No Petrified Screams in non-season. Bug? Bad luck?

I got petrified screams between seasons (non-seasonal) at a decent rate. Since season 27 started, I’ve not found any for my non-seasonal characters. If this isn’t bugged, could the drop rate be upped a tad?

for comparison, I found about 6 of them at Paragon 1100 (season)

Paragon points don’t give PS, GR bosses do.

I’m currently at 250 paragon and have 7 PS.

Either you’re extremely lucky or you’re running at an extremely low GR level or both. I’ve averaged about one every 15 grifts or so.

At p900 ive already found 10.

Some luck, some play. I strictly run gr solo.

Speed is probably key to ibcreasing efficiency and odds. I average 1.5 minutes per gr110 right now.

I think I’m at 12 at paragon 980. Was able to save some because I entered a game where this guy kept using once he realized me and another guy were capable of getting max PS gems. I wasn’t going to complain…

That’s why I said that Paragon points don’t drop PS, GR bosses do.

I’ve done 85 GRs this season.

It is bad luck to still be playing non-season. This season is pretty fun. You should check it out.

The drop rate does not seem very high, but that’s also how it was in season when they were introduced. However, this time around, I have found as many as I did the entirety of the last one and there is plenty of time left should I want to find more (the Screams, for me, are relatively pointless overall.)

I am up to 430 paragons and I have received 4 petrified screams for season 27.

Oh, they are asking if NONE season has drops since season 27 started. I have not played none season since 27 started, anyone tried it yet?

Between season (after season 26 and before season 27 started) I seen screams drop.

Anyone playing non-season and still seeing screams dropping?

Does it matter?

Just pointing out how meaningless it is to say “I only got X PS in XXX paragon.”

Sort of as if u do lower than gr90 u get less drops. Also 85 grs and being 250 paragon doesnt seem likely thats prolly why he ask.

I’m pretty sure that PS drops function like legendary gems and are treated as extra loot. I don’t think the level of the GR matters.

So you’re saying that PS are part of the regular GR drop pool and aren’t treated like an extra drop?

The problem with random numbers and low drop rates is that you get some really non-intuitive results. While the average drop rate for Petrified Screams is supposed to be 5% for any GR you complete that leaves about 1/3rd of the players getting none after 20 completions… and about 1 in 8 won’t have any after 40. Heck, after 100 GR clears (not a GR100 clear but 100 on any GR) there will be 1 player in 167 that doesn’t get even one Scream. And this is by design, it’s not a bug, it’s a feature. Because Blizzard doesn’t care about individual players only the average drop rate across all players.

I think the original question is did it get turned off for non-season once season 27 started?
I did see a few between seasons, but have not played non-season since…

I guess we could have D3 QA test it out, oh, wait, that’s us… dang it…

Any non-season only player know if at least one has drop since the start of season 27?

I’m having to much fun on season 27 to bother to test this right now …
