available at level 66.

Diablo III’s maximum character level at launch was 60, which means some out there are still playing it. It would be unfair to make a lvl60 set, a lvl61 don’t you think. But I think some of the sets below 70 should be reviewed for relevancy with all the set changes that have occurred since. Not a lot that is terribly useful. Cains is my fav.

Those levels go so quickly that it isn’t worth wasting time to do things like this.

I thought that also, but then I was thinking about the original D3 players that never bought the next two D3 expansions which ushered lvl 70 play. Like the recent question concerning how can I play with someone using the original game. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nobody needs extra sets for leveling to 70.

The sad part is they want to discourage players from playing vanilla, so they feel inclined to buy ROS to continue playing. This is why vanilla is left as the broken mess that it is.

As for the OP, lvl 61-70 is such a small percentage of game time, most players are there for less than an hour. I would rather them put their efforts into finally balancing the end game. All’s that will happen if they “fix” sub-level 70 sets is they will add a few zeros to the damage multiplier which means lvl 61-70 will take substantially less time than the already short 30 minutes to an hour.

And how often do you level a character from 1-70? Each Season? And wouldn’t that experience be made more enjoyable if there were something to make the 60-70 trip more fun?

But I suspect you are one who simply gets a plevel from someone who has already done your work for you.

They don’t if you are actually playing the game to have fun. If your purpose is for them to go quickly, you can take a character from 1-70 in the space on one rift.

So your view, while popular, is not relevant to the topic.

I don’t level that way. Still only takes a few hours to go from 66-70, at most.

Also, different people find different things fun. Getting to 70 quickly doesn’t mean they aren’t playing the game for fun. Having fun is pretty much the ONLY reason to play video games.

Of course it is. Just because it’s different than your view doesn’t mean it’s not relevant.

It’s been long enough they should let everyone reach 70.
they can still have adventure mode locked

What would be kinda cool is to be able to play scaled down versions of the current level 70 sets if you are below 70.

Not at all. It’s truly such a small part of the game. Craft XP sets and socket a ruby. Leorics Crown drops fairly early for most players. It happens each season I play. Usually takes me 1.5 hours to reach 70. Personally, the fun starts at 70 for me.

This can be done with the vanilla sets such as IK, Inna’s, etc.

My third account has a vanilla license only and I have been tempted to plvl a barb to make a vanilla HotA build.

But then I think about how long it’ll take to get the right gear and stats given there’s no gambling or enchanting. And then I give up on the idea.

IamLegion, do not get what you are trying to say here…You obviously did not read my post, or you would have known that I did not ask for sub-70 sets, but thanks for the handy reference. I said, "I think that the level 60 “Demon’s Skin” set should be improved and revamped into a level 61 set, and that one or two additional crafted sets become available at level 66.

Specifically an upgrade for that set, since the Sage’s Plight set exists, but one responder said that if we improve that set and make it level 61, then becomes inaccessible to people who are playing the base Diablo III game that only goes to level 60. So I can see pulling back from that idea.

I enjoy crafting and using the Born’s Defiance (21), Cain’s Fate (23), Captain Crimson’s Finery (31), Aughild’s Victory (42), Asheara’s Uniform (52), Guardian’s Contingency (55), and then the level 60 sets, Demon’s Skin and Sage’s Plight. And if you happen to be a melee character, you could craft a nice 2-piece set from the level 60 Hallowed Defenders set. But Demon Hunters got the short end of the stick on that set; there’s a crossbow, but no quiver.

So I’ll modify my request to include simply a new level 61 set, and two new level 66 sets. I choose those points because there is a major upgrade in gear property values at those two levels, which changes the game considerably.

At this time, the only way to stimulate these “new” sets are to craft many copies of the level 70 sets and hope for the Secondary property of Reduced Level Requirement to appear.

Yes, my friend we all suddenly feel the wrath of monsters get so much harder after hitting lvl 61.

What most do is town quickly and replace much lower lvl gear with 61 lvl from blacksmith and with that lvl 70 rare weapon you are almost 70 in 30 minutes or less.

Yes, but at times that is difficult, for example at the beginning of a Season, because crafting materials are scarce, and on most gear, that RLR is elusive.

That is what I’m talking about.

Once I hit lvl 61, I immediately town and lvl up most gear to 61.

You don’t have to spend your mats on gear as you pick up tons of legs/yellows etc. running rifts.

All they need to do is make all of the subpar sets craftable, and then make the craft itself scale with the players level.

Honestly, based on the updated power of Aughilds lvl 70 version, the only sets that should not be craftable at this point are the class sets and then the LoN rings(unless redesigned pre 70 would serve no purpose). Even FnR or Travellers are comparable to Aughilds.

An easier solution to making them scale with the player level would be to have a the items scale every 10 levels, thus an upgrade would be available to craft at level 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60. For all versions that are below level 60, there should not be a requirement to use a forgotten soul in the recipe.

I see no reason not to, for most of us they go fast, but still hear a lot of people talk about leveling solo and it taking them 6-8 hours.

Crazy to think that multiple people play different ways! Why not do some things for these players as well, and we also get a benefit.

If your worry is that it would take development time, this would not be a hard change to make. if you look at my above comment and we go that route instead. They could even make it so easy that the level 10, 20 etc… versions are simply a ratio of the level 70 powers.

Yes.

We are talking a handful of rifts here.
Finding something is nice (though not game changing).
Crafting would be useless because you don’t have mats for crafting at this point.
And it’s really only one char per season you have to lvl this way.

Last season I got 1 pl for my alt and gave 20-30 pls myself. Boosting people is fun.
