I am searching for them since the cosmic wings arrived, 4 YEARS and counting, so lilian princess really exist or is it a myth? ‘-’
I tried to party search, solo search, making goblin routes… but so far no wings.
Can lilian princess also spawn into the staff portal as well? It was fun at the start but 4 years of search i am starting to feel … you know… ;-;
It is literally 8 hours farm for 2 rainbow goblins that won’t spawn the ponny.
She has 1% spawn chance. Keep grinding.
she does NOT spawn from the staff portal. Only from the rainbow goblins, and even then it’s only a 1% chance of her showing up.
I feel your pain I’ve been trying for years and years and have nothing to show for it too.

See, I don’t have the portrait, but yes she still spawns. When I found the wings it took me about 3 weeks of nothing but dedicated goblin runs. You said you did goblin runs, but what time of the day? I seemed to find more Rainbow Goblins in the early morning hours (Central time, USA my time), between 5 - 8 a.m… Probably just a coincidence but I would find 5 - 10 RG’s every day. Just keep trying, eventually you’ll get them.
I am convinced, however, that Sir William does not exist.
Rainbow goblin portal takes you to Whimsydale.
If you find the rarely spawning mob it will drop the Cosmic Wings.
Staff of Herding takes you to Whimsyshire.
If you find the rarely spawning mob it will drop the rainbow portrait frame.
In both, you can find the Horadric Hamburger (dagger) and Spectrum (one-handed sword) which unlock transmogs. The two rare mobs only spawn in their respective maps, i.e. you’ll never get wings in Shire, and never get the portrait in Dale.

People don’t see this as a problem. Never ceases to amaze me. I’ve built engines in less time than that including waiting for parts and the machine shop. It was a hell of a lot more fun too.
Princess Lilian is a lie!
I’ve found Sir Williams more times than I’ve ever seen Princess Lillian.
There’s less RNG involved for Sir Williams than Princess Lillian, thus I already have the portrait (aside from how rare Gibberring Gemstone drops off of Chiltara).
Finding for Princess Lillian is wrapped up in layers of chance that I gave up looking.
wow that is funny for the pass 2 weeks i been farming 6-10 Rainbows a day only at around 5am-8am est time , after that it takes hours just to find 1 all day . maybe they spawn more in the morning for some reason lol
I found Princess Lillian twice, 1% chance is not that bad compared to Sir William.
Sure you can repeatedly use the Staff of Herding to look for Sir William, but even with the Infinite Dash Monk it can take days.
The mind numbing task of seeing nothing but Whimsyshire for hundreds or thousands of runs makes me prefer the more dynamic rainbow goblin search.
Have you guys been removed from games while in Whimsydale? Happened to me twice, it’s maddening, you know how people blindly click yes to remove vote. So nowadays when I found rainbow goblins, i kept quiet, finished the bounty, acted busy until everyone left, and one of those times I found a cosmic wing. lol
If you joined a public Bounty group, and were in Whimsydale instead of doing Bounties then you absolutely deserved to be kicked, because you were not doing what the group was formed to do, i.e. Bounties.
Generally, if a portal to Whimsydale or The Vault is found during Bounties, they should be kept for after all the Bounties have been completed. That way, the people that were only interested in Bounty caches can leave (and get on with running more Bounties) and those that want to do Whimsy / Vault can stay and do so.
You know how you can’t return to base until you clear out the whole Whimsydale, if not you are missing out on loots, just like vault. i was mistakenly blame for that. it’s the GoD DH who clear out the whole Whimsydale in the blink of an eye, and the first to leave the game, somehow I was the one who got removed after she left. Yeah I confronted both one didn’t reply back, the other just blindly click yes to the remove vote.
So last week, this happened in a public bounty. I saw the Rainbow Goblin kill in chat and I said let’s do whimsy after the bounties. And the guy said “a portal did not open.” I was surprised because I thought the rainbow goblin always opened a portal.
So we finish the bounties and I leave. Then I get a DM from one of the guys in the group asking if I remembered who killed the rainbow. I said I thought he had, he said no, and says he stayed in the bounty because he thought there was something fishy, then when he ported to another guy that hadn’t left, he was in Whimsy and he had cleared it out all on his own.
I asked him to invite me back, and he did and sure enough, Whimsy was cleared out. I could not understand why a player would do this. Does a player get more loot if they are alone in whimsy? I always thought everyone got their own loot.
It really ticked me off. I should not have been surprised though, when the player’s name had upper case and lower case letters throughout their name.
I had a guy like that once, he killed a rainbow goblin and pretended nothing happened.
I found out in chat where he ported to last, and told the group about it. We then found the rainbow portal and did it before finishing the bounties and the guy left, complaining about how long it takes.
He could have just been honest about it and convinced us to finish bounties first but some people are egoistic.
1%? It seems to me that is very optimistic assessment.
Nope, but whilst he was in Whimsydale farming all those sweet legendaries and gems you were still completing Bounties so he could get caches he wasn’t helping the party to earn. If he got away with it, he’d have had just as many caches as everyone else plus some extra loot from Whimsydale, all whilst not having to do as many Bounties.
