šŸ’” Next 2 Classes are Amazon and Assassin - Here's Why

I personally think multiple genders and multiple looks makes the heroes less iconic.

But I can see many people enjoy this.

So … ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ

Same. There was something about the Amazon in D2 that I just loved. She looked so bad *ss. Especially holding her javelin.

Necro and a Ranged class. I think the real question is what the ranged class would be called? Hunter sounds too much like WoW.

I enjoyed assassin , Trap were there mostly for corpse-explosion, main damage was a fireball but it was very gear dependant to be good.
I think we’ll see bow n arrow class and undead

I like these twists but I think and I hope that the Devs are trying to recapture the Diablo 2 spirit here so for the main game I think they should stick to the safe route of D2 classes.

This combined with D2 mechanics like skill trees and itemization, will help to bring back lost Diablo fans.

Once they have won us back then I can see this happening -

Reformed Cultist and the dark version of Paladin are my favourites amongst your ideas.

Actually, played well, the Assassin was a really dynamic class and was very enjoyable. Dual wielding claws made for really fun riptastic affairs against mobs, and their traps weren’t nearly as annoying as say, PoE’s traps. In fact, let us never mention PoE’s traps again *shudder*.

Switching my prediction to Necromancer and Rogue (throwback to D1).

There is obviously need for a Shield + Light character so I can understand why that is popular. But why can’t we have a Shield + Death character. Like a Death Knight.

In D2 and D3 expanded lore, Necromancers can actually fight melee with skills like poison dagger and using curses and corpse bombs (yes there is more than just corpse explosion in D2) as supporting powers.

The Holy theme is already overdone imo in D3 with Monks and Crusader. Bringing back the Paladin will just make that theme overused again.

So how about a Paladin / Crusader who relinquished his faith / holy powers after being saved by a Necromancer and turned to a follower of Rathma. Then he uses his life long martial prowess and augments it with his knowledge of Rathma to subdue his foes.

Now what im sortof hoping far. Maybe a weird mix… just sortof keep this idea sortof in mind. Maybe they keep it sortof bland.
Select Warrior, the male comes out as a barbarian. The female an amazon. Both warriors in their own ways.
Specialist class- Archer/rogue/thief.
Spiritual class? - Necro, paladin, witch, druid, sorc.

Just throwing some sort of idea out there.

You offend me on a spiritual level.

You called the Assassin boring but enjoyed:

•Stand in place and hammer/zeal/smite
•Stand in place and fire arrow/throw javelin on repeat.
•Stand in place and fire bone spear/bone spirit off screen
•Stand still and let the skeletons do the work?

Your attempt at a troll post was ā€œboring.ā€

Would like to see them all but whichever sell better will have to be payed for unfortunately.

Its just not for you. I’ll have you know that Assassin in MXL is quite fun to play.

I guess I never really gave it a chance then. I didn’t level up an assassin much at all, as far as I can recall. The class just didn’t catch me early on like some of the other classes.

Assasin because there was an item.in the demo which had lightning trap.
Amazon is mu second guess or a simmoning class. For people saying druid is a summoning class havent played d2 i guess. It was not viable ! The pets were only for buffs

I personally would love to see something in the neighborhood of a Battle Cleric or even a Priest / War Priest .

For his Mana pool they could use something like Prayer or Belief . Utilizing his abilities to both deal damage and heal wounds, could be an interesting take.

Other than this I wouldn’t mind seeing something like the Assassin making a return, even if she was altered or changed.

Any rogue class in my opinion would fit well, could use their Seamless skill system by allowing him to use daggers, poisons ( like throwing poison flasks or bottles as an idea ) and even crossbows on the fly with his different skills.

Though i’m with about 90% of this thread and saying it will most likely be Amazon, Necro or Paladin. Though we all still have to think about the DLCs to come that may have these as teasers to entice purchase.

Anyway that’s my two cents here.

Pirate and Ninja.

Finally they will be forced to work together to overcome a greater foe.

I can relate to that. For me it’s the Witch Doctor here in D3. I just don’t dig its vibe or playstyle. Same with the Crusader. Wizard used to be my go to in D3v, but the changes they made have dropped it off my radar too, and I love ranged classes.

Thankfully there are enough classes so that everyone pretty much has at least one that they like to play with.

The assassin was my favorite class in d2. I loved the generator/detonator mechanic. I thought the mechanic was fun but only when it wasn’t the only skill used. I loved the skill that made her run and attack freakishly fast. It made her so fun to play. My favorite build to date was a build I made that utilized the big single Target generator and the flying kick spender with the corpse explode trap. Fly around the mall with the super speed ability passive and the flying kick, deal huge single Target damage, then let the corpse blow up everything else on the screen. Maybe not the best build ever but it was hella fun. Assassin would probably be the only return class I’d be into. Otherwise I hope they have two new classes.
